- Set up my Apple TV today and I can’t get video when I mirror screen. Every other app works fine (YouTube, Snapchat etc) but for whatever reason mirroring won’t work. I get the audio just fine but all I get is a black screen. Any idea why?

- Hello gang! Having used Apple TV and features with an Apple TV. I now have a second TV which is LG 77” G1. I was wondering how to put the virtual remote on the Apple TV remote and or control it from that feature if it’s possible.
- Anyone figure out how to disable the prompt to connect to AirPods Max on the Apple TV?

Posted: 12 Nov 2021 02:48 AM PST So, literally only as of yesterday and continuing into today, I have the strangest issue with Apple TV only: When I connect my AirPods Pro or Beats Fit Pro, they connect temporarily to the Apple TV. after a matter of seconds, they disconnect but not only do they disconnect; they wipe all audio headphone devices from my Apple ID. So I have to manually factory reset each of my headphones and manually re add them to my account. I only own AirPods Pro and beats fit pro, but I've tried with both and it happens with both. Has anyone else had this? It's occurring on the latest 4K Apple TV. I have tried removing my Apple ID and re adding it as well as factory resetting the device; no luck. If I use my iPad or iPhone, though, everything works fine.. [link] [comments] | ||

It states: "Apple TV 4K uses a high bandwidth form of Dolby Atmos that doesn't work over ARC connections." Does this mean I cannot use any Apple TV to send Atmos content via ARC? I just read on Apple forums that the new Apple TV 4K with updated remote produces high-bandwidth signal over its hdmi port, which I assume means it can only use eARC to play Atmos content. My current Atmos system uses just ARC. It's a cheaper Vizio 5.1.4 system, but suits my needs. Will I need the older version of the Apple TV 4K to play this Atmos content via ARC? Or will the new one downscale? It seems forums say it will not downscale. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments] | ||

(Stutters and lag) Posted: 12 Nov 2021 07:04 AM PST I installed the Apple TV app on my LG B8 and I was absolutely shocked when I used the UI on the app. It was incredibly smooth with no frame drops whatsoever. My Apple TV 4K (1st gen) does not run this smoothly. There are constant frame drops and moving through the UI almost always stutters as it's loading a new sets of content. And no, i'm not talking about third party apps like Netflix etc, this happens in the official Apple TV app. It runs really poorly in comparison to the free apps. Has anyone else tried out the ATV app and compared the performance to the ATV hardware? If the 2nd gen fixes this then I'm tempted to buy it. [link] [comments] | ||

| 007 Spectre showing up as HD….should be Dolby vision? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 07:24 PM PST Anyone know why my Apple TV shows Spectre as HD instead of Dolby Vision? It shows up as Dolby vision on my phone, iPad, and Mac on the TV app. but on the Apple TV itself, it shows HD. Edit: I logged out of my iTunes account on my Apple TV 4K. Spectre is showing up as a potential purchase now (obviously), and it's listed as HD! All of the other Daniel Craig 007's are shown as Dolby Vision! This has to be some glitch for the Spectre movie listing on the Movies app on Apple TV 4K? I guess someone else here who has the movie can check and confirm? on the Apple TV 4K. | Posted: 11 Nov 2021 04:01 PM PST I've tried multiple HDMI ports and multiple high speed cords. One HDMI cable is a brand new Snowkids showing 48Gbps and the other is the HDMI cable that came with the PS5. I've tried every setting within Apple TV and my LG C9 I can think of or read about. Everything's up to date and i've done two factory resets now. Did I just get a bad unit off Amazon or does anyone have experience with this who could help me troubleshoot before I return it? Watch a video, and its muted… have to close video and try again. Sometimes that works, sometimes it takes 3-5 times of closing and reopening video and sound is back. This happens across all my apps. I made a custom style in ATV4K -> Settings -> Accessibility, and was careful to set every instance of "allow video to override" to off. (Geez, there's a lot of places to toggle.) When watching Hulu Live, the style mostly looks the same, but the font is bigger/bolder. Is this happening because live, local TV is not an HDR stream? I have my Video settings configured for Dolby Vision with Match Content on for both range and frame rate. It's not a big deal, but I'm just wondering.
