Good News About M1 MacBook Pro Speakers Posted: 06 May 2021 01:51 PM PDT Hey, some of you might have seen my M1 MBP review I posted here a while ago. One thing I mentioned was the speakers on the M1 Pro were super quiet and I had to have it up to at least 75% max just to be somewhat usable. I'm pleased to say that after 11.3 or 11.3.1 (not sure which, I updated to 11.3 late and .1 came out like the next day) my speakers are noticeably louder. Putting them at 75% now seems to be almost too loud (a nice problem) and 50-60% is a comfortable spot, at least for YouTube. I'll have to experiment around some more, but it does seem like promising improvement. Anyone else noticing this? [link] [comments]

M1 MacBook Air battery health down to 97% after 45 cycle counts. Posted: 07 May 2021 12:28 AM PDT this may have been posted many times before but I am especially worried because I don't do heavy work and bought just three months ago. should I be worried? It went from 99% to 97% in a span of just a month. [link] [comments]
Just ordered my first MacBook. Posted: 06 May 2021 09:47 PM PDT PC guy my whole life. Have an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. First things I should do when I get it? Must have apps? Best way to conquer the learning curve? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Wait for M2 / M1X or Buy the M1 Mac? Posted: 06 May 2021 09:28 PM PDT Self explanatory title, should we wait or buy the M1 right now in May 2021? Will the M2 / M1X have just very slight improvements? Would it be worth it to wait for them to come? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2021 08:06 PM PDT Hey everyone, I'm about to buy my first MacBook, and I have some issues. I was thinking of buying the Air, with 16Gb of RAM, and 256Gb Rom, but a friend told me to get the Pro. I'm using it for my college, and sometimes editing videos (1080p 60fps) or making some music just sometimes doing more than normal things. What are your thoughts? Any advice ? [link] [comments]
MBA M1 (very minor) issues after 3 months Posted: 06 May 2021 09:04 AM PDT I have joined and have had the entry-level MBA M1 since early February and it has been amazing. I love the simplicity and easy connection with my other apple products. The quality is great and the battery life is smashing it. I only have two minor issues and was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced them: (1) When opening a new tab on safari, sometimes it takes a while and I get that rainbow circling icon for a few seconds until the new tab pops up (happens maybe once every safari startup but subsequent new tabs are [mostly] back to normal speed) (2) This is specific to browsing reddit and is probably just a bug on my side but any tips would be welcome. When I am on reddit and want to go to the previous page (either by pressing the upper left "left arrow" or using the two-finger swiper gesture), it appears to go to the previous page but a second later it's back on the page I was just on with no way back. I have to always go back to the reddit homepage again. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2021 07:02 PM PDT When you're moving the trackpad on the phone, the cursor is on a completely different part of the actual computer screen, which makes it impossible to use remote access unless your computer is right in front of you. Is there any way to fix this ? (using a 12 pro max and 2020 MacBook Pro,intel) [link] [comments]

Is the Magic Keyboard the same keyboard as the Early 2015 MacBook Pro's keyboard? Posted: 06 May 2021 06:17 PM PDT I ask because I only use my early 2015 MacBook Pro for typing school papers because I find it to be an absolutely perfect keyboard for me and my hands. But that seems to be the only thing I really find useful about my MacBook these days. I'm just wondering if the Magic Keyboard is the same keyboard or not because if so that would be amazing and then I can sell my MacBook and just use the Magic Keyboard with my desktop keyboard. MacBook Pro 2013 13 inch - Where to buy replacement spacebar membrane springs? Posted: 06 May 2021 11:02 AM PDT Hi. I appreciate the age of this device, however I have recently bought one of these MacBook variants rather cheaply for my personal use. The only issue which the seller had explained about in the listing was a dodgy spacebar. Upon opening it up, one was greeted with the expected spacebar contents, however, there was some membrane springs missing. It's meant to have three separate ones and mine had one singular one. Is there anywhere that you know that would sell a replacement like this without having to spend a ludicrous sum on a whole replacement keyboard which seems environmentally poor taste. Thank you graciously for any responses, Kind Regards, Awaiting your response EDIT: I'm based in Britain which in retrospect I should have put it because most of the Reddit user base is apparently American. Macbook Pro 2019 Not Recognizing 2nd Monitor through USB-C Hub Posted: 06 May 2021 08:08 AM PDT Hey all, Up until recently, I'd been happily using my Macbook Pro 2018 for work, using 2 external monitors, keyboard and mouse. The first monitor is directly connected via Displayport-to-USB-C, and the 2nd is Displayport connected to a USB-C hub (that also connects keyboard and mouse). I recently upgraded my work laptop from Macbook Pro 2018 to Macbook Pro 2019, and now everytime I wake up, restart, or switch over to the laptop via KVM, I have to unplug and reinsert the USB-C hub in order for the 2nd monitor to be recognized. I've tried restarting the SMC to no effect. When I tried plugging the DisplayPort to USB-C monitor into the hub, the laptop won't recognize it at all. Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this? My third USB-C slot is occupied by a yubikey so I'm limited to just those two ports. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2021 12:54 PM PDT Hey everyone, So I didnt have a problem with it before.... I use Adblock Plus and it stopped working on youtube. Have others also experienced this? Case or skin for my new MacBook m1 air? Posted: 06 May 2021 09:46 AM PDT I have been using cases on my MacBooks for years but after buying a brand new one I want to make sure it lasts in its best condition for years. I've read that using hard cases can damage the screen and cause scratches so I've been looking at skins. The issues is the dbrand skins are all very boring and unappealing to me. Also will a screen protect my mba when going out? Any skins that aren't just solid colors to recommend? [link] [comments]
Is it safe to use PD through USB-C Hub now? (Big Sur 11.3) Posted: 06 May 2021 09:35 AM PDT I have an Anker USB-C Hub which I want to use for charging. There are lots of horror stories online PD through USB-C hubs bricking M1 Macbooks. Further research led me to the Apple MacOS updates page, where it says the problem has been fixed as of update 11.2.2. I got my Macbook 5 days ago and it came shipped with 11.3. Is it safe to use my USB-C hub for charging now? Were there any reports of continued bricking with M1 Macbooks with 11.2.2 and later? [link] [comments]
MacBook Pro M1 or 16 inch MacBook Pro 2019 Posted: 06 May 2021 07:58 AM PDT Hi! I want to buy a new MacBook Pro . I want to use it for at least 5 years for Computer Engineering classes. (I'll start study engineering this year) . But I'm so confused . MacBook Pro M1 with 16gb ram looks cheaper than the 16 inch one . My expectations from a laptop;
I want to buy 16 inch one but It has been 1.5 years since It was released . Should I wait for 16 inch with M1X/M2 chip ? Is M1 MacBook Pro will be enough for an engineer ? The heaviest game I play will be Cs:Go . I'm planning to use it almost all day , which ones battery is better and uses lower power . Specs: M1 MacBook Pro : 16gb ram 521gb ssd 16 inch MacBook Pro : 16gb ram 512gb ssd i7 cpu Radeon Pro 5300 gpu [link] [comments]
Any chance of a black 13" Macbook Air or Pro in the future? Posted: 06 May 2021 11:09 AM PDT What do you think about a black Macbook? iPhones have always come in black and it's the only color I buy. Same with cars - always black for me. Some windows laptops have been going black lately. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2021 06:31 AM PDT So I had a "demo" some time back from a friend who took a VM from my Windows laptop and ran it on his Macbook and I was sold! Been using Windows since it was a thing but slowly moving into the Apple ecosystem. Looking at buying an Air or Pro but the tech specs seem identical except for a few minor details. This will be my work daily machine that I do everything with:
I like a smaller platform and from what I've seen from previous macs, they can handle a single VM with 16GB of ram without breaking a sweat. Is there ANY reason that I should look at the pro? [link] [comments]
MacBook Flexgate and some questions Posted: 06 May 2021 06:03 AM PDT Hello guys :) I want to buy the 2020 Intel MacBook Pro, and I'm afraid of the MacBook Flexgate. Does anybody know about this? The news I've learned is that 2020 edition still hasn't repaired this problem...I really want to buy a MacBook, should I wait for the new MacBook version in June or July or September? Or just buy the 2020 intel edition?Thanks! [link] [comments]
Backup PC/MacMini for MacBook Pro Posted: 06 May 2021 02:10 AM PDT Keen to see what's your backup plan in case your primary laptop fails (let's say M1). I always had 2 windows laptops, but recently sold both cars and now the only unit I have is a MacBook Pro M1. So I was wondering if I should get a Mac mini or perhaps a custom build PC - keep MacBook Pro for travel usage (future use "thanks covid") or in case the PC/mini fails. Worth buying another system or should I stick to one MacBook Pro. Thought and suggestions?? [link] [comments] |
