Posted: 05 Sep 2020 05:12 PM PDT With every major cable channel having their own streaming service these days (and me not watching that much TV as is) I'm wondering if it's cheaper to just ditch cable swap to just Comcast Internet & an Apple TV + streaming apps? I've had my cable subscription for close to decade now and was reluctant to make a full switch because I feared I wouldn't get as much content as I did with Comcast. But now the landscape has changed and everyone is offering some kind of streaming service for their channel's stuff making me reconsider it. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Apple TV 4K. Ethernet connection worse than WIFI. Posted: 05 Sep 2020 11:28 PM PDT Hi. I have an issue where the Ethernet connection is working worse than when I got the device connected to Internet through my WIFI. This is particularly apparent in some apps such as the Euronews app and while watching Apple TV+ content. In this cases the content buffer a lot and is in very low quality. When switching to WiFi these apps work fine, just as they should. I need the Ethernet connection so switching to only WiFi isn't really an option. Anyone else got this problem? Can I reset the Apple TV somehow? On my old 1080p Apple TV I could connect it to iTunes through USB-C, but the 4K doesn't have the USB-C. Thank you for your comments.😊 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Sep 2020 10:22 PM PDT I'm having issues with Netflix and Amazon Prime buffering or not playing on my Apple TV. YoutubeTV seems to be not affected. My internet speed seems to be normal as well. Tried rebooting router and AppleTv. Any advice? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Sep 2020 10:39 AM PDT I've been using it for years, no issues, nothings changed that I've noticed, but randomly one night, the TV would not turn off with the AppleTV, we had lost the original remote, and it's mounted high on a wall so I had to get out a ladder to turn off the TV. And ever since then the TV only turns on and off with the AppleTV maybe 10-20% of the time, the rest of the time I have to get on the ladder. Any thoughts on what it might be? Basic googling tells me it will only do it while the main ATV remote is paired, so if that remote is dead then it won't, but I've made sure that is not the case and of course I've tried restarting, have not tried restoring since I'm lazy in a weird way where I've done more work going on ladders then the effort of setting it up from scratch haha. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Help Needed - Daisy Chain HDMI through sound-bar? Posted: 05 Sep 2020 10:44 AM PDT Hi folks. For my TV I use a commercial-grade display with no sound, so I have a soundbar connected by optical audio to my 3rd gen Apple TV. I'm looking into a new Apple TV that doesn't have optical audio. The sound bar also has HDMI in and out - could I daisy chain the device, sound bar and TV with HDMI and still get both video and audio? [link] [comments] |

Unable to turn my TV off with my ATV remote Posted: 05 Sep 2020 05:35 AM PDT I have a Sharp HD TV and an Apple TV 4K. When I turn on my Apple TV the TV starts up, I can adjust the volume fine, but I cannot turn off my TV with the Apple TV remote. I've tried turning on HDMI-CEC on the TV and using the IR sender on the remote and point it at the TV, as those are the most common solutions I've seen, but none of those seem to work. Now I'm all out of ideas and would appreciate any help [link] [comments] |
