| Is there something like Crimson: Steam Pirates? Posted: 23 Oct 2020 03:40 AM PDT One of my top favorite iOS games was Crimson: Steam Pirates. It has a unique control mode: you and your opponent issue orders to your ships, and then these orders are performed simultaneously. I still keep this game on my old iPad2, but the device itself has become too laggy. And It's impossible to install the game to the new iPad, as apparently the game was removed from the AppStore. I investigated a bit, and found, that the developer studio was bought by Paradox. Then in 2013 Paradox released Leviathan: Warships, a 3D naval game with the same gameplay: issuing orders and simultaneous performing them. It was states, that Leviathans should've been available for the tablets, but they can't be found in AppStore either. I know the predecessor of the game. It is Steam Birds, which was a Flash game originally. It exists on AppStore, but, as it is not ready for iOS10, it can't be installed. Do you know any other games with the mechanics of issuing orders and simultaneous performing them, preferably in the steampunk setting? Posted: 22 Oct 2020 01:35 AM PDT This mostly bothers me in Call Of Duty: Mobile, where my Fire and Aim buttons are set to the top of the screen. I recently switched to iOS and this is pretty much the only thing bothering me, because when I try to shoot or aim, I accidentally end up opening the Notification center, and even if it doesn't come down the game freezes for a second. Games like Power Stone 2, Dokupon Kingdom, Mario Party (we can dream) and Fat Princess would be right at home with multiplayer on iOS. I mean there are hundreds of games we could possibly name where the iPhone is it's own control/device per player and just tying in multiplayer aspects. Even if everyone needs an Apple Arcade subscription to play, it would be worth it. Maybe Apple could even sell 3 month passes to make adoption easier. I imagine playing Blur (racing game like Mario Kart but with real cars) on iOS with my siblings on the couch during Xmas. Man what a dream that would be. I feel like there there are a lack of multiplayer games on iOS that really take advantage of the power and ubiquity of the hardware for in person multiplayer gaming. Or maybe I have dug deep enough to find the real gems. If you know any gems of iOS gaming, I am open to checking them out.
