I develop a WordPress plugin and I need to test/identify any cross-browser and cross-platform bugs that might be occurring in my software. I only have a Windows laptop and I have tested on BrowserStack, etc. using their shitty MacOS emulators but I don't trust they are a true reflection of a real MacOS experience and I can't debug through an emulator - thus you MacOS users are invaluable. | Posted: 30 Jan 2021 07:47 PM PST Hello, I'm reaching out as I have a question about removing a partition on the SSD drive in my MacBook Pro. I recently added a partition to my SDD to install Big Sur on. I wanted a clean install of Big Sur but wasn't sure if all of my apps would be compatible. I felt it would be a good idea to test it out on a second partition before committing to the update. After creating the second partition and installing Big Sur, I copied over all of my files and checked that everything worked. Once I confirmed everything worked, I wanted to remove Catalina on the first partition. I soon found out that this was not possible, as it seems you can't delete the first partition on a drive. So I used Carbon Copy Cloner to create an exact copy on the original partition. So now I have two exact copies of Big Sur on each partition. I am logged into the first partition and I was hoping to simply erase the second partition but noticed something peculiar. When I select the second partition in Disk Utilities and click the minus button, the pie chart appears to add the freed up space to the recovery partition. However, I need the freed space returned to the 'Data' portion of the first partition. Before going any further, I felt I should ask to make sure that I don't make a mistake. I have attached a few screenshots that may help. Please let me know how I can safely remove partition 2 'Big Sur' and add that space back to partition 1: 'Macintosh HD - Data' Thanks for any help you can provide! I really appreciate it. From the first day, when calling up a # with an automated greeting like a bank, airline, or cell phone provider, the greeting cuts off almost immediately and thinks I've either said something or pushed a button on the touch screen. I've said nothing and am not touching the screen. The greeting simply interrupts its spiel and gives an error warning like "sorry, I didn't get that". This has never happened to me on an iPhone before but it's constant now. I've tried disabling Attention Awareness and all the Face ID Attention settings. Didn't help. Tried disabling VoLTE. Didn't help. Tried disabling Noise Cancellation. Didn't help. Making a phone call to an automated system with a menu is now virtually impossible, because the menu stops almost immediately after the call connects. The menu obviously thinks I've made a selection, when I've done nothing. It's incredibly over sensitive to something on this iPhone 11 and I have no idea what it is. Would greatly appreciate some help here. Is there some feature on the iPhone you have to disable? Anyone else experience this issue? I called Apple Support and Verizon and both said they'd never heard of this issue and suggested returning the phone or sending it in for repairs. [link] [comments]  |

Usually i receive them 4-10 hours later which is annoying, because I never get a notification about them. | The Number of Photos in My Iphone 11 Gallery went from 20k to 4k Posted: 30 Jan 2021 10:08 PM PST I was going through some photos today when I noticed that my camera roll had gone from around 20k (i know that was the past count as Ive noted it before) to only 4k photos. I though that was weird so I checked my ipad (which was synced up to icloud with my phone) and it was at 20k photos. I though that was fine and that maybe my phone was just being weird, when the photos from my ipad started disappearing!! I tried to download them to my files or airdrop them to another device but it wouldnt let me and said that "my gallery was updating". I also recently gave my grandmother my older iphone 6 (maybe a month or two ago), which was also synced to icloud. I unsynced it and deleted the camera roll in order to free up scae for her/ not have all my photos on a device i no longer used. I did not sign out of this one since I am the only person in our family who has an Apple ID and i didnt want to make a new one for her since she would not be able to use it wihout my help anyways. I don't a have any screenshots since I was sort of freaking out, but would the problem be that I unsynced icloud a while ago? Or even that I deleted photos from the old phone??? Do they just disappear if you arent synced? If anyone has any advice, I was hoping maybe there was some crazy way to recover these oddly disappeared photos.16k is a lot but theyre all special to me since I have a really bad memory and have relied on them to remember special events and have photos that mean alot to me that I lost. One of the 1 GB partitions has failed...doesn't mount, cannot be read, Disk First Aid doesn't repair. My Disk First Aid results are attached below Question: are the remaining partitions on the disk safe to use, or is it extremely risky to continue using them? I know that though there are partitions, it is one physical disk. Thought maybe the error is contained to the one partition? Or is this just a sign of impending disk failure? Thank you! It seems to cycle every two to three minutes, and has been doing it for at least twenty minutes. I did notice an amber alert on my phone, but there is no such alert on my television.
