| Posted: 01 Feb 2021 01:49 PM PST Hey guys/gals.. my son recently passed away in a motorcycle accident and my wife and i have only just been able to raise our noses out of the river of grief.. he owned an iPhone that has soo many pics and videos of him that we would love to have. Unfortunately i dont know his passcode to get into the phone to retrieve them. I picked up his death certificate (can't believe im even saying that) so i have proof of his passing. | Posted: 01 Feb 2021 11:47 AM PST I went to sell my iPhone SE to someone off Facebook today. While they were inspecting the phone, they opened up a few apps ... News and then Maps, I think? I couldn't tell for sure. He was typing something in on the keyboard when all of a sudden the phone powered off with over 70% battery and he didn't want to buy it. This seemed weird because it was almost like the buyer suspected/was checking the phone to see if this specific issue was going to happen when he used a feature in the app he opened. I tried to ask him what happened or what he did but there was a language barrier and he never answered. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue ... the situation seemed sketchy and in a sketch area. He wanted me to come and sit in his car instead of standing outside the bank we met at (I refused of course 😂). There was a security guard at the bank. I'm only mentioning this part because I was getting a weird vibe and I got a sense he expected there could/would be a problem while he was fiddling with the phone. Am wondering if he might have just powered it off himself with the power button and I didn't notice, and then he pretended something was wrong with the phone since I wouldn't go over to his car where he could rob me 😂 I hard reset the phone afterwards... So is there some kind of known issue in certain apps that triggers these phones to shut off or do you think the guy shut it off himself? 🤔 [link] [comments]  |

There are two vertical lines across the screen where touch doesnt work and i cant type on the keyboard. My phone is in otherwise great condition and i have never broken my screen or even scratched it. I don't really know what is causing the issue or how to fix it and would appreciate any insight. | 12 Pro Max Wireless Charging quirk Posted: 01 Feb 2021 08:50 PM PST 12 Pro Max wireless charging quirk I've had a 12 pro Max for several weeks now. My first case, otter box commuter would not allow wireless charging via the yootech charger I used for over a year with my 11 pro. I swapped to a symmetry MagSafe case and wireless charging worked no problem. Due to camera issue, Apple provided a warranty replacement. I put the replacement device in the symmetry case, and I'm greatly surprised that wireless charging is not working now. I removed the case, and it does work, but then back into the case and still no go. I get why certain cases may prevent wireless charging, but it makes no sense why I get different results with the same case. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

Skype Crashing and the whole phone lagging when I go back to my Home Screen Instagram randomly freezing Severe drops in charge at random (one day it will hold charge normal, next day it will drop from 60 to 15 in less than 20 minutes.) Not recognising the charger whatsoever Not being able to activate Face ID or Face deciding not to work. Posted: 01 Feb 2021 06:18 PM PST First of all, I'm using the latest OS available but the issue also happened with previous OS. This is a weird issue and I've been experiencing it for 2 or 3 years now, I didn't have this issue before, it started happening after 3 years or something, I have an iPhone 5S and the issue is as follows: If the iPhone is locked you need to press the Home Button to go to the password screen, the issue is that the Home Button doesn't work 100% of the time for some reason, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't (it doesn't work 70% of the time and works 30% of the time), however, if the iPhone is unlocked (because I can unlock it 100% of the time with Touch ID) then the Home Button works 100% of the time for everything else. If I lock the iPhone and try to unlock it again by pressing the Home Button I get the same issue, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but like I said, Touch ID does work 100% of the time and once unlocked the Home Button works 100% of the time for everything else. I found it really bizarre since I wasn't even using the phone. Also, it's not jailbroken and I didn't install any app or software outside of the App store. I tried searching for the issue online and a few people complained the same happened to them, but there was never an answer towards the problem. | How to remove activation Lock remotely with password Posted: 01 Feb 2021 02:06 PM PST Models I have tried it with 5c 6*2 iOS versions not entirely sure but I think iOS 12 and 11 My cousin gave me their phone to keep, I fixed but it is activation locked. It has their iCloud account on it. They tried to remove it online however the lock is still on it even after connecting to WiFi. I then tried it with my own phone (wiping it without giving my iCloud password) I then removed it from my account but when I connect to WiFi the online find my iPhone doesn't register that it's location has updated. What do I do as I would rather not post it to them for them to type in the passcode if it can be done remotely. I have tried following the apple support page however when the phone connects to WiFi fit doesn't seem that find my iPhone registers that when they are activation locked. | Screen replacement on iPhone 11 causes phone to shut off if used Posted: 01 Feb 2021 11:11 AM PST I recently took on the task of repairing my front and rear screen on my iPhone 11. When I went to turn it back on, I got the typical "Unable to verify if display is geniune." notification which is what I was expecting. Except when I first started to use my phone, it would self-restart every 2-3 minutes. If I don't use the phone at all, it takes much longer (up to an hour, maybe) before it restarts itself. Wondering if it might just be a bad screen, I plugged in my old, broken screen with a cracked digitizer and it did the same thing. Although, I didn't connect the speaker part...just the screen. I also ran the phone without a screen/speaker attached and played a song to see how long it would last and the same thing. Phone would restart after 2-3 minutes. I went ahead and ordered a new screen just in case it is a bad screen, but could it possibly be something else? Can anyone direct me in the right direction? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 01 Feb 2021 10:33 AM PST So the battery health of my iphone 7+ was 74% so i went to change the battery. Before i changed the battery, i updated ios 14.4 that morning. After changing battery (original apple battery they said) my iphone 7+ keeps dying at 6% charge(imean when it drains from 6 to 5).its like that 5% is now 0% charge. They gave 2 years of battery warranty(not replaced from official apple store). Btw the phone seems to drop framerate when its at 6% charge only. So should i go to store and claim warranty? Different computer/cables/ports won't detect it. iTunes doesn't detect it as well. Today i sent an audio message on WhatsApp and the person replied to me: your audio is empty. And it was! Then i tried sending other audio msgs and they were all empty. It seems that the microphone is not working. BUT: when i record a video, the mic is working. The only apps that the mic is not working are: WhatsApp, Voice memos, Telegram. What i did to try to fix it: I reset all settings. I updated iOS. I updated WhatsApp. I turn off and turn on the iPhone. Nothing makes it work. What can i do? Did anyone ever have some similar issue? I am having some issues with the display. When I am in a completely black room (in bed at night) and view something that is completely black, and the brightness is set on anything below 90% (ideally 50%), there is a weird gray/green glow on the screen that disappears after a few seconds. I thought that these problems would be fixed by now. I know there are other posts talking about this, but they not very recent. Do you think I should return my phone? Would I get a replacement or they would attempt to replace my screen? You can see the problem I'm talking about in the following video: You can replicate the problem by going to a pitch black room, set the brightness to 50% and view an image or a video that is completely black.
