| Why would an iPhone 7 stop recognizing correct password Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:57 PM PST I'm not looking for advice on how to bypass a password My wife is freaking out because her iPhone 7 won't accept her known password She has no iCloud backup, but that's her fault We're just really curious what would cause this? She has no clue what iOS version she had installed, and if one was updated recently She admitted she constantly has full storage, and has to delete apps, pictures, etc to keep the bare minimum of available storage capacity available, could this cause something to corrupt the password database? I have tried to reset the settings and even erase all content from the phone, but it still powers off after about 30 seconds. I have taken it to the Apple support center as Best Buy but they wanted to charge me $400 to replace it. | Cannot type letter "I" or "8;" everything else working properly Posted: 09 Feb 2021 07:43 PM PST Title mostly says it.... I can't type "I". It's like it's just a dead zone. Sometimes it enters an O, sometimes it enters a U, and sometimes pressing I will cause it to rapidly enter an Ou. When swipe-typing, swiping over the "I" key generally ends whatever word I'm typing. I don't have on a screen guard, don't have a case, and have no visible damage anywhere. I don't have any shortcuts in my keyboard dictionary, and using a third-party keyboard (tested w/ Gboard) had the same issue. Power cycling seems to help occasionally, but that may well just be coincidence. I haven't tried a factory reset yet, but wouldn't be opposed to trying. Every other key in the keyboard (with the exception of "8" - same location as I) works properly, and I don't have any other issues with any other part of the screen. I thought it kind of seemed like some sort of physical issue with the screen and/or digitizer, but I've never heard of such an issue being so precisely localized. I am on iOS beta 14.5 (18E5140k) but I've had the issue for a couple of beta releases now, so I haven't bothered posting in that sub yet, unless I get some indication that it's beta related. I have a Samsung super fast charger (45 watt) with usb C PD. I have been using this charger to charge my iPhone and it really charges up fast (50% in <30 mins) The problem is while charging the phone gets warm/hot (not super hot) and it is concerning because I read somewhere that you should only use Apple power brick to charge your IPhone. Should I buy a new 20w power brick or continue charging with my Samsung charger ? [link] [comments]  |

Today i decided to change the password of my apple id , and i clicked on log off on all sessions . Now my iphone doesn't show up in find my iphone anymore but i can still see it under "devices linked to this account" in the apple-id website . About 6 hours later I noticed growing black spots in two corners of the screen, I'm thinking this is the lcd bleeding? How is this possible even though the screen isn't cracked? I am trying to move to a new phone and want to use my backup to transfer data. Current phone is iPhone 11 Pro 256Gb, running iOS 14.4. I have tried three different computers for backup 2019 iMac 5k with Big Sur and Catalina OS 2012 MacBook Pro with Catalina OS 2017 Dell Latitude with Windows 10 2 different cables - Apple brand USB-A to lightning, USB-C to lightning I've transferred off all my photos (> 100GB) and offloaded most of my apps. There are a couple of apps left and my iMessages which is ~17 GB. I always end up with the same read/write error at the very end of the backup progress indicator. I even attempted setting up the new iPhone (iPhone 12 pro) with direct transfer from the 11, but that results in a failed transfer. Any suggestions on how to backup my phone successfully? Basically on the widget it'll say 1 hour 45 minutes on screen time , but on settings it'll say 2 hours on screen time. So basically it'll not update straight away. | Iphone 11 battery and charging query and issue Posted: 09 Feb 2021 03:45 PM PST Hi, my Iphone 11 is pretty new and my cable to charge it isnt working anymore . cos of lockdown issues and transport issues i cant get to a supermarket to buy a cable, so I switched my phone off at 3% charge level 2 hours ago. In about 12 hours I can nip to the shops and get a cable to recharge my phone, will my battery hitting 3% or less and staying there for 12 hours be damaging for my phones battery life? Pretty newly bought iphone and im quite paranoid about ruining the battery so early on. Will waiting until tomorrow afternoon to buy a new charger and charge my iphone cause any damage? | Posted: 09 Feb 2021 02:42 PM PST So my iPhone X speakers one day just randomly stopped working after night out, it was in my bag the whole time and I was moving and jumping around a lot that night. Weeks later I powered off my iPhone, took my case off it then turned it back on, then it worked again. This sequence was a fix for a short while but the speakers would suddenly stop working eventually for no reason. I'm so lost and actually have zero clue what the issue could be. They are clearly not broken as sometimes when I power my phone on and off, they randomly just turn on again. Another thing is when I go in sound and haptics settings and start sliding the ringer and alerts, my phone freezes until I return back to Home Screen, there's no sound. Can't find any useful info on the apple support pages nor through any Google searches.
