- Just bought an air m1 for my mom. I want her to use a good built pc for 5 years or more. I heard its almost 1 year old. Should I return it and wait a few months(able to wait)? Living in a 3rd world country will not be able to upgrade it every year or two. Bought for 860$ before tax.

One thing that I hear a lot about macOS is how it isn't as flexible (?) as windows when it comes to installing/cracking softwares. I've checked the temperature and it hits 85 Celsius the laptop gets extremely hot I can't barely touch it for a long time. So, Im not sure if play on it everyday will cause something bad. | Posted: 28 Jul 2021 04:41 PM PDT Okay so my MacBook Air plays the start up sound and then when I first load any video, the sound will play. But when I close that video or go to another, the sound doesn't play. I've updated to the new OS. I have tried resetting SMC and NRAM (but I'm not sure if those worked or if I did them correctly). I was using MacBook and drained full battery, I could not charged it for another few days. I have kept it on charging for whole night but no success. I tried to log in differently (using the Apple ID or the Command+R recovery mode solution) but it tells me that there was an error that occurred trying to connect to the Apple ID server. I have tried multiple internet connections but nothing works, and i don't know how to connect to the ethernet knowing that my Macbook is locked. | Posted: 28 Jul 2021 04:23 AM PDT Hi everyone! I have a MacBook Air (13 inch, early 2014) and have never had any issues with it. I recently say a notification saying "service recommended" and have noticed that the battery life when not connected to the charger is only around 3 hours. I'm guessing I need to get the battery replaced. The apple store/repairs does not service my model anymore so would be going to a non-apple place to get it replaced. Has anyone replaced their batteries and is this something I should do or is it not worth it and I should just replace the whole laptop? [link] [comments]  | ||

I am able to use it by connecting the MacBook to an external monitor via a HDMI cable. I have an ASUS laptop(X415JA) lying around which I want to use as a monitor instead of the external monitor. | Posted: 28 Jul 2021 02:54 AM PDT I want to buy my first MacBook Air - I'm learning programming so it will be mainly used for it. The thing that stops me from buying M1 is that the upcoming M1X will have 14inch screen and smaller screen bezels (at least thats what we know from the leaks/rumors) The question is if it should really bother me? I mean if the difference will be really recognizable in user experience? I've never had a laptop before so I'm not sure if the 13inch screen laptops are ok for learning and other stuff like that. I've seen the laptop on my own eyes but didn't have a chance to use it. What do you think? [link] [comments]  |
