    Can we all agree that TrashMe 3 is a better alternative to CleanMyMac X? CleanMyMac X offers some BS features like "RAM Optimization", which we all know it's far from good. TrashMe 3 just clears junk files and files that didn't get deleted when uninstalling an app.

    Screen flickering and weird colors on Macbook Pro 2017

    I've been using MacOs 12 monterey beta from months without any issue. Yesterday I've updated to the beta 8 version and it worked fine. But when I restarted it again it start showing me screen flickering on dark grey color and weird colours. So I updated it to the beta 9 version but nothing fixed with the update. Can someone help me about the situation how can I solve this? Is it the software issue or a hardware one?

    Hi, why my macbook opens applications after wake up from sleep? I through sleep means super quick start. But it seems every app is closed and opened everytime i sleep macbook. Is this correct or i have something bad in configuration? Thx

    Move Photos Library from external to network share drive

    Hey all,

    I've got a 700gb library living on an external and a 250gb M1 MBP.

    I want to move photos off external onto network drive and simply access from there.

    Has anyone moved their library to a network drive or NAS and pointed the Photos app to build the library from the network folder ?

    If so,

    • how have you found it ? Fast/slow/buggy/smooth etc ?

    • any tips ?

    Downgrading from Big Sur to Carolina, which will wipe my HD... but can I just copy my ENTIRE "/users" and "/Library" directory over?

    I understand that basically all non-OS files would be in one of these two directories. Can I just copy these over after downgrade and have my mac basically run the same as before, just on a different OS?

    Chrome redirects downloads to documents folder

    I have my settings set that every time I download something I get to choose the directory. 99% of the time I save my downloads on the desktop, but for some reason even though I have desktop selected, my downloads start on the documents folder.
    It gets very annoying overtime.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    Plugging in iPhone always brings up “software update for iPhone” notification on Big Sur. Any way to stop this?

    Hey everyone. I can control most notifications through notification centre, but I have no idea where to turn off these iOS update notifications from the system. Does anyone know where to do this?

    I have MacOS system update notes turned off in preferences but these don't seem to affect iOS update notes.

    Deleted macintoshHD

    I accidentally deleted macintoshHD while clearing my laptop to make room for boot camp, and now the drive just says "update" along with the boot camp partition, but boot camp doesn't run windows anyways. I'm in high Sierra now and I can't update to Big Sur due to it saying "null". I'm on a 2017 MacBook Air. How do I fix this?

    Safari 15 and Google

    Anyone else find this odd, a bit of a backward step - literally!

    1. search for anything in the URL window as usual
    2. click on one of the links from Google which result
    3. find it's not what you wanted
    4. click on the back icon
    5. your original search term no longer displays in the URL window

    Or am I missing something? TIA!

    big sur update stuck

    Available space on 11.5.2 driving me crazy

    Start: 30 GB available. Xcode 12 weighs 15 GB.

    Update Xcode.

    End: 14 GB available. Xcode 13 still weighs 15 GB.

    I've had a rummage around in the terminal, looking for the usual suspects - xcode caches, etc. There's just a directory around 1GB, but nothing else. This goes on top of the incredibly obscure way timemachine manages disk space with snapshots (yay, no options anywhere!).

    By the time I write this post, there's 50 GB available.

    Any advice to understand what's going on?

    Video compression and converter app

    I have used this app for more than 6 months and I still do. I've used free software for a long time before, but I haven't found one as good as Compress.

    It has a good UX / UI design, ease of compression, you can choose quality or speed, you can drag the files to the app and compress several videos at the same time. The Telegram support team is very fast answering questions (usually about 10min) and they're quite friendly.

    I spent a long time looking for an app like this one, and only compress has been able to meet my expectations. What other app would you recommend that has changed your life?

    Dock Magnification Question

    I used to have a MacBook Pro (2013), and when I went to magnify & click on an icon on the dock that I was using multiple windows of (take Safari for example), all of the different windows I had open at the time appeared and I could select which one I wanted. I just purchased an M1 MacBook Air, and now if I run two separate Safari windows, I have to click the Safari icon on the dock to select which window I want. I can't find anywhere in the settings or online with a fix, or if this feature was removed from MacOS. Any recommendations?

    Why are my icons inconsistent?

    My icons for Microsoft apps and some other apps are inconsistent. Word has white outline and teams don't. This drives me nuts!

    Can't click within certain UIs (M1)

    If I open System Preferences, I can click things like Apple ID, etc. But when I enter the Apple ID section, I cannot click on anything within it. Clicking on blue checkmarks does not uncheck them, click the tabs on the left does nothing (so I can't access the Payment & Shipping section for example). This happens in other UIs too, where I usually just use the keyboard arrow keys and enter key to navigate when I can get away with it.

    I have no idea what's going on, and I'm not aware of anyone else with this issue -- when I try to Google for it I usually get results talking about a trackpad entirely not working for example. Any ideas?
