I don't care for Airplay or Apple Arcade or anything like that. I only use it as a streaming box. I originally got it so that I could watch my iTunes movies on my TV. My smart TV doesn't support the app so I kept it and have been thoroughly enjoying it but now that the TV app itself is on PlayStation, I have little use for the box. What do you guys think? I just purchased my second HomePod today and was excited to finally use Stereo Pair and use it with my Apple TV 4K. However, when I connect my stereo pair to my ATV, any shows I watch keep pausing intermittently. The show won't start up again until I press play. | One year of free Apple TV+ not showing up Posted: 24 Mar 2021 04:55 PM PDT I bought a new iPad last summer and I remember seeing the announcement of one year free AppleTV when I first opened the app. I only ended up watching one episode of something and today I've just gone to use the app again and it's telling me to sign up for £4.99 a month, but my free trial should still be active. Does anybody know how to fix this? I tried deleting and downloading the app again. I looked at Support on the Apple website to see if I could chat to someone but it said it was too busy to offer that service. Plz halp. [link] [comments]  | ||

When I press the home button on my SkyQ remote, it turns on the AppleTV box. I already have HDMI control turned off on the AppleTV box as the remote kept glitching out with the volume. | Amazon Prime App on 4th gen AppleTv Posted: 24 Mar 2021 10:59 AM PDT I wonder if anyone has any other options. Currenly have a 4th gen AppleTV and it works fine minus the Prime app will not play any videos.I've tried through the native apple tv app, AND through the Prime app directly. Both cases, when you select a video and click play it only displays a 'Something went wrong' error and to visit Amazon's Prime app help page. I've tried all the steps there, including turning it on/off. uninstalling/reinstalling the app, logging out/in to the app, reseting the AppleTV to factory defaults, ensure the most recent app and appletv version is installed. I'm at a headscratcher and I can't figure it out, also Amazon is just useless as they keep referring me to their self-help page which none of the steps help. EDIT: I can play prime videos fine on my iOS devices and firesticks. In fact, I can start the video on my iphone then airplay it to the appletv and it works [link] [comments]  | ||
| Is there an HDMI/ARC splitter compatible with an ATV? Posted: 24 Mar 2021 12:38 PM PDT I'm looking to try and get an ARC signal from my ATV4K for my soundbar. Unfortunately, my TV has some really aggressive auto-input switching that doesn't seem possible to disable. As a result, it keeps trying to go to the soundbars "download our app" input. This happens with basically everything, but it's particularly annoying here. My solution for the moment is to disconnect the soundbar and just use airplay, but that's not really suitable long term. Over on r/Sonos they recommend the HDfury for similar situations (bypassing the TV) would that work here? From what I gather, the ATV doesn't like splitters though. TL/DR; is it possible to get HDMI ARC directly out of an ATV via an external device/adapter? [link] [comments]  | ||

No matter how I play around with the files names or the folder - it always never gets the metadata for Season 7 of The Walking Dead. Any idea why this would happen? Can I somehow trick it to work?
