Posted: 01 Sep 2020 07:29 AM PDT So I did some internet searching after ordering my (engraved) iPad the other day, and I was led to believe that purchasing an iPad with an engraving means the return policy is voided. I panicked, and just spoke to someone from Apple, in a desperate attempt to cancel my engraving in case I changed my mind about my £1,000 iPad. Because, well... that's a lot of money for me! The person I spoke to reassured me that returns can still be completed ONLINE - purchasing an engraved iPad only means it cannot be returned or exchanged in-store (unless the item is completely dead/unresponsive). Yes, I am aware that the engraving will lower the resale value, but with the return policy still applicable, there are more pros than cons to the engraving IMO. Just wanted to provide some reassurance for anyone considering buying an engraved iPad! [link] [comments]
good note taking app for shorties (with an apple pencil) Posted: 01 Sep 2020 01:16 PM PDT so, we got an apple pencil for the shorties in our lives doing distance learning. while there's a good selection of "adult" note-taking apps—they all seem a little bit overkill for kiddo's. and note-taking might be the wrong term. they often need to just sketch something out in class to turn-in—no, long, on-going continuous feeds of information they need to (yet) track for upcoming tests. got any recommendations? Looking for a USB-C hub that literally just has 2 USB-C ports – one for data and one for charging. Posted: 01 Sep 2020 10:18 AM PDT I really don't want a large block stuck to the end of my iPad and I won't be using any USB-A, HDMI, or Ethernet connections. The only things I've found are a few listings of [this product on eBay](www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124068416273). It states that it's only for audio and at that price, I doubt I'd trust it for anything. Has anybody here came across anything decent? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:54 AM PDT Is it for iCloud backup? Personally I see no reason for telegram but what about apps in general? If you use iCloud Backup, will only apps that have the toggle key ON only have their data backed up? I have never used that - I'm only guessing a possibility. Take an app like iMessage. If I do not turn on iCloud, will I not be able to see the message I send from my tab when I access iMessage from a Mac? [link] [comments]
Should I update my iPad Air (1st gen) from 2013 to iOS 12.4.8 Posted: 01 Sep 2020 04:05 AM PDT Hey guys. I have an iPad Air 1st gen that I have been using for a long time. I generally use it for note taking (Notability) academic reading (Mendeley), media consumption (Netflix and Youtube), Reddit and general reading. Since I was afraid that further updates might cripple my device, I am not updating it for a while (I had a bad experience with my iPod touch 4th Gen when I update it to iOs 6. It is still unusable). It has iOS version 10.3.3. My biggest worries are battery life and performance. My iPad still delivers in battery life but performance has been sluggish lately. It can do the tasks I want him to do but barely (only exception is note taking app and Netflix. They run smoothly). Also lots of apps only the App Store requires newer versions of iOS. Now that I saw iOS 12 was good for older devices, I am thinking about updating my device. Is there any iPad Air 1st Gen user that can share real life advice? My expectations are (1) keeping the battery life as it is, (2) having a better performance, (3) not having a problem with my current apps. TL;DR: Should I update my iPad Air 1st Gen from iOS 10.3.3 to 12.4.8? I am scared that the update will cripple my device or destroy battery life. I still use it daily. [link] [comments]

Is it possible to use a keyboard case with ipad screen face down? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 01:30 PM PDT With virtual school starting for my daughter in a week and her home device being her 7th gen ipad I bought her the lighting to hdmi connector and set it up with a 23inch monitor I had lying around. The set up seems to work well except she has a keyboard case (logitech rugged folio) which is disabled when putting the ipad face down with keyboard facing up. Obviously she doesn't need the ipad screen with the monitor and it just gets in the way. Is there a way to set the ipad to use the keyboard on the case irrespective of orientation? Or if not is it possible to use the external monitor as a second non-mirrored screen which I guess could be useful? I'm not an apple user myself but I looked around and couldn't find anything on this hyper specific situation. Thanks for any insight. [link] [comments]

Simple, free text graphics app? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 02:50 AM PDT Hi all, I'm looking for an app to make simple text based graphics. The more fonts the better and it would be best if it was dead simple to use, pick up and go :) More specifically I would like to make neat little flashcards, so I literally need a fill tool, a 'centre text' tool, and a nice font or two. Apple pencil support for little arrows etc. would be nice. Thanks 😊 [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 11" (2018) camera close up Posted: 31 Aug 2020 10:42 PM PDT Id like to know the minimum distance that there must be between the camera of iPad Pro 11" (2018) and the subject before focus isn't possible anymore. [link] [comments]
Capturing keystrokes on the iPad Posted: 31 Aug 2020 09:08 PM PDT Hi, does anyone know a simple way to capture types keystrokes on the iPad? The use case is that I'm screen recording and would like to show the typed keys. Key caste on the Mac is a good example of the kind of functionality I'm looking at. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Aug 2020 09:58 PM PDT I'm looking for an app that basically is just one note and that's it. No save features, no nothing. I want to be able to just open the app and jot things down quickly, or use it as scratch paper for some quick calculations and whatnot. Are there any good apps like this? [link] [comments]
Reflector 3 or AirServer for mirroring to PC? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 03:36 PM PDT Hey all, so that's basically my question. I do lots of art with Procreate and I'm bummed that I can't screenshare to my friends on Discord, so I thought I'd look into something that lets me mirror my screen to my laptop. My idea is basically: Draw on iPad > Mirror Screen > Share screen from laptop on Discord. That's all I want, really. I've found these two softwares and I'm wondering which one you consider is the best and why? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
