| Having trouble getting apps to reinstall Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:21 PM PST Madel: iPhone 7 iOS Version: 12.4.1 I'm not entirely sure how to explain the problem, but I noticed one day that many of my apps were blacked out, and had a little cloud next to their titles. For many of them, I simply tapped on the app and they re-installed themselves, but a few (including apps that I need, like Imgur) don't ever fully re-install. They'll go through the re-install process (they'll say "Waiting..." for a moment, and then they'll load, and then they'll just inexplicably stop at about 75% of the way through, without any sort of notification as to why). I've got very little storage left on my phone (31.3 GB out of 32), but I figured that it would at least be enough for Imgur, as I've already deleted over 300 photos to make some space. I also had the "Offload Unused Apps" setting on for a while, but I turned that on nearly a week ago and I was able to use Imgur at the time. I've since turned the setting off, and after deleting 300 photos, I don't know what to do next. Any ideas on how to fix this? [link] [comments]  |
| Brightness Increases While Playing Videos Posted: 02 Nov 2020 08:12 PM PST I just upgraded from iPhone 7 to iPhone 12 Pro. Despite having a low screen brightness, when I play videos and view some photos from the Photos app, the picture/video gets far brighter. I'm not sure but I think it does this for HDR photos. Is there some way to disallow HDR videos from exceeding my brightness setting? [link] [comments]  |

I can't find any setting to get the call button in both safari suggestions and my contacts to actually call a contact unless I long press it, then I see 2 of the same phone numbers, one labeled mobile, the other labeled phone. If it is on, notifications should arrive but go in the Notification Center. Instead the Apple Watch doesn't receive any notifications if DND is active. How can i reproduce the same behavior? | Wipe iPhone and restore texts only Posted: 02 Nov 2020 11:34 AM PST I'd like to wipe my iPhone, just as a maintenance procedure, and "start over". However, I want to restore all my texts/iMessages as those are important to keep, for me. Is there a way to do this? I've wiped before but the restore reinstalled all the apps and such. | No sound after changing time to the future Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:14 PM PST So basically I changed my time then did not realise and message 2 people and then after changed the time back to normal (the time was around a 3 week in the future) The messages are getting put behind and the ones I sent when I messaged them with the time in the future are going in front I fixed that by deleting the chats but their is no sound when they message me still like no beep and no notification on my lock or notification hub thing I don't know how to fix this would I have to just wait it out till time goes past the future time I had set when I had messaged them previously? I was wondering is any iPhone 11 users have experienced this - on my unit, in certain viewing angles, there is an overlay of faint diagonal grey lines running across the screen, which is especially noticeable when viewing anything either on a white background or having the display on max brightness. | Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:27 AM PST Hello. Since the IOS 14 update. My chromcast doesn't pop up as an option on my phone to ca to. It's not the local access security, because it is on for said apps. I can no longer cast with HBOmax, YouTube, peloton app or Disney +. When I click the cast icon, none of my tv chromecasts pop up as an option, just my iPhone. | How do I transfer my contacts from a 'forgotten' Outlook account into iCloud? Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:25 AM PST Hi. I recently got a new iPhone and did some cleaning up after transferring everything from an old iPhone. In Passwords |& Accounts, I have an Outlook account with a weird email address of outlook_B58764B356*****@outlook.com. So I deleted it. Then all my contacts are gone. When I checked my old iPhone, in Contacts Groups, all contacts are grouped under "All Outlook" for some reason which explains why all my contacts are gone. Now I am having trouble looking for ways to transfer all these contacts from "All Outlook" to "All iCloud". I don't know what Outlook account is that, and even Outlooks is telling me that the account does not exist when I try to log in, so I have no way of getting access to Outlook contacts for me to export it and transfer to iCloud. Airdropping the contacts one by one doesn't work since it still groups the contact to "All Outlook". What can I do? [link] [comments]  |

Also the back up file size is currently 340gbs when my phones storage size is only 256gbs. I have never seen a backup size so large and it has never taken this long. | I'm getting weird camera reflection in photos with the iPhone 12 Pro Posted: 02 Nov 2020 01:29 AM PST iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14.1 I have noticed these dots reflecting when I take pics or videos indoors at a relatively close distance. I can't see them IRL, just the camera picks them up. I've also tried covering the LiDAR with my finger but they still there. Easier to reproduce closer to a light source. And sometimes I can see a dim reflection IRL with my eyes, and it seems to be a reflection of the entire camera bump and the lenses. Anyone else seeing these? Is this a defect with the camera modules? A friend of mine with the 12 Pro as well said he doesn't have this issue. | iPhone 7 on iOS 14 will not record in .mp4 Posted: 02 Nov 2020 01:16 AM PST I have googled the issue to the best of my ability and from what I gather this should be possible but my iPhone 7 on iOS 14 simply will not record video in .mp4. I have changed the format in the Camera setting from High Efficiency to Most Compatible and back, tried different framerates and resolutions with both settings. I have also been in the settings of the Photos app and tried with the different transfer settings, Automatic and Keep Originals. I simply do not know what to do anymore, everywhere I look it says this should be possible. Apologies if some of the terms are wrong, my phone is not set to english as it isn't my first language.
