Posted: 28 Aug 2020 03:08 PM PDT So I was sitting in the bathtub minding my own business talking to someone on iMessage but I got a random message saying I was logged out of my Apple ID. I logged back in, all was fine but then it said that my Apple ID got locked, and I had to get out from my bath to go to my PC to unlock it via email. This is very annoying and this had happened on multiple occasions by now. I use email on my iMessage but since I have my SIM card in it it also has my phone number. I like my privacy so I usually just give away the email if anybody wants to iMessage me, but whenever I log back in and unlock it, it displays my NUMBER to everyone which is pretty annoying. Does anybody else experiences this? If so, are there any fixes? I use 2 iMessage accounts logged in on my phone, and I have an iPhone 11 [link] [comments]  |

I know it's strange, but since he died I've felt it very comforting to text his phone number. My family recently cancelled his cellphone account and since I don't want to creep out the new owner of my dad's old phone number, I was wondering if it was possible for me to replace his phone number with an e-mail address and retain all of the texts/messages in my phone and continue to send texts to the e-mail. I just got a new phone and transferred all my stuff but my iCloud storage filled a while ago so it didn't save my photos from the past few months. | Posted: 28 Aug 2020 01:49 PM PDT What the title says. I've had this phone since it came out and never had any problems with it. I've been signed out of of apple for a long time and was overdue for an update but didn't think too much of it. After updating to the current software version I can literally watch my battery % drop minute to minute. Sending texts, scrolling reddit, it drops about 1% every minute or so. I am super agitated by this because I've always liked the small size of this phone and I do not want to upgrade until this thing blows up in my pocket. And like I stated before, the battery has NEVER had problems. Is this planned obsolescence? My phone would literally last two days before on one charge. I don't use wifi, i don't use bluetooth, i keep battery saver on, I don't have apps refesh in the background ... ?! My battery capacity is 84%, but it's the draining that has me worried. Over the course of an hour I sent a handful of texts and that burned up 10% of my battery. What gives!? Can anyone help? Could I somehow reset the whole phone to get back to factory settings? Would that help? It's has a sim card, but I'm pretty sure numbers and whatnot are stored on the phone, and I don't want to lose everything. This totally sucks and I'd really appreciate some help. My iphone 11 will not ring when someone calls and I dont have the number saved in my contacts. Even when Im using my phone and im scrolling through instagram, the screen wont change, no ringing, no vibrate. The only thing i get is a notification saying I missed a phone call. My phone was NOT on silent, and my phone is NOT on Do Not Disturb. I have tried resetting but it seems that doing so has done NOTHING. Its quite frustrating when Im missing important phone calls from college or for an appointment and then when I call back I am told by the front desk workers that im gonna have to wait for a call back when they're not dealing with others due to limited staff. I would rather not have to add every advisor that calls me from college onto my phone if i talk to them once, maybe twice. What could possibly be causing this issue? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 28 Aug 2020 11:59 AM PDT OK… Hopefully someone knows more than I do. This happened to a friend, so I'm asking through my account because their phone isn't working. Friend was on her iPhone 11 sending a text message. The phone buzzed that she had a response, and when she picked up the phone the screen was black. When she tried to open up the screen, by swiping up, the screen said "iPhone Disabled". After some investigating, she tried to restore her phone back to factory settings by going through iTunes on a computer. This really didn't do anything. She spoke with someone at Apple, that was a joy, and they told her she had to restore it through her email account that is linked to the phone. Well when she tries to go on the account that is registered to the phone, which is a yahoo account and really old, she's unable to access it from a computer without entering a code that I sent to her phone. Alas, her phone is disabled and she cannot get the code. So she tries to call Yahoo, at the recommendation of Apple, to get access to her email again so she can have her phone restored, and never gets through to anybody. Obviously this is turning into a cluster fuck. She has her Sim card ready to place into another phone temporarily but she has no idea how she's supposed to get this fixed. Should she go through her phone insurance? Is there some fix she can do without having to go into an Apple store? Apple wasn't very helpful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! | Tapping the Photos icon in Messages makes both apps unresponsive Posted: 28 Aug 2020 11:35 AM PDT Device: iPhone 11 max pro, 13.6.1. Had the issue since 13.1. Issue: Occasionally when I go to attach a photo to a message in the Messages app by tapping the Photos icon, the area where photo previews would normally be is blank. Example. When that happens the Messages app becomes unresponsive. Can't go back, switch to keyboard input, etc. Attempting to load the Photos app also fails with a blank screen. Killing the apps doesn't help. Issue persists until I restart the phone. The only thing I've been able to attribute the issue to, but can't reliably reproduce, is that I've recently taken a screenshot. After rebooting there aren't any broken photos, and screenshots I've taken open fine. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

It's been a long long while since I have updated my phone, I didn't have free memory. I had to download an app, so I signed in to my apple account and things started updating. Before the update, my phone battery life would last about a full day with browsing apps, making calls, sending texts, and checking the weather. If it just sat there, I could get about two full days on one charge. Now, I can almost watch the battery life drop minute to minute. Sending texts - just texts, over the course of an hour depletes my battery by 10%. The efficiency of my battery, before and after the update, is 85%. Wondering if anyone has experienced this as well, and if so, how to remedy the situation. I love apple products, but this is ridiculous. I've got wifi off, low power mode on, the screen dimmed, and the power drops while it is literally sitting on a table. As I've been typing this, my phone has just lost 3% power, and I've only checked and sent two text messages. Any help or suggestions would be very very helpful, thank you. [link] [comments]  |

I noticed I am not getting a SMS on my phone now when trying to verify a number or getting my 2FA (from questrade and sometimes from facebook). I am worried because of this I am potentially missing out on other messages. And the last one is one of my friend says my text message shows "sent from web". I sent the message through the imessage app on the iphone via sms. If anything I came from an S10+ and I did have RCS on and did not turn it off prior to switching, however I cannot disable it via the google website but have resetted the phone. I tried to put my new sim in the device but don't know how to turn it off via the samsung messages app. I also switch carriers if that is worth noting. | iPhone storage full, need to update/reboot but mac doesn't detect it Posted: 28 Aug 2020 06:13 AM PDT Hello all, My iPhone storage is full (iPhone 6S, with the last updated OS version I believe). It wouldn't let me delete pictures through the photo app, and dumb me thought if I restarted it that it might work again. But now the phone keeps looping in the apple home screen, not turning on. Yes I know I should have back it up before, but what's done is done and now my priority is recovering as many files as I can. From my research I know that I might have to upload it (to not lose data), and if not possible reboot. The thing is any of my computers (one Mac other PC) are detecting the phone so I can't go through that process. Is there a way I can make the Mac detect the iPhone? If not, I've heard of a software called iMazing, but I would only purchase it if I knew for sure that I could keep the phone's files while reinstalling the system.
