    So today I got my new iPhone 12 and I have gone through most of the setup but always get stuck on Software Update it will successfully download the update but it always gets on the same screen saying install now and to the left it is loading. It has been doing this for 2 hours What can I do to fix this?

    My sister's ipad broke. We've tried everything. It has a black streak across the screen. We dont know what to do. Most of the time its just black with white streaks. We accidentally bent it while messing around. Does anyone know how to fix it? If so please inform me. It is an apple air. Latest model

    My girlfriend has and apple email and has changed to android device recently..... So she's changed her email password on her apple account on Gmail (it's worked up until the password change) and it's asking for "correct credentials needed" even though all the information is correct, and it's been checked double checked and it's still not working.... any and all help will be appreciated

    10.13 take spare drive offline?

    I have a drive going bad, and I need to take it offline, I don't want it to keep remounting... it seems there is no way of doing this????

    I've been going over this searching endlessly, for over a week while the drive just keeps getting more and more messed up, yet, no matter what I do, I cannot find anything beyond ripping the ?ucker open and disabling it at the hardware side, which is so mindbogglingly ridiculous to have to do that.

    If by chance there is a way to do this, I would be very grateful to know -search engines don't seem to be very good at doing their job anymore.

    An unknown error occurred (75)

    Hello all,

    My iPhone X has been stuck in a boot loop for the past few days. The specific error message is "The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (75). I've used three different computers, and am currently using a Razer Blade laptop with itunes version 12.11.4.15. I have tried with and without a firewall. It'll be difficult for me to afford a data recovery (such as ipad rehab), so I'm hoping there's some sort of fix I can do, but I won't do a reset. If there's a chance to get my data back, I'll do it. I brought my phone into the apple store, we attempted to update it multiple times on three different computers to no avail.

    At one point, I was able to get ~1/4th of the way into the update before being given the error. Now it's instantaneous. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Unable to Update Iphone, Failed to Update While Updating

    Recently I got some apple hardware that required me to update my iPhone XR. The problem is, after clearing up some space, the iPhone would throw unspecified errors my way with each attempt.

    I tried to update through my computer, though now after it successfully installed the update and went into the update screen, itunes on Windows 10 threw another error my way.

    Now I am stuck with an iPhone in the update screen (Apple logo with progress bar) and I do not know what I can do from here. I have tried to force power off via the buttons but that did not work.

    Currently it is stuck in its updating mode.

    What am I able to do from here?

    My iPhone 7 is stuck on the Apple logo screen while rebooting

    TL;DR my phone is stuck at boot screen and I highly suspect its due to full storage, I'm trying to gauge an understanding of my options to take moving forwards that do not involve data loss.

    So, my phone just very recently hit full storage and has been acting up a lot lately (including well prior to being full), mostly apps crashing in the middle of use and a very rapidly draining battery. After Safari crashed on me multiple times in a row while trying to start it up, I decided to delete a couple non-essential apps and restart the phone and see if that would fix things. Unfortunately it didn't, and upon rebooting the phone is stuck at the Apple logo boot screen.

    From what I understand, this may possibly be a known issue with the phone being near full storage capacity and being unable to execute temporary commands. There is also a chance of the issue being a corrupted OS. I haven't attempted any other actions so far apart from trying to force-restart (not successful) and waiting for the device to run out of power (still ongoing).

    My device is an iPhone 7, not sure about current iOS but I expect it is 11 (yes, I know...)

    I haven't been backing up my phone since 2019 and I've got a lot of travel photos on there (yes I know, really stupid of me, cloud storage maxed out and I never upgraded) and am currently trying to figure out if there is a solution that doesn't involve performing a device restore. I've had a look through some past threads both here and on Apple support forums and the general consensus is to put the device into recovery mode and try to update iOS, though there's very little info on whether these approaches actually ended up working in the end.

    My key questions about this are:

    • Is this option likely to be successful, what would be the result if it isn't successful (i.e. would it render data irretrievable)?
    • If there are any alternative solutions besides placing the phone in recovery mode?
    • Is there any way to manually back up my device prior to restoring if I need to resort to that?
    • Would going to a physical Apple store yield any better solutions?
    • I understand that this might result in having to turn towards data recovery services. Will they be able to recover data if the phone is already placed in recovery mode? What type of data is recoverable? I like writing so I like jotting down random notes and thoughts that spring to mind in the Notes app, I'd absolutely hate to lose that.

    Hi,

    I've got a really old iPod touch 4th gen I got as a gift back when it came out. I used it a lot at the time for photos and whatnot and used it for a couple years before I can't remember why I stopped. I put it away but I can't remember the password I set on it and I think its perma locked from when I last tried to get in, there was no way at the time like a year or so ago. Only now though to try here.

    Is there any way to get into it and retrieve my old files? Really can't remember much about it as its been over a decade since I first got it and probably 7-8 years since I last properly used it.

    Second Hand Apple Products on OfferUp.. Stolen?

    Hey apple gang how are you doing today,

    Let me preface this discussion by informing you throughout my escapades on OfferUp, I have tried to get multiple preowned devices but strayed away because of one thing; an invalidated purchase date(I always ask for the serial number). While it is quite possible they got the product from some weird retailer I have never heard of, my mind always goes to, "Yea this one got stolen" or "this is a real serial number still sitting on apple shelves and the guy just plastered it on a fake a product"

    Q: So I was wondering, I know we can check whether iPhones have been reported stolen through the IMEI, but is there a way to see if a pair of air-pods were stolen or an apple pencil?

    Q: Are there any methods that some of you employ to identify whether a second hand seller is selling something with a shady past?

    Q: Can a used apple product that has a validated purchase date and is still under warranty also be fake?

    If there is a better subreddit to ask this question at please lead the way. The apple subreddit did not seem appropriate, and apple swap did not have a discussion flair so I figured the post would get removed.

    Apple Pencil wont connect

    Hey y'all, I just got the 2021 iPad Pro and a second gen Apple Pencil 2 days ago. My Apple Pencil was not charging so I had my iPad forget the connection. When I tried to reconnect it, the Apple Pencil would not show up under my Bluetooth connections. Ive tried turning Bluetooth off an on, soft restart, hard restart, and forgot all network connections and still nothing. My pencil was at 70% battery when I forgot the connection. Any help is appreciated.

    Need some clarification of Mac OS install

    Hi,

    I recently purchase a Mac and is a bit confused with the installation process. Can you tell me if I gotten the following rights? Mac software can be installed using:

    1. Mac Appstore - these would be apps curated by Apple which means they are perfectly safe. This is equivalent to the Windows Appstore.
    2. Homebrew - This appears to be a command line package manager similar to linux yum or apt. The tool is often used by developers to develop development tools, which may not be in the appstore. Safety on homebrew is unknown. I am guessing less than Mac appstore, but more than individual packages.
    3. DMG or PKG files - these are zip version of install packages. These have to be super careful on where they originated.

    Potential water damage?

    so about 3 hrs ago I was out in the rain and I think I might have gotten water in my iphone 7 (old I know).. it was raining very heavy and I had my phone in my pocket turned on the side with my speaker n charging port facing upward. Now my phone is acting very buggy. I didn't notice till I got home (3 almost 4hrs after i was out in the rain), I noticed it was clicking things without me doing it, holding things down on its own, & certain places on the screen don't work when I touch them either (I have to press certain spots over and over to actually get them to work). I turned it all the way off as soon as I noticed and put it on a napkin standing up hoping maybe it would fix it. Idk what to do, could this be potential water damage? Is there a way to fix it or is it to late? I can't exactly get a new one any time soon and I use that phone for everything unfortunately.

    Left Airpod Pro Crackling When In Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode

    I got them almost a year ago in September 2020 at Best Buy, they been a issue for a while now like 2 months, but I figured I would have to deal with it. I realized yesterday that I still have the 1 year warranty for them. I also heard that Apple issued a statement saying if your Airpod pro was crackling and was made before October 2020 they will replace it and I got mine in September. Since I don't have an Apple Store near me I would have to go to best buy which is fine since that's where I bought it from and have the receipt on my best buy app. Whould Best Buy try to repair the AirPods or replace it? And would I be charged a fee for it?

    my new iPad Pro 2021 12.9 battery doesn’t last more than four hours, should I return it?

    I just got the iPad Pro 2021 12.9 inch last week and I'm having issues with the battery. I got the logitech combo touch keyboard with a smart connector. In the first week the iPad was lasting 12 hours and more. But after that it's only been lasting up to four hours.

    I know it could be because it's connected to a smart connector but I I have barely been using the iPad for apps that would drain battery. Also for the first couple days I got the iPad I was doing gaming on the iPad and the battery was still lasting. Recently I've been just scrolling through the Internet reading articles and taking notes and it can't last.

    I also have barely been using the combo touch keyboard and the battery is still draining like crazy.

    Even my 2014 iPad last longer than the new iPad, so there's some thing for sure wrong with it.

    Should I take it to the Apple store for them to replace it? I really do not know what to do now.

    iPhone skins vs cases guidelines?

    So there are a bunch of rules how iPhone cases should or shouldn't be designed. I see that nearly no case on Amazon has a precise cutout for the Apple logo, often they use transparent cases or a circle cutout. Why are iPhone skins not affected by this guideline? Is it because skins are not explicitly mentioned?

    Having trouble downloading a few albums from Apple Music.

    Hey all. I recently started downloading Dave Matthews Band albums from Apple Music. Most of them downloaded, but two in particular do not. I press the "+" for the album and the downfacing download arrow. It starts to download but then stops. I have tried other artists and it works fine. I have shut down and restarted my phone. My subscription has not lapsed.

    Any help would be appreciated.
