    faint, flickering apple logo on every screen

    i just updated my 2017 13 in macbook pro to macos big sur (version 11.1) and now on every single screen there is a very faint but rather annoying apple logo, same size and shape as the reboot screen but transparent over whatever page i'm on. it doesn't show up in screenshots, and seems to be floating above all other windows (idk how to explain it but if i have a small window and move it around the apple logo remains in the same place like everything else is moving underneath). does anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it?

    also--just tried resetting the nvram to fix this and it did not work, although the logo is fainter now but still visible

    iPhone has a darker line when the color green is on my screen, and the colors have been messed up for months

    Hi, for months now my phone colors have been messed up. It's not a setting. One day, I was sitting on my couch scrolling through my photos and then, the colors shifted to a darker tone. Since then, it has managed to switch back while I was on it (obviously months of restarting it does nothing), however when it switches back it's only for a minute at the longest. Any help would be nice. I'm using an IPhone Xr. If asked I will provide more info, but I don't think there is much more to mention. It has slightly gotten better over time, as green used to be just straight up brown. And I think a few shades of green are almost fine, it's just so annoying.

    Locked out of apple id

    Wanted to change the email associated with my apple id, account was locked. I no longer have access to the old email, so I chose to answer security questions. It is now saying that my birth date entered is not the same as the one they have on file. Is there any other way to access my account?

    what is this slightly darker vertical line on my new ipad air 4 screen? i only just got it a week ago max and i’ve been very careful with it. is this normal and i’m being too picky? or is this an issue

    Iphone/Ipad - Icloud photo syncing. Is it possible to upload from one device, not both

    So i have my apple account logged into an iphone and ipad. I would like my photos to download to both devices, but only upload from my iphone.

    Brand new iPhone 6S not turning on

    I just opened a brand new iPhone 6S silver 64gb, but it will not turn on out of the box. When I plug in the charging cable, the Apple logo shows up for 4 seconds and then goes away. This process then repeats indefinitely.

    What are my options here? This device technically hasn't started its 1 year warranty period yet as I haven't been able to activate it. Can Apple do anything about this? I tried plugging it into my computer but the phone just doesn't turn on or show any Apple logo (it only shows the Apple logo when plugged into a wall).

    Does the battery need to be replaced?

    Is iCloud just completely awful -- or am I missing something?

    I hate to come off super negative in my first post here but I am at a complete loss. I use Google and used to use OneDrive. I decided to get rid of OneDrive and go with iCloud since I am majority Apple. Since doing that I am baffled how this service even functions.

    1. I say that because I tried putting my OneDrive files (108 GB) into iCloud for Windows and it seems to barely upload. Like if I just let it go MAYBE it would get done in a month. It isn't my internet or anything. It is just like the thing refuses to work.
    2. Due to #1 I removed everything in iCloud on the browser to restart. Deleted it and removed from the trash can. Full on wipe out. Cool... even my iCloud storage dropped. Win. My iPhone still shows all my iCloud files and I can still even open them. They have the little download icon in the top left, I tap, and it opens the file or pic. **How????** I fully removed it from iCloud yet it can get it on my phone?
    3. Cannot upload folders at all via the web browser but I did test uploading tons of files into one folder. That actually works. It uploads in no time and all the files are there -- so why is iCloud for windows going slower then dial up?

    I really hope I am missing something here. I want to just use iCloud due to my iPhone/Watch/Homepods/etc. -- just make it easy .. but the inconsistent sync with my iPhone still having files that don't exist in iCloud anymore and iCloud for Windows refusing to upload at any reasonable rate has me really questioning it.

    Hi, I'm having the problem described by the title and I have tried everything i can find on google. The associated slider in sound preferences is in the middle (not favoring one ear or the other). I have had the Mac forget them and relinked them. I have confirmed that the problem persists across different programs. Any help much much appreciated.

    Only Facebook and Instagram can use my rear-facing camera (iPhone)

    The only apps with the ability to use my rear-facing camera are Facebook and Instagram. I've tested multiple things, and have had this problem for 4 or 5 months. All apps tested have access to the camera

    On the camera app and Pinterest, it just shows a black screen for the preview and taking the picture does nothing. On most other apps, it will default to the front-facing camera and switching to rear mode does nothing. Facebook and Instagram work exactly as expected

    My theory is that it's a software issue, and whatever technology Facebook and its children uses is different from the standard

    This started when I dropped my phone, and my Face ID stopped working at the same time. No idea if that's related

    Keyboard keeps disconnecting - sometimes very frequently.

    Hello.

    I have a 2011 MacBook Pro (running 10.13 High Sierra), that is mounted on my wall. It's connected to an external monitor, power and audio via cables and I have Magic Mouse (gen 1) and Magic Keyboard (the tenkeyless version) connected via bluetooth. The machine is connected to WiFi for internet access.

    For the most part, everything is working fine, no problems. Except once in awhile this keyboard just disconnects, out of nowhere. I've tried changing batteries to no avail. (the battery percentage is 100% now, 99% with old batteries, so I don't think that's a problem. Sometimes it doesn't disconnect for a whole day, but like yesterday sometimes it disconnects a *bunch* of times in a row. It's really, really infuriating considering I'm a writer... Your keyboard disconnecting in the middle of a sentence reeeaallly drives me nuts sometimes.

    When it does disconnect, most of the time it just fixes itself in 10-20 seconds without me doing anything. The light just goes blinky-blinky for a couple of seconds, then it starts working again. Sometimes though, as it tries to reconnect it fails and then nothing else helps, but to screw open the battery compartment and then screw it back on - no need to do anything else. (just pressing the button on the side doesn't work, I *need* to unscrew the battery compartment when that happens.)

    Anybody have any idea what's happening? I really don't want to change to a wired keyboard, running that cable would kind of a pain in the butt.

    I have an iPhone 8. I don’t leave my hose and my WiFi is working. I usually use less than .5 of a gig of data a month. This period, with 1 days to go I’ve used 1.21 gigs. Something must be sucking my data. Is there a way in settings to break down which apps are using how much?

    Exactly what the titles says. All my files are gone after upgrading to Big Sur. I tried to go to iCloud and there is nothing there. Just an empty folder. I had half a book written as well as resumes/important documents. Where are my files and how can I recover them??

    “Replacement” iPads

    I ordered a pair of iPads (from the apple store app) as Christmas gifts in November 2020. They shipped with separate tracking numbers but only one of the tracking numbers arrived and the box happened to have both of the iPads inside so I was not worried when the other package never arrived. Fast forward to this week when I received an email from the apple store letting me know that my iPads have shipped. They gave me two new tracking numbers and one of them arrived today. I checked the original order and the updated one and I don't see a new charge nor has my original payment method been charged. What I do see is that the iPads are listed as "replacements" on the order page.

    So do I get to keep these replacements? Will activating them affect the other iPads I received and gave as gifts in December? I guess I could contact apple about it but I want to see if anyone here knows what might happen.

    Hello!

    A few weeks ago I had to do a complete reset of my MacBook, deleting MacOS and redownloading it. since then, my airdrop has not been working well at all. It'll only work for about five minutes after I restart my computer. I know its a problem with my computer because I've tried airdropping things from my phone and tablet and neither work. Before restarting my computer I never had any problems with airdrop so this is very frustrating since its a feature im reliant on!

    I just bought airpod pro's and am trying to figure out if they are real or not. The led in the center is not flush with the case which makes me suspect they are fake. However when I looked up the serial number i was given the message in the title. What does it mean? Are these real or fake?

    Some Questions About Computer Terminology+Apple Computers

    Hello everyone, I am a person who uses my MacbookPro literally all the time, mostly for creative pursuits and hobbies. I am thinking I may need to buy a better computer, but there is so much I don't understand, so I have a list of questions I'd like to ask the crowd:

    1.) - What is a 'Core Processor', and what does it do?
    2.) - What is a 'Turbo Boost'? (On Apple's websites, some newer computers like the IMacPro say, in the 'Processor' section: Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz)
    3.) - What is the difference between 'Memory' and 'Storage'?
    4.) - What is the difference between PCIE-flash based storage, and SSD storage?
    5.) - I have bought a number of programmes on this current Mac I have–Final Cut Pro X, The Final Cut Pro X Compressor, Logic Pro X, and Clip Studio Paint. If I buy a new Apple computer, will I have to buy them all over again? Or is there a way to transfer these applications I already own, onto my new device?
    6.) - Can I trade-in, or possibly get a reduced price for my new Apple product if I hand in my current Mac computer in exchange? It is in good condition, and works well most of the time.

    This next question is more based upon my personal needs and less so about general computer knowledge:
    7.) - I regularly use the following apps - Final Cut Pro X (Since I like making videos), Logic Pro X (I also compose music too), Itunes, and Clip Studio Paint. Mostly Creative/Entertainment Apps, etc. Sometimes, when I use Final Cut Pro X, my app keeps freezing/crashing and my cursor changes to the 'Waiting' animation and for sometimes 30 minutes or even hours, does not change. I want to know more about WHY this happens–which of the functions/facets of my computer is being overburdened, and what could I do to stop this from happening? What kind of new computer would be best as preventing this?

    Can I transfer photos and passwords with out transferring subscriptions and purchase history to a new iCloud?

    How can I permanently get rid of the Bookmarks tab in Safari on my new MacBook

    Need guidance running tvOS app on Macbook Pro

    Hi AppleHelp community!

    I'm not sure I'm asking in the right place, but I'm kinda desperate. There is an AppleTV app called Miraj that I wanted to run off my Macbook Pro, but it is only available on tvOS. I was wondering in someone can point me in the right direction on how to run it on my laptop (AppleTV simulator or something).
