| "Ghost voices" play on my iPad - something records our conversations? Posted: 09 Feb 2021 01:48 AM PST (I hope this is the right sub now) This is as weird as it sounds. In our household there are many Apple devices: each family member has at least an iPhone, then there is an iPad 8 shared by everyone, and a HomePod mini in the living room. I am using an iPad Air 4 and an iPhone 12 Pro as well as a 12 from work. All devices are part of a family sharing and on the latest iOS (14.4 as of writing this). No one else has access to my iPad, nothing can be done from the homescreen when locked (like Siri). Screen time is being used for the kids. In the last two days when I opened my iPad Air's cover it suddenly started to playback a few seconds of a conversation between my wife and one of my kids, this happened three times and stopped after a few seconds. Not everytime, so it's difficult to reproduce. Also it seems to be a different part everytime, but it ends too quickly to say for sure. The last time this happened when I woke up and opened my iPad this morning. I heard my wife talking. But: she was still sleeping next to me and making her lovely snoring sounds. As far as I could see there are no specific apps running on the iPad, at least nothing that would record and playback. So, the sound always comes from my iPad, however I am not sure about the source. Could be anything. Before I hand it over to an exorcist, does what I describe ring any bell for you? Any ideas what to look for? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 09 Feb 2021 08:12 AM PST My buddy upgraded is iPhone 6 to a 12 Max. A couple settings are funky, I'm assuming due to the jump in iOS versions. One thing I cannot figure out is his video playback. He uses a forum through the safari web browser that has imbedded YouTube videos. At home on wifi they play no problem. Chrome is my web platform of choice, so I have lots of data just stored on Chrome to autofill, however, since the upgrade, Chrome on my iPhone 11 Pro max ONLY (not on my macbook pro) requires the physical phone to have a passcode or faceunlock to autofill passwords, which I just don't like to have. Example; if my Facebook password is saved, it will not autofill unless I go into settings, set a passcode, go back to Chrome, hit "Auto fill" type in the phone password - then i go back and turn the passcode off. | What are all the default settings for Safari browser in iOS 12? Posted: 09 Feb 2021 04:00 AM PST My iPad Pro 2 is mainly being used for YouTube, but google has been screwing with the experience. Over the years I've changed the number of "advanced" settings to combat google, but now things are just broken. My mom used the iPad and now YouTube has subtitles in a different language on a lot of videos that I cannot disable, enabling subtitles enables extra subtitles, I'll check accessibility menu to see if there's anything there, but at this point I want to roll back all my advanced settings, only I don't want to reset the entire iPad to find out what they were. Is there somewhere a list of default settings? Examples of problems with google the main one right now is the different language subtitles that look very different to Google's subtitles, and the fact that when I refresh the page into desktop mode to get 1080p 60fps I end up being thrown to the home page of YouTube sometimes. Another problem is I lost ability to have 60fps 4K and 2K which was so damn cool on this beautiful screen. Though I'm sure google curbed that and it's not the browser settings.. It reads fine on my MacBook Pro, but doesn't show when I connect it to the Apple USB3 to Lightning Camera Adapter. I watched a YouTube video and it seemed to work for them. I encountered the "payment not completed" error message and I went to log in and off as suggested by some redditors. While scrumming my wallet - I found my physical credit card - waiting for the bank to authenticate takes ages. But when I tap my phone to look at my Lock Screen the notifications are there. All it is is that the notifications don't come up on my Lock Screen.
