After several minutes of watching, the screen goes black, the standard HDMI screen comes up and then it comes back on several seconds after the little spinning wheel appears. It will still control the volume and it will still shut off the television when putting my Apple TV to sleep, it just won't power the tv on. | Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen) - ARC settings not working with Samsung television. Can anyone help? Posted: 01 Jun 2021 05:13 PM PDT Like the title says, I have a Samsung television (Model Code: UN65KS800D) with ARC support (the e-manual says it supports ARC but doesn't provide any helpful information other than I need to plug the HDMI into "ARC" slot). Every time I try to turn "Play Television Audio" on, I am welcomed with the message "Unable to Set Up Audio Return Channel. Apple TV hasn't received a response from your television, but will keep trying to connect. Make sure your television's HDMI port supports ARC, CEC is enabled, and that no sound bars or AV receivers are attached." My HDMI port support ARC, CEC is enabled, and the only other connections are my video game consoles. I am currently using Anker's Ultra High Speed Cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MZYQ43S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Is there something I'm doing wrong? Until yesterday, they always streamed in nice quality. Since then, they've been a blocky mess. I've streamed content from other apps and purchased iTunes movies/shows, and they always look fine. I have no problem running speed tests all day and getting a consistent connection. I've restarted the Apple TV, updated, restarted router/modem, no change. Anyone have any clue what's going on? My remote does nothing, power cycling does nothing. Light blinks and nothing displays on the screen. Light never stops blinking. | Odd behavior with 2021 Apple TV Posted: 01 Jun 2021 01:52 PM PDT So I got the new Apple TV, it's connected via HDMI to my Anthem MRX 540 Receiver, and my LG TV is connected to the receiver via HDMI as well. With my Xbox One S setup in the same way, I turn on the xbox and all three turn on and I can control the volume via the receiver. When I turn it off, everything goes off. With the Apple TV remote it will turn on the TV but not the receiver, if I manually turn on the receiver it then will control the volume and work fine. Then when I turn it off, it turns off the receiver but leaves the TV on... Any clue why this would be happening? [link] [comments]  | ||

I don't think it makes sense to pay for an additional cable service in my summer home so I was thinking of just downloading the "cable" apps (ABC, CBS, FOX, etc.) on my Apple TV and using that. How is the experience of switching apps? Or even content discovery? It would be used mainly for sports. My main house has Optimum. Any input and experience would be helpful. Thank you! In the past I've done Monoprice cables, which i know are highly recommended in this sub and beyond. But I'm needing an in-wall cable, and would prefer 48gbps (I'm just guessing I'd want as much bandwidth as I can get?), and in the 10-15ft range I'm not seeing that Monoprice offers this combo, which seems strange.
