    In iMessage videos are still pixelated and small

    When my wife sends me a video in iMessage it still comes out really pixelated. In the text itself the video is really small. I have to go to "info" to get full screen and even then the quality is bad. We both make sure iMessage is turned on. Has anyone else had this issue?

    MacBook Pro is stuck on progress bar while downloading Big Sur

    I finally stopped putting off the Big Sur update notices that were coming in and decided to download it when I went to bed last night. Woke up and the progress bar was in the exact same spot as when I went to bed. Did a hard reset and went to start up options where I tried downloading a new copy of Big Sur.

    It seems to have downloaded, but once it restarts at the end, I logged in and now I'm at another progress bar that isn't moving. Tried waiting a few hours and it doesn't move.

    Iphone 8 submerged in salt water for a few minutes.

    Hello,

    Today I took a quick swim (around 3 minutes) only to realize that my phone was still in my pocket, I quicky rushed out. I let it dry and checked if if still worked, it did and didn't touch it again.

    Fast forward, back at my hotel room I plugged my phone in the charger (it was only at 3%) and then found out it was not charging, guessing there were salt crystals in the lightning port, I immediately turned my phone off and cleaned it with some fresh water under the tap. I have not touched it since.

    Now I have some questions:

    1. I'm currently in another country it will take a few days before I'm back again in my own, will I be on time to take it to a phone repair shop?

    2. If it is even repairable at all, will there be lasting damage?

    Why don’t AirTag’d items show up in “Find My” on iPad?

    Via "Find My" on iPhone, I can "see" the four items that I have AirTag'd. I can also see my Watch, Beats headphones, and the phone itself. By chance, i just opened Find My on this iPad and see the iPhone and Watch, but NOT the AirTags, nor the iPad nor headphones. What's up with that? I only have one AppleID.

    General Question About Switching Apple IDs

    So I used to use Apple all the time, but I went through a Samsung phase. I gave my little brother my iPad and left my Apple ID signed in for him.

    I switched back to Apple earlier this year and it's been increasingly annoying getting each other's iMessages on our apps.

    So I'm wondering what will happen if I signed out and made myself a new Apple ID.

    Will I lose my photos or apps stored on my phone? Files? Or anything else?

    Safari Dark mode

    My safari browser all of a sudden is in dark mode and it didn't used to be like this. My computer has always been in dark mode but i had Safari in light mode. How can i change this back without turning on light mode? Thanks!

    SIM card works on iPhone 8 but not iPhone 12?

    I just got an iPhone 12 and tried to put my SIM card from my iPhone 8 into my new phone. When I put the SIM card in, it initially shows the reception bars and the Sprint name in the top left of the screen, but then it says Invalid SIM and I can't make/receive calls. I put the SIM card back in my old iPhone 8 and was able to make/receive calls just fine. I was wondering what to do to make the SIM card work on my new iPhone 12? Thanks!

    iCloud photos not showing up

    Hello,

    I have 2 iPhone X phones. I am selling one on eBay. I backed all of my photos up from my current phone and turned on my hotspot, the photos are not appearing in the new phone. I do not have a SIM card in this phone yet.

    How do I make sure I have all my photos before I send this one off? How do I make them appear in my new phone?

    When you get a new data plan, do you need a new SIM card too, or does the new plan just get put on the SIM card you already own?

    Macbook Pro not syncing with iphone messages / texts

    I have logged out of apple icloud on both devices and turned it on and off, and reset both devices. iphone is syncing fine with ipad fine.

    what is odd is that when i delete a older message on my iphone that does sync on the macbook. but any new texts I have not received on the macbook.

    Apple Watch backup after reset

    Hi, I know I come here frequently, I'm just dumb with how I manage my electronics. In about February, my watch disconnected from my phone because I reset my phone and forgot to back it up and for some reason apple didn't put a feature where it could reconnect so yesterday I decided to reset it. It worked but I don't know how to restore it from a backup, let alone locate the data. I'm very clueless and at a loss because google hasn't shown me anything useful. I know reddit is always the right place to go in situations like this, so that's what I'm doing.

    MacMini M1 HDMI to DisplayPort

    Hi,

    I just got a MacMini M1 and I'd like to attach it to a older Dell E2216H monitor that only has VGA and DisplayPort. I'd rather use the HDMI than the USB-C... What is the best way to go from HDMI to DisplayPort/VGA?

    (I mistakenly bought a cable with HDMI on one end and VGA on the other, but it gets a "no signal" and read that it needs to be converted from one to the other...)

    Issues with my photos. So, i have lots of photos on my phone because of the type of work i do and i have small storage. And at the bottom of my screen it shows this. Will i be able to get those photos and videos back buy purchasing more storage space? Or buy deleting more? Or are they gone for good?

    2020 M1 MacBook Air BLURRY External Display

    So I recently bought M1 Mac Air. When I connect it to my 1920x1080 Acer external monitor the text is blurry and very annoying. I've tried almost everything from changing the resolution to tweaking a few settings on my laptop.

    What should I do?

    If I buy an external 4k monitor will it help? Has anyone come across this?

    Recover Data from Macbook

    I've got a late 2016 / early 2017 MacBook Pro that the display (I think) has died on me. The cost to repair is not worth it for me, but I'd love to recover my data.

    I'm having trouble figuring out how I may do that. It used to not be an issue to pull out the drives, but it looks like things have changed since my old 2011.

    Anyone know where I can find a guide for it?

    iPhone 8 Plus phone calls

    I have an iPhone 8 Plus that used to be with Sprint, but now I'm with Verizon. 3 weeks ago I started having issues receiving phone calls and text messages. I can call out just fine, but it goes straight to voicemail if someone tries to call me. I switched to Verizon 2 weeks ago thinking it was sprint, but I'm still having these issues. I have done a software update and I reset network settings. What else can I do?

    Activation Lock Denied

    I purchased an iPhoneSE from Best Buy last August and still have the original receipt. I have sent my information to Apple with a copy of the original receipt from BestBuy. They say that my receipt does not have enough information because it is missing a product identifier number. The receipt has a product model # as well as the IMEI #. Compared to an old Apple receipt from the Apple Store for an iPhone 7, the only additional info on an Apple Store receipt is the serial #. I'm not sure why Apple would ask for this additional information that is not on their own receipts and why do they not inform their authorized sellers. I was asked to contact BestBuy to see if they can provide a better receipt with more information for me in order to do the activation lock. Has anyone else been denied an activation lock after sending a receipt from an authorized seller?

    I probably should have bought directly from Apple but the nearest store is an hour away:(

    How do I stop a bluetooth device from being in the bluetooth list?

    Is there a way to change the date format on screenshots?

    As it stands, I have the date format as "2021-08-15 at 19.02.34" and I would like it to read "08-15-2021" instead. I went into the Date & Time settings and they are correct there, but when I take screenshots I get the date all out of whack. Or is there a way I can just get rid of the date and time altogether and just save screenshots as numbers like screenshots save on Windows? Appreciate the help.
