    My new iPhone 12

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 08:45 AM PST

I'll start by saying my new iPhone 12 (not pro, not mini, just regular) is the first iPhone I've owned since 2013. I bought it outright in December and from day one I'm glad to have switched back. Low cost was my motivation for going to the other side, and you get what you pay for. Recently I've wanted a phone I would not have to replace within twelve months.

After a bunch of reading on I found a few interesting features. My favorite is the listening device feature (using AirPods or other wireless headphones gives an additional advantage). Another semi-interesting one is the ability to tap the back as a shortcut. Unfortunately this can not be used for the flashlight, and that's really the only reason I would use that feature. FaceID works much better on this phone than other mobile OS devices I've used. The wireless charging feature seems fine, but although I spent $1k on the phone I didn't want to spend another $50 on the additional charger needed since I had one for my AirPods. I got the watch to complete the accessory collection, now I'm all decked out in Apple gear.

Since I'm newly back to the Apple universe I'd like to get any suggestions for best uses/apps that I can now access. Thx!

Can I use new iPhone with old SIM card even though that provider was canceled?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2021 08:50 AM PST

Hi, I just received my new iPhone and was hoping to set it up but I haven't yet received my new SIM card. You see, I cancelled with my old provider and started with a new one and got a phone with the new plan. I was wondering if I can set the phone up and just use my old SIM card that doesn't have any network on it until my new one arrives? I also can't get my verification code for Apple ID authentication texted to me since I cancelled my plan and can't receive texts.

TIL that the Receipt emoji on the iPhone reads the words “misfits”, “square pegs” and “round holes” on it (Think Different reference). Plus the date (July 17) is the same as iCal announcement’s (anyone remember iCal?)!

I have the black leather case and the black wallet and I also have the saddle leather case and the saddle wallet but the saddle wallet and cases connection is much stronger than the black anyone else to experience this? I feel like the black is very easily knocked off but saddle is like glued on lol.

Switching from an Samsung Note Plus 12 pro or pro max?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2021 06:37 PM PST

    Hello all

I am new to iOS and I recently purchased my first iPhone. I know this has been asked before but I am just looking for input. I had a note 10 plus which I loved, however I was slowly getting over how big it was and how hard it was to get into pockets. I also was tired of using two hands almost all the time. Side note: I have small hands. I recently purchased the 12 pro and it is making me miss my note screen. I was thinking of switching to the 12 pro max. I am just a little worried because it is a little heavy and seems cumbersome. I just wanted to see what people would think. Should I stick with the 12 pro?
