Posted: 13 May 2021 03:38 PM PDT Fun times! For some reason, Apple Card (or Goldman Sachs) recently decided to change the name that shows up on people's bank statements when they make a payment- and forgot to tell their customers. They changed it from "APPLECARD GSBANK" (makes sense!) to "MARCUS" (what the fuck?) I was going over my statement and had no idea what the hell this "Marcus" was. My brilliant theory was somebody had used my account number to get something at Neuman Marcus. Had to make a claim to get the money "back", open a new account and change all autopays. Then this morning I get the notice that my Apple Card payment was denied. It all clicked when I saw the exact amount the Marcus thief had "stolen". I called Apple Card and they apologized and even admitted many customers have had the same problem since they changed names. I don't even know if this is the right sub for this post, so apologies if it isn't. I guess I'm just venting and hoping to relate with someone who went through something similar, or even warn folks who might go through the same. Marcus is your friend. [link] [comments]

What are you expecting from “Apple Music HiFi” and AirPods Max? Posted: 13 May 2021 02:40 PM PDT Lots of rumors and mentions in the iOS 14.6 beta that HiFi as well as Dolby Audio could be coming to Apple Music soon. I tried AirPods Max and actually didn't find the sound quality or noise canceling to be $100s better than my relatively new Bose headphones (transparency mode was nice though) so I returned them. Now that HiFi might come to Apple Music, are you expecting a noticeable leap in audio quality? Dolby Atmos Music has spatial awareness and we know these headphones can track their position so that could be cool if they implemented that. Also, since these are Bluetooth headphones, is it known for certain that they can't support audio bandwidths more than 256kbps AAC? Is it possible Apple is hiding HiFi playback from us that just wasn't ready for prime time at launch or is the hardware just incapable of any higher bandwidth? If HiFi materializes and it's much better I might pick up the AirPods Max again because I did really like the build quality and iPhone integration as well as transparency mode. [link] [comments]
