| Apple One signup if you already have Apple TV+ Posted: 10 Aug 2021 05:05 AM PDT I have a free trial of Apple TV+ that ends in September. I have it setup to renew annually once the trial is over. Now I am going to signup for Apple One. Will I need to cancel my Apple TV+? I don't want to get billed for it in September since its part of the Apple One package. I am leery of cancelling Apple TV+ because we are watching some series on there right now and don't want to loose where we are at. [link] [comments]  | ||
| 4K (1st generation) with 4K (2nd generation) remote Posted: 09 Aug 2021 09:28 PM PDT I've had the 1st gen 4K AppleTV for years, always hated the remote (worst usability). When 2nd generation came out a few months ago I bought just the remote. So far everything works well, EXCEPT it drops the connection to the 4K gen 1 AppleTV a lot. Even from 6 to eight feet it will drop and then immediately reconnect (annoying message displayed). From 15 feet it completely drops and sometimes requires a full manual reconnect (Back+Up buttons at 3 inches away). AppleTV is located behind the TV. Considering buying a 2nd gen AppleTV in the hope that the newer hardware plays better with each other. Never had problems with the gen 1 remote paired to gen 1 AppleTV. Anyone having issues with 2nd gen dropping remote connection? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 09 Aug 2021 03:56 PM PDT The recommended TV 4K settings has always been SDR with 'match content' on. Out of curiosity, why can't it work the other way round? Set tv settings to 4K Dolby Vision with 'Match Content' on and it automatically sets the TV to SDR if it's not DV compatible? [link] [comments]  | ||

| ATV Gen 6 4K: How Tell Video Quality Streaming In? Posted: 09 Aug 2021 08:27 PM PDT My set up is Wifi 6 > ATV 6 Gen 4K > HDMI Ultra High Speed 2.3 > Sony 4K TV > Optical Digital Cable > Older Sony Receiver. My understanding is that ATV Gen 6 will upscale all streamed content to 4K, (my 4K TV always says signal received is 4K), correct? But my video picture on TV is sometimes so-so. How do I tell what the ATV is receiving via Wifi (I'm thinking signal/bandwidth is not good enough for 4k)? Thanks for advice. [link] [comments]  | ||

I have the latest generation Apple TV and iPhone 11 as well as MacBook Pro. When I try to airplay downloaded movies from the phone or MacBook using the TV app I receive the message "This video is in a format that can't be streamed to this TV.". I made sure to select the highest resolution download. Is there a setting in the Apple TV? Seems likely as both phone and MacBook won't airplay. All movies are new downloads. Posted: 09 Aug 2021 11:37 AM PDT About 2 years ago I bought a digital copy of Raiders/Temple of Doom on iTunes that was later upgraded to 4K. A few weeks back I was gifted the 4k set that includes digital codes for the 4K versions. I don't think redeeming the digital codes is going to get me anything else besides the 4K movies I already have in my library? I'm thinking I'll just give those codes to a family member but not sure if there's an actual difference between those codes and the ones I purchased online? (EG maybe I won't get the 8K super dolby vision++ enhanced upgrades with the original purchase? :P ) [link] [comments]  | ||
