Any way of using Touch ID when I turn on my MacBook? iPad Pro: What’s the deal with iPad backup/ restore? Posted: 23 Feb 2021 09:21 PM PST I had some mysterious GB's eating away space on my iPad. Decided I would erase and restore from backup (a backup from last week saved on my iMac, not iCloud). Did all that. Historically when I restore from backup... it takes 30+ mins. The iPad is up and running... and all the apps are downloaded and ready to go. This time, the majority of alllll my apps are sitting there with the iCloud icon next to them. And if I wanna open that app, it takes a min or 2 to download. Seems like the apps that are not idling with the iCloud logo are apps that I use frequently. Resetting my Broken Iphone X Posted: 23 Feb 2021 05:33 PM PST Guys, I'm going to have heart failure with trying to reset my phone to factory. Touch screen is 95% unresponsive (It thinks its being long-pressed at all times) Bluetooth is broken and Wifi is broken internally. The phone has no cell service either, and thus won't connect to any Apple ID login servers. ​ I tried Itunes, it needed me to turn off Find My Phone which won't work without re-logging into Apple ID. Tried logging into iCloud on my computer browser and resetting.. Can't connect to the phone. If you're wondering how I still use my phone.. It's painful. I have used this drive multiple times for time machine backups. It's a 500gb 2.5 inch Samsung SSD in an enclosure. It has 208gb remaining of its 500gb capacity and my MBP is only 256gb. When I first connected it, it showed up in the finder info window as 500gb, but time machine showed it as like 200 total. Time machine then randomly switched to showing it as 500gb, but it still wouldn't allow me to actually back up to it, even though there is more than enough space. Odd "OBJ" graphic after text on iPhone Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:39 PM PST My friend has an iPhone 8. He's had an odd issue where sometimes when he types a sentence or text - and "OBJ" graphic is at the end of the text. He can't figure out how to fix it so I'm asking on his behalf. He's on iOS 14.4. Macbook Pro wont boot up after update Posted: 23 Feb 2021 04:28 PM PST Hey, I updated my MacBook Pro (Big sur update) and it prompted me to restart for the update so I did. I think i may have tried to shut it down whilst it was restarting so that may be a lead? However it wont start up now i've tried the right shift command option thing and many other solutions but i don't actually know what the issue is? Is it just best for me to go to an apple tech or is there anyway i can do this at home because most stores are closed. Im going to leave it on charge for tonight and if i get any answers i will respond trying in the Morning. Screen time is being controlled Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:09 PM PST my friend recently got a new iphone. his mom bought it for him, and when he tried to back it up on the computer, it inherited the old screen time passcode that his dad and stepmom set up on his previous phone. he and his dad and stepmom are now non-contact. even before that, they still refused to give him the passcode. the dad and stepmom did not buy the phone and they do not pay the phone bills. is there any way to fix this? any advice is very much appreciated. thank you! submitted by /u/tarynnyrat [link] [comments]

Airpod Pros will connect to MacBook Pro but there is no sound Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:08 PM PST Hi guys. My roommate just got some sealed Airpod Pros off of eBay in the mail today and he was super excited. He tried connecting them to his phone and it took longer than we had hoped so it was a little frustrating, but we eventually got it to work and were happy with the results. They're definitely not fake like we had feared because the quality is there and they synced to the phone as normal. However, when trying to connect to his MacBook Pro (I want to say the 2020 15in model), they will connect via bluetooth fine, but then there is no sound whatsoever. We got them to work once on the MacBook and it was by chance. After finally getting them to connect and play sound, he wanted to see if they would still work after reconnecting them back to his phone (which it did) and then back to the MacBook (it did not). He was super frustrated and we couldn't find anything on the internet about this issue with MacBooks specifically. I am hoping reddit can help bc he has had so much bad luck with tech recently and I don't want him to be bothered by this after being hyped up all week waiting for them to arrive. Pages: Can you link to other parts of your document through a table of contents? Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:05 PM PST Working on a large thesis, and I would love to be able to click a title on my table of contents and be able to jump to that specific blurb in my paper. Specifically I want to be able to jump to any line of text on a page, not just to a page (ie, is it possible to jump to a specific paragraph rather than to a specific page?). My project is nearing 130 pages with approximately 160 different segments, and it would just be really handy to jump from the table of contents to the specific segment I am working on rather than scrolling like heck to get there. However, when I went to listen to the video the audio was missing. After a quick YouTube search I realized my audio recoding part was turned off. Is there anyway I could recover the audio on the screen record or will I only have the empty video with no audio. 2016 Apple Thunderbolt Display Repair Question Posted: 23 Feb 2021 07:04 PM PST Hi everyone! I have a 2016 Thunderbolt 27" Display and I have noticed a low buzzing coming from the bottom right of the display (facing the front of the panel). The loudness of the buzzing is directly proportional to the brightness of the display. The buzzing is not loud enough to be considered distracting. I tried looking this up on other forums but most of them indicated that a buzzing from the "bottom left" is a power supply issue. Since my issue is associated with bottom right, could it be the logic board or is it just coil whine? Is this something to worry about, especially since it seems to be functioning well?
