    Anybody else noticed that the new iPad’s speaker grills are smaller than the previous’? The one with the black magic keyboard is a 2020 pro 11 inch and the one with the white a 2021 pro 11 inch. Would there be a differince in sound quality?

    Those at LumaFusion recently announced a roadmap which showcases/showcased a bunch of new features expected to arrive in the upcoming months. They announced the ability to edit footage directly off an external drive without having to first store it on your device.

    This statement ended up confusing a lot of people due to them explicitly mentioning the use of a Thunderbolt IV port, something only the newest iPad Pro would have. Would my iPad be supported?

    This made little sense to me. I had to confirm with their support team. They confirmed with me over Twitter that this update will/would support any iPad equipped with Universal Serial Bus Type-C (USB-C). They did suggest that you use the fastest external drive one could get their hands on for the best performance.

    Shower thought: The crowd that are vocal about wanting to replace their laptops with an iPad running MacOS, are probably a similar group that would never even consider a 13” MacBook with only 1 USB-C port

    I doubt that MacOS would be the magic bullet needed for people to actually ditch their Mac laptops.

    Let alone their desktops.

    Can the iPad Pro be used to back up footage to one or multiple drives while being powered?

    Are there any apps that specialise in securely backing up footage?

    If so I'm getting the M1 iPad for sure.

    I've got a 1000cm/300cm piece of wood and have no idea how to make a easy to make stand for my iPad to use as a display to stream my Xbox games to it place it on my knees and play.

    I am waiting for iPad Pro M1 reviews since its launch. I guess Youtubers already have it as they had Airtags and purple iPhone 12.

    Anyways will order mine on 30th but still it would be nice to watch some videos before ordering one.

    How to buy? Payment plan?

    Is there anyway to buy the iPad on a payment plan without opening up an Apple Credit Card?

    I'm probably just horribly missing something, but I'm not seeing anyway to do a payment plan without opening a credit card.

    If opening a credit card with Apple is the only way, any drawbacks or anything? Is it just like any other credit card?

    My only credit card experience is with one my grandma put in my name so I can build credit here and there, so I'm a bit new and wary of having another one.

    What is the difference between an A series chip and the M1 for the iPad? Did architecture change?

    iPadOS and FileVault support for external drives

    Given that I've only found a couple confusing (erred) references to FV2 and iPad, I'm guessing that iPadOS does not support this solution. Unfortunately all my external drives need to have encryption; ideally this would also include sparse bundles.

    Other than a NAS/cloud solution, any suggestions on using direct attached external SSD with iPadOS?
