Apple TV 4K 6th gen remote cases? Posted: 05 May 2021 08:23 AM PDT Has anyone found any new Apple TV 4K remote cases for sale? I'm sure the new remote is better, but having a nice silicone surface wrapped around the remote always works best for me. [link] [comments]
new appletv performance comparison Posted: 05 May 2021 01:26 PM PDT I have an appletv HD. Games like Fantasia, Beyond a steel sky and Oceanhorn 2 are really laggy on it. Is the new one any better there or am I better off waiting another generation? [link] [comments]

Using an AirPlay 2 speakers or soundbar as main speaker for Apple TV Posted: 05 May 2021 09:18 AM PDT For anyone with this setup, does it work? Are there lip-sync issues or other any other issues? I'm aware that you can't make a non-HomePod speaker the default... [link] [comments]
5th Gen Apple TV 4K apps and their audio info? Posted: 05 May 2021 12:34 PM PDT Someone is offering me a 5th Gen Apple TV 4K and I can't seem to find any list of streaming services it has apps for. The benefit I'm looking for is better, multichannel, audio than PC streaming. Ideally I need to know the sound parameter of streams the apps are capable of, resolution, HDR, DV etc. after that. Is there some place that just lists the apps and their supported audio? TIA! [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 05:36 AM PDT Is it supposed to work with OLEDs? I was in 4K SDR mode I didn't get an error exactly, but it made no adjustments and said my TV was already colour accurate. I've never had it professionally calibrated. Maybe OLEDs confuse it? Maybe mine just happens to be colour correct? Anyone else run into this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 06:51 AM PDT Thanks!! I know eArc is the newer version. If it has either Arc or eArc can the ATV remote control the TV on or off or does it have to have only the newer eArc type not the Arc type? Or is if nothing to do with either and instead it's only the HDMI CEC standard it needs..? Thanks guys [link] [comments]
Redesigned YouTube app: had it, now it’s back to the old version- anyone else?! Posted: 05 May 2021 12:45 PM PDT Hi everyone~ ok, sooo- I have an Apple TV 4K on tvOS 14.5. YouTube app version: 2.06.2100/web_20210330_00_RC00 I was having issues where only the same aerial screen saver would loop over and over and after lots of troubleshooting and calls with Apple Support, decided to erase and setup again. After setting it up, it had to re-download all the apps, including YouTube (oh, that did at least fix the screen saver issue), and when I opened it up and signed back into my account (YouTube Premium), it was the old version of YouTube, not the redesigned one. Edit: added YouTube app version [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 07:38 AM PDT Trying to find out anything online and coming up empty...does anyone know which game controllers with an accelerometer (motion control) are supported on the Apple TV? Specifically when trying to use in conjunction with Steam Link? Supposedly the Apple TV supports motion control, but the two controllers listed on Apple.com don't. It specifically calls out the Dualshock 4's motion controls as not being supported:
Is this a lost cause? Does the Apple TV simply not support motion control outside of it's own older remotes? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 04:20 PM PDT And then I thought this new one that just came out was the fifth one But it seems that the 3rd Gen is 9 years old and has no App Store and Pre installed apps etc. So surely that isn't the HD one that's been available to buy on Apple website for the last year or so, or more. I myself had the 4K one, bought it in January. This one will be for my gfs HD TV (non 4K TV). Just been reading too about 6th gen ATV. So now I am completely confused. Also I thought ATB would be updated for many years and did really view it as I view the usual tech product and assumed since it was TV Box it would last a very long time. I assume that's now not the case? What we talking 6 years or life then Apple stop updating the OS? Anyway main question is what good up to date recent HD ATV options are there. Doesn't need to be the latest. Just confused how many ATVs there are now 😂 [link] [comments]
Convince me - Apple TV 4K vs. Smart TV apps Posted: 05 May 2021 09:17 AM PDT Yes. Another topic about Apple TV 4K vs Smart TV. I do this because I don't really find answers about what makes an Apple TV 4K better than Smart TV. I'm in the Apple eco-system (MBP, AW, iPhone, iPads, and Airpods) and I recently got a Smart TV: LG OLED55CX with all its amazing features. I saw the last Apple Keynote and I think the Apple TV 4K is pretty cool. But, I don't understand the value compared to a Smart TV. HomeKit and AirPlay are in my Smart TV. Same for Netflix, Disney+, etc. If I get an Apple TV 4K, it would be mostly for watching content on streaming apps. I will test Apple Arcade but definitely, it's not a big deal for me. I saw people telling the Apple TV 4K is the best box you can have, a must-have for my TV, etc. But, why? I don't understand. Maybe, it's not for me but I want to understand. So please, could you tell me what makes the Apple TV 4K better than a Smart TV (WebOS, Android TV, or whatever) and why should I buy one? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 05:29 AM PDT every other app works fine. when I go to watch the new mayans episode on hulu on our apple tv, it says the HDMI cable is "incomparable with this content" but it never had a issue before. and it played hbo max, other shows on hulu at first. played youtube and Netflix and every other service fine. I restarted it but the issue persisted. deleted and reinstalled the app on the tv. still happening. has this happened to anyone else and what can I do to fix it? the tv works fine in every other sense. I just got this apple tv 4k about 3 weeks ago. thanks in advance edit: I should clarify. it works fine on my xps 13, samsung tablet, note 20, mac pro, switch and chromecast . only the apple tv is issue [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 05:11 AM PDT i have a apple tv 4k i live in ireland if that affects anything and i've lost the original power cable that comes with the thing, would a 250v power cable work with it? specifically the one from the back of my ps4 [link] [comments] |
