iPhone Xs in-depth sensor specs. Posted: 07 Oct 2021 11:06 PM PDT Does anyone have links to where I can read up on in-depth sensor specifications for iPhones? I need detailed info about the accelerometer, barometer, three axis gyro et cetera. Apples website has only names of these sensors and is not useful for me. Any leads would be appreciated. Battery Improvement Percentage Based On 5 nm Of Qualcomm x60 Posted: 07 Oct 2021 10:57 PM PDT The advertised nm went from 7nm to 5nm with the newly-used Qualcomm cellular chip in the iPhone 13. Does this mean roughly a 28% improvement in battery, all else being equal? In other words, is there a general rule-of-thumb that a 28% increase in transistors equates to about 28% efficiency? The significance is… does the battery improvement make it more feasible to set 5G to be on much more often. [link] [comments]

Trade-in iPhone without a carrier??? Posted: 08 Oct 2021 12:50 AM PDT Hi. I'm new to trading-in used iPhone and is ignorant of technology-stuff so pardon my lack of knowledge. I have an iPhone 6 Plus (6 years old, 64GB, Gold color, in good condition) that I want to trade-in. When I tried to do trade-in, the website asked for the carrier. I used T-Mobile, however I removed the SIM card from the phone already (I'm using the SIM card in my new phone). Does this means my phone currently has no carrier? I thought we are supposed to remove SIM card before the trade-in so why are they even asking for the phone's carrier? There is no "no carrier" option given and so what am I supposed to do to proceed? Suggestions for a clear case that can charge wirelessly? Posted: 07 Oct 2021 11:28 PM PDT I got a Spiggen clear case with ridges but my phone has slipped out of my hand a couple of times already and it also doesn't feel secure in my back pocket when exercising. Does anyone have a suggestion for a case that provides good grip in a pants pocket as well as hand? I don't have large hands so the smaller the case the better. Even better if it has drop protection. Needing Help with iPhone Storage? Posted: 07 Oct 2021 08:26 PM PDT Semi new to iOS. I have a 64GB iPhone. I want to use Google Photos as my backup instead of iCloud (I also have a Pixel device) so I can keep my photos in one place basically. A few minutes ago I noticed photos were taking up 19GB of space on my phone, so I went into the stock gallery and deleted over 1,500 (out of 2,600) images/screenshots and almost 80 20-30second videos to try to reduce used space... And I'm now at 17GB. What gives? [link] [comments]
2 iPhone 12 minis sold with empty battery - poor demand/oversuply? Posted: 08 Oct 2021 01:22 AM PDT Hi, I purchased iPhone 12 mini from autohorized reseller lately. The phone didn't start. When connected to charger (20W/Cronge/PD3.0 compatible) - it was repeatedly restarting every few seconds. I returned it immediately and purchased second item from different reseller. This time I checked the phone as soon as I picked it up in the resellers shop. Same problem! I asked salesman for support. He connected iPhone to charger he had at hand. No reaction - device dead! Than he opened brand new original Apple charger - this time phone started to charge. It was left charging for a few minutes until it booted properly. From now on it's usable and able to charge from any charger. Some conclusions/questions:
Anybody else faced such problem? What's your opinion/advice? Should I keep it or return it and retry again purchasing next mini? PREEDIT: I cannot afford 13 mini (should be 12S actually). Price difference is not huge but I don't need any "new" features of 13 so it would be the waste of money for me anyway. [link] [comments]
