- Xfinity is down. I have downloaded literally hundreds of songs and some videos using Apple Music in recent weeks and prior (or so I thought) but not one was playable without Wi-fi. What is the point of having storage if data is not “technically” being stored?

Posted: 08 Nov 2021 07:36 PM PST I finally got a respectable tv and beyond that, finally got a chance to catch Marvel flick on said tv through my 4K Apple TV. Kids are asleep so I went with the AirPods Pro instead of the constant up and down on the remote volume and all I can say is wow. The sound is amazing. I kept removing my AirPods to make sure the sound was only through my headphones and not out loud. The immersive sound is seriously amazing. It's delightful. | Posted: 09 Nov 2021 04:07 AM PST I have closed captioning/subtitles set to a fairly normal setting of white text with a black background. I think it's the default. I believe all apps therefore use this except one : Netflix. Netflix insists on using a thin white text without a black background so the captions are often lost if that area is light colored. I've tried toggling to another style and back to no effect. The Netflix app doesn't seem to have any internal options for subtitles that would be overriding the ATV's options. Any ideas? In the default font, it shows unrelated parentheses in almost every line of dialog. I tried switching the font and it made it even worse. | Lag with new Apple TV 4K 2nd gen remote Posted: 08 Nov 2021 08:24 AM PST I had the previous gen and it worked perfectly, I literally just swapped the ATVs, same cables and everything. The remote takes second to respond, I updated to the latest tvOS, tried restarting, switched to chroma 4:2:0 and nothing. Is anybody else having this issue? Posted: 08 Nov 2021 06:46 AM PST Marvel and Disney announced that 13 titles will receive IMAX enhanced treatment with expanded aspect ratios and DTS audio on Disney+ 12 (source). Does anyone know if these will work with Apple TV? I don't think the aspect ratio change will have any technical limitations, but I could see the DTS audio not being played on Apple TV, which I'm disappointed in because I really want higher end audio than the lossy audio streams we get now. | Posted: 08 Nov 2021 08:28 PM PST The only reason I have an Apple ID is to stream Apple TV. Unfortunately, my Apple ID and password are not allowing me to actually enter Apple TV online. Every time I enter them, I receive a two-factor authentication code, which I successfully complete, only to get a red error message saying that I can't log in and that I need to try again. The ID and password are valid, and work just fine to get into the central Apple ID management interface. And my credit card is getting charged so there are no issues there. | Troubleshooting Library Artwork Issues Posted: 09 Nov 2021 12:01 AM PST Hi all. The whole transition to Apple TV from iTunes screwed with my Library in a big way, and it's just gotten progressively worse. As such, I'm trying to fix it. In particular I'm having trouble trying to fix artwork on my TV Shows. With Movies the fix is rather straight forward, I find replacement artwork and swap it in. However, for TV Shows artwork is saved on an Episode level with no option to change the overarching TV Show artwork. Here are 3 examples: Show A - no longer available in the iTunes Store. The show maintains the old square aspect ratio artwork. Show B - no longer available in iTunes Store. The show has no overarching artwork and uses the generated artwork of the first episode as the TV Show Artwork. Show C - This show is currently available in the iTunes Store with updated artwork, but the artwork has not been updated locally. Still retains old square aspect ratio artwork. I got them because they are a bit cheaper than AirPods Pro and they are more secure for what my wife will be using them for. I understand they have the H1 chip so I assume they support most of the same features as the AirPods Pro. Most of the Apple Devices are tied to me as the primary owner, including the Apple TV. My understanding though is if I switched over to her profile on the Apple TV, her headphones would just pop up, but they didn't. This was after we had already paired them to her phone of course. Does Automatic Device switching only occur if you are the primary user of the device? And it isn't profile based? Or is it that it will only search for AirPods and the Beats Fit Pro needs to be paired manually? Would appreciate the help! [link] [comments]  |

The bottom of the video also stays covered up by the suggested videos. Anytime I pause to look at a single frame this happens, and I'm unable to make this "grey out" go away. This is driving me nuts. (Other than iTunes sync) Posted: 08 Nov 2021 06:07 PM PST I have a hard drive full of movies that I want to store on my Apple TV, but when I try to use iTunes library sync it doesn't show up in finder (I'm on macOS Monterey, so iTunes is there now). I wanted to know if there was any way to connect a hard drive or something to it to download the movies onto it. It has a USB port after all. A quick google search found multiple threads on the Apple forums where Apple basically don't have an answer except "have you updated your software"….which is the thing that broke it in the first place. Has anyone got it working and if so, on what models? It seems the most recent ATv is the 1st Gen 4K from 2016 - anything older is dead in the water. [link] [comments]  |

As soon as the game loads to start racing, the game crashes. I have already er started the AppleTV, latest software is installed (tvOS 15.1.1). But it would be amazing to be able to just stream any movie on their system. It would relegate the competition to just original content only to which yes, Apple has work to do but does eliminate an advantage that Netflix and co have...
