It was a long run I had with my iPhone 6s! And I'm #so_proud for choosing this device 5 years ago! If I had chosen an Android my 6S, I must have changed at least 3 mobiles by now! | Unlock with Apple Watch for Touch ID Phones Posted: 05 Feb 2021 09:42 AM PST Even though iPhone 7 doesn't have Face ID it should be possible to unlock it with Apple Watch just like the Face ID phones. Touch ID doesn't work during these situations and more:
I have come to love unlock with Apple Watch on my Mac and I would love it on my phone but I don't have enough money to buy a Face ID phone especially with the pandemic limiting my spendings. As for security my MacBook Pro can be unlocked with my Apple Watch and the information on there is often a lot more important then the stuff on my phone. And I don't really care for my usage about much security other then preventing my sister from getting on my phone. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Alarm Effected by Mute Switch Now? Posted: 06 Feb 2021 07:28 AM PST Ever since updating to one of the more recent versions of iOS, I now have to have my phone unmuted overnight in order to get the alarm to sound as opposed to just lightly vibrate. | iOS 13/14 video editor is getting worse every update Posted: 06 Feb 2021 03:33 AM PST Has anyone noticed that the default video editor sucks so bad lately? Even just trimming a normal video can take minutes and sometimes crash. Slow-mo videos never work for me anymore. The playback head/grabber thing is always in the incorrect position, and the video doesn't even play back sometimes - or it's extremely slow. This is ridiculous. When I tried to save it to Photos, it said it couldn't export due to their not being enough space on my iPhone. Recently I find that the iOS share sheet is losing apps like Pocket, Messenger, etc. Restarting the phone fixes it and they reappear but after a few days they are gone again. Any ideas? | Posted: 06 Feb 2021 05:28 AM PST Hi, If the main app bundle id is main.app.bundle. the resulting group will have a identifier group.main.app.bundle The Share extension bundle id is required to be of format main.app.bundle.shareapp and be a part of the above App Group. To be a part of the App Group the bundle must match the group's format which is starting from the second word of the identifier of bundle group.main.app.bundle i.e. main.app.bundle which makes it the same as what we have according to the requirement. In my scenario, When I try to register my App Group I get an error saying
But when I try with a different bundle id it works! So I am not able to share data across the Share Extension and Main App, I have tried various permutations and combinations of bundle ids, it doesn't seem to work with my existing bundle id in any combination and I can't afford to change the bundle id. I highly doubt somebody has created an app group with my bundle id and is using it. So this seems to be some other anomaly. Would love some assistance on this matter [link] [comments]  | ||

I recently purchased the 200GB plan, but my photos are not uploading to iCloud. iCloud Photo Library is enabled, but I don't see 'my photo stream' either in the iCloud settings for photos or in the settings for the photos app, so none of my photos after October are uploading. Overall I love it, but I have to say, one of the biggest downsides and negatives of iOS is not being able to multitask and minimize apps while I use other apps. I am aware it works with certain apps. But unfortunately not ones I would like to use it for. YouTube being the most obvious. Can't minimize a video and keep listening to it while you do other things. Also Google Maps is a big one to not have. I use Google Maps a lot for driving and would like to minimize the GPS while I open another app on my phone. I could do this on Android; I can't on iOS. Facebook, Twitter, you name it. Can't do it. I read that iOS has enabled the capability, so why don't these app developers have it ready yet? They all worked on Android. I've tried it with my Bose wireless headphones, and with the stock earbuds. I tried downloading a few volume booster apps but the ones I found require IAP to actually make it louder. | How does the ‘Optimise iPhone Storage’ in Photos work? Posted: 05 Feb 2021 11:42 PM PST I have a 128GB iPhone 11 and it's getting full now. I pay for iCloud storage and backup too. Now I'm wondering how exactly the setting mentioned in the title works. When will it optimize the storage? Based on what criteria? I used to use Google Photos before this iPhone and we could manually choose to keep a photo on device or delete from the device. I'm having these thoughts about the criteria - does it delete device copies only when reaching a threshold of 5GB space remaining or something like that? - I don't want it to constantly download every photo I open and delete it soon after. - Currently, my photos is at about 70GB, it I get a new iPhone, say 64GB, what all will it download? Or will it download only the photos I open? I'm just having general doubts on how the photos and their local copies will be managed once my phone gets full, or if I move to a new phone, or if I get a Mac and sign in to that Mac with this iCloud ID. Recently she went to dig them out of her messages with that person and they are gone. The previous ones are there. The later ones are still there too. Just that window and that conversation. Now, assuming my family member didn't delete them. Is there any other explanation? If one party deletes an iMessage will it delete it on the other party's phone? Can you delete iMessages from an apple account through the web? I'm really trying to help them find answers. Any help is appreciated or even just point me to another resource that could help. | ios 14.4 night shift no sunset/sunrise option Posted: 05 Feb 2021 10:06 PM PST So I finally updated to ios 14.4 (from ios 13) and I no longer have the option for night shift to be scheduled from sunset to sunrise. It only gives me the option for a custom schedule. I looked at my sister's phone on ios 14.3 and it still had the option for sunset/sunrise. Is this a bug, or did they remove the feature? I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue. I'm tempted to try and downgrade to 14.3, I would assume it's still signed. [link] [comments]  |
