    Removing shortcuts on Facebook app

    On the iPhone, in the app settings, you can turn off some of the shortcuts at the bottom of the screen (Friends, Marketplace, and Watch.) The iPad version of the app does not seem to have this option. Is there some other way to do this?

    What Am I Missing? iPad as Portal into Remote Environments

    Does anybody use their iPad (Pro or otherwise) as a portal into multiple remote desktop environments? I've been thinking about simplifying my desk setup. Currently, I use an old MBA (personal device) to remote into a work computer via Microsoft Remote Desktop, which works pretty well. I also already have Jump Desktop (can't use it for work computer, though).

    I don't have a lot of desk space, so my thought is to have the iPad, say, flat on my desk and plugged into an external monitor for ergonomics. All peripherals connected to the iPad. Then I can move the other devices elsewhere where I've got the space, and remote into work computer using RDP and personal Mac using Jump, and be able to switch between them as you would any app.

    Curious if anybody has experience/tips/cautionary tales with something like this. Seems like it would be the perfect setup ... am I missing something (other than poor external support, but I think Jump mitigates that, not sure yet about RDP).

    ADVICE: Working With Pediatric ICU Patients and iPads - Eye Tracking

    I work with pediatric patients and research/implement new adaptive or assistive technology for them. I do a LOT of work with them, with iPads! This post is specifically geared towards patients in an ICU setting. A lot of these kids have severe mobility deficits, ie. it's hard or impossible for them to traditionally use an iPad or similar devices. Some can't speak, and therefore can't utilize Siri or other speech apps. Many patients can quite literally only move their eyes. But, with emerging technology like eye tracking, there must be some resources out there I could implement!

    I'm looking specifically to see if there is some sort of bluetooth controller or glasses for the iPad that uses eye-tracking technology so patients could control their iPad with their eyes. Anything that would allow them to move the controller cursor on iPad with their eyes. We use special 3.5mm jacks for "clicking" or "selecting" actions, so if the controller or glasses had a 3.5mm jack that would also be a great find.

    I've spent tons of time researching this, and cannot find anything that truly meets this need. Take a look at this company I've used in the past called GlassOuse for a similar reference (not eye-tracking, but uses head movement). https://glassouse.com/

    A lot of times, you feel powerless to help in these situations. And I always wonder how powerless some of these kids really feel. Any help or advice offered is hugely appreciated, and will really go a long way :)

    Hey guys, I bought an ipad pro refurbed on amazon. It worked great for two days then just died on me, it suddenly won't turn on at all. I left it plugged in overnight and in the morning it felt warm so I'm not sure what the issue is. Anyway when I return it I'm just slightly worried about my data on it, if anyone revives the ipad is there any way for them to access all my stuff? Id contact the seller directly but I don't wanna appear suspicious to them. Thanks yall.

    How to create and design your own Comic Books on an iPad

    Hi all,

    Been writing my own story that I'd love to turn into a Comic Book - mainly for my own pleasure and achievement.

    I have an iPad Mini 5th Gen and will be buying an Apple Pencil for this task.

    Would just like to know if any of you have done this yourselves and what process/app you used?

    Now I'm far from an artist, but I heard of an app where you draw the outline and the basic shape with basic details of the thing you want to draw and then the app kind of finishes it off and brings it more to life.

    On top of this, I'd love to find an app that can then take all these designs and you can place them in Comic Book frames as you want and then add dialogue boxes etc.

    Sounds like a long shot, but I'm hoping there is an app out there that does everything I want, haha! (Hopefully there is one app that can do it all!)

    Thanks in advance! Also, would love to see the results if anyone has attempted to and executed the same thing I want to do!

    Is there a good stock app which offers alerts?

    I have the Stocks app, which is tied to my Yahoo account. It's a free app and pretty good for what it does, and I like that I can swipe from home and quickly see quotes. But I'd really like to have alerts for price points, and also volume. I installed Stocks Tracker- Real-time but am too cheap to pay the $10 for the alerts feature. Is there a product other people enjoy which may fit my needs? iPad and/or iPhone.

    iPad with fingerprint security asks for passcode a LOT

    Please enlighten me with respect to what triggers the iPad to ask for the passcode rather than accept my fingerprint to unlock it.

    Is it a length of time? If so, can this time be increased?

    Is it phase of moon? How many M&M's left in the candy dish? Somehow tied to the date and digits of pi? I'm sorry to be rather punchy but I'm starting to wonder why the fingerprint is even an option since my passcode is requested so often. If it were the start of the day, I would accept that, maybe. If it were after iOS updates, I'd be OK with that. Honestly, it is often and random--and way too much of the former.

    Home iPad for multiple users

    We are getting an iPad Air soon which will be mainly used in the house, but it's going to be used by more than one user. Is it best to set up a new user just for the iPad or is is easy enough to switch users on the fly? Haven't used an iPad in years and pretty sure last time it was just left logged in to my account.

    Sync Photo Albums *to* iPad

    So I'm aware that I can sync my albums from the iPad to my NAS using Photosync, this works pretty good. But since I'm also doing changes on the Album structure on other devices than the iPad I want those changes to be synced back to my iPad as well. From how I understand the UI of PhotoSync I can only do this receiving one album at a time and manually. Is there a workaround to automate that as well for all already existing and potentially newly created albums? I'm fine switching apps as well, heck I'd even replace the Photos.app if I could use another app as gallery easily with messengers and stuff.

    Apple Pencil tip wear down?

    Recently got gifted an iPad and after a week of trying to take notes without any sort of screen protector on it, I couldn't get used to the glass. Bought a paperlike and it works like a gem but I'm worried that the pencil tip will get worn down over time. Is this a valid concern or am I just overthinking it?
