| Posted: 03 Nov 2020 07:41 PM PST okay so i just set up my iphone 12, but i'm only getting notifications from one of the apps i've set them up for. i've turned on notifications within the apps, and in settings, and yet nothing. banners, notif center, everything. out of suggestions at this point, my other iphone is still getting notifications from the apps so i can't think of a reason why it wouldn't be working. I will press the volume control buttons but no volume changes happen for a while and it can be really frustrating when something is too loud or too quiet. 2.my overall volume level will drop immensely. I would have to raise my volume all the way up to be able to barely hear anything. Does anyone know a more long term fix? The first problem I usually just wait it out for a few minutes which is tedious and my only way to solve the second problem is to restart my phone. These happen about once or twice a week usually. If you aren't familiar with this particular hobby, it's basically the creation of complex photo albums/scrapbooks and part of that is printing pictures in different sizes, often printing multiple, different photos on the same piece of paper so they can be cut into different shapes and so on. Unfortunately, when I replaced her 7-year old MBP with a new one we discovered that Photos can't do anything like that, nor does Photoshop Elements 2020, and the software she had been using is 32-bit so it won't run in Catalina. | How do I make copies of pictures from icloud? Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:28 PM PST Apologies if the question is phrased poorly! I have iCloud photos album show up on my file explorer on my laptop (not a mac) I have tried several times to turn on the setting where it automatically downloads everything.. however it doesn't download. Not sure why. Even then I'm not sure if that actually makes copies or if those things would just be erased once I delete them from the cloud. But I have not been able to figure out how to actually get copies of things from the cloud and save them onto my computer, so that I can free up some space in the cloud.. anyone have any luck with this? | locked out of iCloud for 27 days Posted: 03 Nov 2020 07:45 PM PST My daughter and I changed service providers, traded in our phones for upgrades and she got a new number. When I went to restore her new phone from iCloud backup, it sent a 2FA code to her old phone number which was no longer in service. I selected the option saying I no longer had access to this number so it sent an email with a verification code. When I attempted to log in to her iCloud email, it asked for the 2FA code that it sent to the phone number that is no longer her in service. I went too iforgot.apple.com and entered my phone number and it said to wait 24 hours for further instructions. I logged in after 24 hours and it said I have to wait 27 days to be able to access her account. She has been on my apple family plan for a long time and apple can clearly see this information so I'm not sure why I have to wait so long. Are there any options for us to get her account back sooner. She can't go that long without a way for me to reach her. [link] [comments]  |

| Near Emergency, Scary Safari Extensions Posted: 03 Nov 2020 06:26 PM PST My mom (who's terrible with computers) uses a 2013 MacBook Air for casual browsing and has a bad habit of downloading weird things/malware without even noticing. She's on disability and uses it for ordering clothes and groceries online mostly, but with my passwords and banking info. I found 2 extensions in her safari browser with permissions for almost everything, including passwords and auto filled info. She uses chrome rather than safari but I want to know how deep this goes. I'm sure I need to change my banking info and almost all my passwords. How much harm can safari extensions do? Can it access my User Account on the MacBook? Can it go further and access my router? I haven't had anything suspicious happen to me or any of my banking info but my most important passwords have certainly been accessed by these extensions [link] [comments]  |

The main command; cmd+r, cmd+s and option bring me to the same screen. I can't do anything with it. Btw, this mac belonged to my school before the new I.T. gives them. | MacBook Pro Powers Up But Won’t Stay On Posted: 03 Nov 2020 06:04 PM PST My replacement battery turned out to be non-oem and died quickly. I have replaced my charger and my Mac worked for a while if plugged in, but today it stopped. It will power up and I can even login in. It then dies. I have a new charger and the battery is new but not OEM. It was garbage. The light comes on (on the charger connection), so I know it's getting juice. They also will be connected to my phone, but won't be playing any sound. When I was looking for the serial # I noticed that the serial # on the box and the one on the AirPods are different. Also the one on the box shows that the warranty doesn't expire until April 2021, and on the pods it tells me to show a valid buy date. Any solutions? [link] [comments]  |
