| HomePod Stereo Pair just stops working for no apparent reason Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:24 PM PST Posting here now because this keeps happening, it's not just a one off. I've tried rebooting the Stereo pair, then unpairing and repairing the HomePod Minis. Sometimes it fixes it for maybe an hour or so other times it doesn't. Eventually I had enough and completely factory reset both HomePods earlier today and set them up again as a stereo pair. Everything seemed to be working fine again then, 5 minutes ago, I tried to play some music and yet again sound was just playing through one speaker. Getting fed up of this at this point. Apple is usually very good at making stuff work right out of the box but these HomePods are a nightmare. FYI they're both running version 15.1.1 OS. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:39 PM PST Last year I got myself an iPad Pro because I had never tried 120 hz before and my old iPad was getting outdated. I can definitely notice the improved refresh rate, but it wasn't as huge a difference as I was expecting. Now I'm considering a new phone. Is it worth the extra $200 for 120 hz with the 13 Pro over the 13? I do not care at all about the other features the 13 pro gets. Is it worth it if I only notice the extra frames occasionally? It's worth noting that I plan on keeping my next phone for awhile. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
| Not receiving notifications for Instagram group messages Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:52 PM PST So about a month ago I moved from Android to an iPhone 13 and ever since I haven't been receiving any notifications from Instagram group DMs on my new device. I get all other notifications from Instagram, including likes, comments, individual DMs, etc.. I even get notifications if someone sends a photo or a link into the group chat, but notifications fail to come through for every other message in that chat. All notifications for Instagram are turned on both in Settings and in the app, so I have no idea what's going on. This is really frustrating since my friends primarily use an Instagram group chat to communicate. Anybody know how to fix this? I've been using the Threads app as a tentative workaround but Meta is shutting down that app next month so I need a real solution soon. I'm using a regular iPhone 13 on iOS 15.1.1 [link] [comments] |
| Deleting the App "Background Music" Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:49 PM PST Hey, I deleted the app Background Music on my MacBook (Monterey) with AppCleaner, so there should not be any file remnants on my drive. When I play a certain game, my iPad screen will eventually dim and cut about 2/5 of my brightness level, however the brightness remains on the same level when you try to change it. For example, it'll be on full brightness, it'll dim, I'll check the level and it'll remain in full brightness. I assume this is maybe because it is overheating? If so or if not, how could I fix this, maybe certain cases, or replacing the battery? I'm not sure. [link] [comments] |
| Can't Copy or Delete Files via GUI Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:19 PM PST I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, late 2013) running macOS Big Sur 11.5.1. Lately I've had an issue where I can't copy or delete files via the GUI (i.e. dragging and dropping, or right clicking and choosing remove/copy/etc.) If I do, the system will hang forever and I'll have to use hardware reboot. Doesn't matter if the file is 1 bit or 100GB, same thing happens. I can copy and delete files fine via the terminal or python scripts, but every now and then I forget, and by force of habit I drag/drop and the machine hangs. Anyone experienced this or have suggestions? I use the macbook exclusively for ios and android development, there is nothing on it except for xcode and android studio. Thanks [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 28 Nov 2021 02:07 PM PST Hello, I am trying to find the best printer for a Mac Book, but the more I look at reviews and advice online, the less clear it becomes...I want a wireless printer, that is easy to set up and use and is reliable and cost effective - I'm not fussed if it's inkjet or laser and I'm happy with any brand that would work well - it has to be desk based and it's for home use so I'm not looking for a huge printer that can do cartwheels. I also can't restart my phone because the screen to restart the phone doesn't show up, I tried doing it without the screen showing and I accidentally called the police. is there anything I can do to fix this? Despite this, when I look at my photos app the files are not synced between my phone and iPad and at the bottom of the screen it says that I am out of iCloud storage and to buy more. Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:04 PM PST I tried googling this but found nothing to help me, it seems that any task I do wether it be google something or doing homework, my MacBook CAN'T keep up. It just freezes and glitches or has the rainbow loading cursor for ages, and browsing safari is an absolute joke. It is getting worse and worse, such that I am even debating using library computers for college work. So today I tried inspecting the problem, and I closed out every possible application, every program (except for one tab on safari) and it STILL has 72% of my RAM taken up, and it seems that something called "callservicesd" is taking up a huge chunk. Posted: 28 Nov 2021 12:50 PM PST Hello, so I'm trying to change to my own apple ID on my iphone 7 plus, since I'm using my families at the moment. From my understanding it is pretty easy to do and you can choose to keep contact, photos etc. I just want to make sure my family can't see all of my stuff. I have a few questions: Right now all my photos on my iphone are only saved locally to my knowledge. When I switch to a different apple account will the photos just stay on my iphone and not save to any account? I don't want the rest of my family seeing my camera roll. Is there any way to not lose all of the data in my apps? Will I have to repurchase all the paid apps I want to use? How do the saved text messages migrate over to the new account? | Iphone 11 Pro Max screen intermittently stops working this is the second time in 2 months Posted: 28 Nov 2021 11:57 AM PST Hello I hope someone is able to help me. I have an Iphone 11 Pro Max on IOS 14.8.1 Purchased around November 2019 via EE contract in UK, England for personal use. The issue I have started seeing is that the screen randomly stops processing/registering touches/swipes I try. However it works for a few seconds after I close and open it again via the power button to the right. For example, I would close the phone by clicking the right power button and right click the power button again and unlock the Iphone with my face and it would allow me to swipe and do everything and stops literally a few seconds after. It took me a few times of turning on the phone on and off again to get to the settings to be able to see my software. I do not know what caused the issue but I first saw this happen about 1-2 months ago. I have tried, hard reset, turning the Iphone off and on again. I even updated the software to IOS 14.8.1 the first time it happened. I had booked a meeting with a genius the first time it happened but on the day I was due to go the screen all of a sudden started working perfectly fine, so I cancelled the meeting. Which I now regret as I might have to book another one. I do not know whether this is useful information or not but this only happened this morning I believe or yesterday morning. I don't remember which exact date as I was still half awake. Someone tried to use my Apple ID in China. I obviously denied the access or whatever it said to say it wasn't me. this didn't happen the first time the screen froze, so I am lead the believe it isn't related? This is however the second time someone tried to use my Apple ID. The first time someone tried to use my Apple ID was in Russia. I was so nervous/jumpy and again woke up in the morning to find it and I don't remember what I clicked but I managed to get my Mac, Ipad and Iphone locked. Luckily I backed up my Iphone and just reset it but the Ipad was gone as Apple couldn't do anything without a receipt. Anyway this has steered away to the original post, so I will stop. It starts to turn on and off with the loading thing from when your iPhone turns on, app logos are invisible(pictures), very slow sometimes and applications crashing all the time (specially clash Royale and YouTube).
