| Contacts deleted on my iPhone 7 Posted: 30 Aug 2021 09:45 PM PDT I'm not sure why but when I went to call someone on my phone they weren't on there. after a bit more digging it turned out that all my contacts have been deleted and the only way I can see them is if I had previously texted the person and I could only do this in the text app. Also in the phone call app the only options I can go in is keypad, missed calls and voice mail. No contacts. No idea why this has happened any help is greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||

We've tried one guess but it was wrong; I know we have theoretically 9 more guesses but just wondering if anyone has had experience with this or a hack that might work. Will Apple just 100% not do it, even if you provide a death certificate? She had so many pictures of family and genealogy stuff on her phone; my Dad and I would really like to access those. 2) Does anyone have a recommendation for an easy to understand iPhone 11 tutorial/YouTube video/etc that I could show to my Dad to help him use his phone more easily? I also can't play any music for longer than two seconds because it starts distorting it and slowing it down. I know my speaker and mic are fine since I can speak and hear Siri well. | iPhone 7 power/charging/battery issue Posted: 30 Aug 2021 07:44 PM PDT My Iphone 7 is currently at 50% battery capacity and running on IOS 14.4.2 i recently had it repaired for a charging issue. It was not coming on at all or coming on and only charging to 1% or so. The repairman did get the device to turn back on but now it suddenly shuts off just like that regardless of the battery level. I constantly have it plugged in charging and even while plugged in it dies every 2-10 minutes. Any advice on the issue would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 30 Aug 2021 04:33 PM PDT I am running Mac OS 11.5.2 and using an iPhone 11 Pro and I would like to backup the iPhone to my Mac My Mac's "Macintosh HD" volume only has 36 GB of free space, but I have an external RAID volume with over 7 terabytes of free space... I don't see any options to tell the backup to be stored on an external drive...Can someone please help? | Lysol Disinfecting Wipe Got in iPhone Charging Port Posted: 30 Aug 2021 04:10 PM PDT I'm not sure if this is the appropriate subreddit for this question so please let me know if it's not. I sanitize my iPhone daily with Lysol disinfecting wipes. I always make sure to avoid the charging port and the speakers but today a bit of the liquid ran down the phone and went into the charging port. I don't think it went far in since I kept the phone vertical so that it would come out a bit with gravity. I used a damp cloth to wipe it away without going inside and then a dry cloth to dry the area. I left my phone alone for a few hours and now it's charging like normal. My concern is that there may be residue on the inside that might damage the charging port or the battery over time and that my phone will just stop working a week from now. | Posted: 30 Aug 2021 02:57 PM PDT I've had the iPhone 12 for about half a year and tonight it randomly started freaking out. All but like 3 of my apps disappeared completely from the home screen, leaving blanks on the screen so I can see the home wallpaper. The couple of apps that do show up do not have names under them, it's just the icon, and when I click them it acts like they're loading but then crashes or freezes altogether. LTE and Wifi say they're connected but I had my boyfriend call me and it didn't come through at all. the Phone and Messages too are usually in the dock and are not there at all anymore, but there is a notification badge where the phone app usually is. In 2016, My sister can get my texts (mms/sms) but I can't get her texts. I've opted to use my Google Voice number as it's was the only method I could receive her texts. In 2021, Google ended their forwarding feature & I still can't get her texts using the number provided by cell phone company. Since 2016, my sister & I have upgraded our phones 3 times. We've switched phone providers from Verizon to Tmobile. The problem remained through the upgrades & phone provider switch. Sister's iphones: iPhone 7+(unlocked), iPhone 10 (Tmobile), & iPhone 12 (unlocked). My phones: Samsung Galaxy S7 (unlocked), S9 (Tmobile) , & Pixel 5 (unlocked) We have both attempted to fix the text problem. In 2016, we went to Verizon & they told us go to Apple. We went Apple & they told us go to Verizon. I've went to Samsung store & they told us go to Apple/Verizon. In 2017, we left Verizon for Tmobile & got new phones. We explained the situation & Tmobile couldn't fix the text problem. We then went to Apple & they told go to Tmobile. In 2018/2019, I've search online for a fix & spent days trying to fix the text problem. In 2021, we both have new phones. She checked her Apple account to make sure she didn't blocked my number, I checked my Google account make sure I didn't block her number, & we both check our phones to make sure everything was good. We found this site & it didn't fix the problem. We have done everything in our power to fix the text problem. We reached to Apple (idiots), reach to Tmobile (useless), & we have done every dam thing. At this stage, I had enough of this Apple text bullshit. It's not that my sister & I are idiots. I have a PhD in computer science, made iOS apps, & work for Nvidia. My sister is an attorney & works for the city as director of some problem. So, we had enough of our text problem. Google voice worked but Google killed it. So. I tried everything. I restored my phone 3 times, deleted the app multiple times, updated the app multiple times but no succes. I am on IPhone 11 with IOS 14.7.1. And I have no Jailbreak. I tried to open the app on my restored phone with no Back-up and then it worked. But when I install my back-up and try to open it it still didn't worked. Does anyone know the problem? I don't want to unlock my phone, I just want to say read my texts or view a news notification from the Lock Screen. If I swipe up the phone unlocks. If it tap a notification it opens the app. If I force touch it opens just that one. Am I missing something here? This seems so foolish. I just want to put in my password to see my notifications. I recently discovered that Apple had turned off full resolution photos on my local iPhone, without asking me. The phone came with this setting. Thus, my phone is full of compressed versions of the photos. I want to get all my photos in full quality resolution, without waiting 7 days for Apple to send me my own data from iCloud.com So, I enabled full resolution on the local iPhone. But there is no progress bar, or "completed" status that I can see on the local iPhone. There is no file size, no MD5 or SHA hash. So I got my phone dipped in water after getting caught in a shower.. it was working fine but as soon as I plugged it in for charging, the screen started flickering and it died. Dried the phone for a day, connected it to my computer and it was recognized and upgraded successfully, but the screen won't turn on. Which makes me believe that it's only the screen that got damaged. Is that the case? I recently got it replaced and paid for accidental damage which could help me get a new one without paying..
