    In an attempt to curb the number of threads about pre-order choices/configurations, shipping statuses, etc, we are asking that all discussion about it remain in here. We are setting the sort of this thread to new so that users receive the latest updates at the top of the thread when they open the comments.

    You have 14 days to trade in your old device after purchasing new device at Apple Store

    When you purchase a new device at Apple Store or on the Apple website, you don't have to trade in your old device to get the credit right away. You can do that within 14 days when you are satisfied with your new device. That's what Apple employee told me.

    When you bring your old device to the Apple Store to trade in later, just show the Apple Specialist the invoice along with the serial number of the new device that you bought, so they could apply the credit to the device in that order. Moreover, they will ask you to give them your credit card/debit card so they can send the credit to that card. It takes 3 days for the credit to be applied to your card.

    I just finished traded in my old iPhone after 14 days since the day I have bought my new iPad mini, and they accepted that without any problem. So I think this info is useful for people who want to try a new device before they decide whether if they should sell/trade in their old device.

    If you decide to trade in your device to Apple, please do it in person at the Apple Store. The process is quick and easy, and you get the maximum value of the trade-in right away. Never apply for the trade-in on the Apple website because Apple will assign a third-party company to serve you. They will send you a box so you can send your old device to them. It is a sketchy company. You have to wait in 2 weeks then they will tell you that your device has a problem, so they offer you a very bad quote with a lower value. When you ask them to send your device back to you, you will receive a "broken" device with problems that you have never seen.

    TLDR: Trade in your old devices at the Apple Store within 14 days of a new purchase. Never trade-in online. Ask Apple's specialist to confirm this trade-in policy just in case they change it later.

    Focus mode feature improvements

    Safari

    • allow only selected websites to be visited during your selected focus mode
    • block websites depending on your focus mode chosen

    People

    • Instead of allowing only notifications from selected give us the same selection as phone calls for other notifications such as No one, Favorites, Everyone, All Contacts, and Groups
    • Allow different people to send you notifications in different apps. Not the same selected people throughout all other selected apps

    Sleep Mode

    • If you are using notification summaries, allow the user to get their notification summary once they wake up from sleep if they use the sleep focus mode. Most people read their notifications first thing in the morning, and important notifications that come in through the night will only be delivered during the scheduled delivery time.

    Other

    • make the school and movie theater apple watch feature a focus mode like sleep and fitness
    • unsure what was allowed to come through for sleep and fitness in ios 14 but bring them back to ios 15 if the user chooses not to set up fitness or sleep mode. Currently, with sleep mode turn on, you receive mo notifications or calls.
    • When adding a time for the focus mode, allow us to choose a start and end date for the specific focus mode. This would be useful in school for when you start and end school. Also, allow users to put in their breaks and days off not to enable that focus mode.
    • More specifically, an allow and blocklist because you may miss that important phone call from the doctor. After all, it's not in your contacts or that emergency work text message.
    • Specific notifications within apps. I know many apps send out unimportant notifications, such as uber with their promotional ad notifications. Still, I would like only to receive uber driver location notifications to be the only notifications I get in focus mode and the same for Amazon only shipment notifications. Same for all apps. (this is something Apple is lacking. they need to have a way to turn off specific notifications within settings and not from the app because it's complicated to figure out where the notification settings are in certain apps.)

    Disable HDR option for photos missing on iPhone 13

    I recently upgraded from iPhone 6S to 13 mini and everything works so far. The only feature I am missing is to turn off smart HDR for taking photos. On iPhone 12 with iOS 15 it is still possible to disable HDR in the camera settings, on iPhone 13 with iOS 15 however it is not (source). I really hope they bring back the option because I really dislike HDR photos.
