    I made the switch to One+, today I added the CBS/Showtime channel bundle. It shows that price will be $21 after free trial. I believe Apple was reducing the bundle to $10 with a credit if you have AppleTV+. Does anyone know if same discount will apply if I get AppleTV through One+?

    AppleTV + Multiple PS4 controllers.... be sure is genuine Sony PlayStation DUALSHOCK4 / PS4 Controller. I used some knock-offs and only 1 "PS4" controller would work with ATV reliably. Even Siri Remote stopped working reliably.

    Hi

    When i set a HomePod(or stereo pair) as the default for my Apple TV 4K, my bandwidth goes from 40-50 to 10, i check with YouTube developer ui/stats and the SpeedTest app.

    I have tried to move the Apple TV right next to the router, and its exactly the same.

    The wifi is faster on the 2.4ghz on the Apple TV, that's usually not the case.

    The HomePods are on the same 5ghz network.

    Can anyone reproduce this with Apple TV 4K and HomePods?

    Is there a reason to keep Apple TV Box

    I've recently purchased a Samsung TU8500 Smart V and it's really really good.
    Applications are fast and Youtube, Netflix have features that my Apple TV Box doesn't have.
    I own an iPhone and Macbook but I can use airplay already from the tv or use youtube/netflix/tv browser to see whatever I want and now I'm wondering if there's a good reason to keep it.

    tldr;
    I had shitty tv, bought apple box, it didn't help much since the tv quality itself was bad.
    Bought new smart tv and now I can't find use for the apple box.

    Apple TV 4k not turning on

    So my family has an ATV, but not really using it's potential out. Anyways, today my dad told me that the ATV's front light is rapidly blinking, and it is not responding/turning on. I searched online, and found out that this means that it is in recovery mode. I don't know why this happened, cause we havent used it in like 3 weeks, and it just happened out of nowhere. I read some things about it, but people say I have to take it to Apple, but the thing is that this is almost 2 years old I think..... Soooo is there ANYTHING that I could do?

    Plex Pin Entry is Brutal - any advice?

    Does anybody else feel that the pin entry in the Plex app on Apple TV is brutal? All of the numbers are in a straight line (vs. num pad layout on every other device I've used). If your pin goes back and forth between left and right it is brutal to enter.

    Combine this with the disappointment that the number keys don't work on my Harmony Hub remote (they do with the NVidia Shield) and I feel like I'm taking a step back going from the Shield to the Apple TV.

    Am I overlooking anything? Is there any way to make this easier? My use case is that I've got a user for my kids and I only allow them access to certain shows through labels. The other users have to be pin protected or they get access to any/everything.

    Apple Remote not waking or working until restart after tvOS14

    After my Apple TV 4 upgraded to tvOS 14, my remote that it came with no longer wakes the Apple TV when I press Menu. In fact, it refuses to work at all even when I wake the Apple TV with my iPhone. No buttons respond unless I restart the Apple TV. Once I restart the remote works fine. I can even put the Apple TV asleep and wake it successfully. It's only when the Apple TV has been asleep for a few hours that the remote ceases to function until a restart.

    Things I've tried:

    • Updated the Apple TV to 14.0.2
    • Deleted the remote and re-paired it
    • Charged the remote

    The only thing I haven't done is factory restore the Apple TV. I figured I'd ask around here first to see if there was a potential solution or more things to try before I went that far.

    News Options for Election Night w/PiP?

    Was hoping to have a few News channels up with the new Picture-In-Picture function, but none of the apps I've checked have the option. (CNN Go, Peacock, NBC News, ABC News)

    Anyone out there have luck finding News Apps with PiP functionality available?

    Looks like the 14.2 GM version is available to download and update now. I'm on 14.2 Dev Beta program. Not sure if this is a RC or available as a Public Update.

    Best HDMI cable for AppleTV 4k?

    I read a post here once about how better a HDMI cable enhances the experience significantly. I always had issues with my AT4K existing the show I am watching suddenly, or the screen keeps going black for a few seconds, so I bought an HDMI certified Monoprice cable from Amazon (Monoprice has so many cables that I cannot tell which one is which).

    The experience got better indeed and the stutters stopped, for like 3-4 months. I decided then the adjust the Chroma format to 4:4:4 instead of 4:4:2. The AT4K would then work normally for a while and all the sudden Disney+ tells me the HDMI cable is not good enough for the show format!

    Restating the device will make everything work back to normal for a while, but then it comes back again. Only when Chroma format changes to 4:4:2 it becomes smoother, but still with some stutters or flashing screen every now and then.

    Is it really an HDMI cable issue? Or is my ATV4k just busted? What is the BEST HDMI cable to use with Apple TV 4K in full 4K experience with 4:4:4 chroma format?

    Why won’t my podcast subscription work on AppleTv?

    All my free podcasts sync fine between my iPhone, iPad and AppleTv. I have 1 podcast that is paid that I needed to enter the url and password on my iPhone. It syncs and works fine on the iPhone and iPad, but episodes won't sync and load on the AppleTv podcast app. It tells me it can't update episodes because a password is needed, but it offers no option to enter a password. I'm confused why it doesn't sync from the account that is already working on the phone and pad. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

    Question about free year of AppleTV +

    I am currently enjoying a free year of AppleTV+ because I purchased a new iPhone 11 ProMax back in February. However, I decided to buy an AppleTV yesterday from Costco. I haven't set it up yet, but I assume it also comes with a free year of AppleTV+.

    If I am using the same Apple ID on both devices, does that free year start from when I set it up or can I get it to start after my current free year ends?

    Controlling TV power on ATV with universal remote

    I would like to have a universal remote that can turn off the TV itself (not the ATV) as well as control the TV volume without having to toggle through the device buttons on the universal remote (i.e. TV/Streaming box buttons etc.). I've yet to find a universal remote that does this. They all require you press the actual device button on the remote. Sounds like a first world problem but it is annoying. I have tried using the program remote button through ATV but you can't program the TV on off through that method. I also tried programming my existing Roku TV remote but when I program ATV buttons to it they conflict with the functions of the remote (I.e. press menu button for ATV and a Roku setting window overlay will also pop up) Any ideas????
