Ringtone and alarm louder than notifications?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 09:57 AM PDT

    Hi all!

Returned to iOS after a long period of Android.

Noticed that on my brand new iPhone SE2020 the rigtones and alarms, when o max volume sound way louder thant notifications (iMessage, email, etc.).

I am controlling tone volume with the volume buttons, and as said, it is oalready on max.

Anyone else eperiencing this? Is this supposed to be normal behaviour?

I feel Gmail app notiication tone to be too low even o max volume.

Thanks in advance for your input.

New iPhone SE screen scratched insanely fast. Anyone else having a similar issue?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 02:01 PM PDT

Hi! So I bought a new iPhone SE after almost 3 years of having an iPhone 8. My old phone has lived through many a fall, with or without case, and obviously had those small, barely noticeable scratches that are inevitable without using a screen protector, but nothing unreasonable. However, only two or three days after getting the new SE the screen is unbelievably scratched. It's covered in small scratches, noticeable to the eye but not to the touch, and one scratch that is deep and you can feel to the touch. I haven't dropped it or done anything to it that would cause this, and it's also in a case.

I went to the apple store about this as to me it's clearly a quality issue with the device and they said apple policy doesn't allow for any replacements or repairs since it's "just cosmetic" and it's not a widespread issue.

So I wanted to ask the community, has this or anything similar to this happened to you, with any model? Do you have the SE and have noticed that it scratches super easy compared to any old phone? I'd appreciate your feedback. As a long term iPhone user, this has really left a sour taste in my mouth.

Also, apologies if a similar post has been posted, the reddit search function isn't that great!

Could there be any unintended side effects of sticking an nfc tag on the back of my iPhone?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 04:51 PM PDT

I'd like to put an nfc tag on my iPhone to use it as a key card but I know that the iPhone scans for nearby nfc tags (I think nonstop, as long as it's on)

If I put the sticker on the bottom back of the phone (ie where the keyboard is on the screen, just on the other side) would that cause issues?

Getting 11 Pro, is it better to buy in person from the store or online?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 05:53 PM PDT

Hello, longtime Android user, currently have a Galaxy S8. I've decided to switch to the 11 Pro (257GB) and while I've made peace with the price, figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Is it better to buy this in person, at the Apple store, or could I save by going online? Also open to any tips/advice from those of you who made similar jumps.

There seems to be some sort of screen burn on my iPhone 7 Plus. Anybody else ever had this issue? Any fixes or tips will be appreciated.
