Sonos Arc on Apple TV 4K on an LG Nano - Silent when Dolby Atmos Posted: 29 Aug 2020 05:22 PM PDT So, I have a new 2020 LG Nano, with eARC, hooked an HDMI into the Sonos Arc soundbar. On Apple TV 4K, I have the audio set to Dolby Atmos. When watching most movies/apps, sound is good. When I turn on something Atmos specific (like a Marvel movie on Disney+), it's complete silence. When switching to the LG native app for Disney+ it sounds great. Why isn't it working when using Apple TV though? [link] [comments]
Into The Spider Verse: Only In Spanish Posted: 30 Aug 2020 12:28 AM PDT Hey everyone, I live in Spain and use Apple TV to rent & purchase movies. Every movie I get has multiple language and subtitle options - I always change the settings to original (English). However, I went to buy Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse and the description only lists Spanish as the only language option. It says: Spanish (Spain) (Subtitles). Usually, all movies list Spanish (Spain) (Subtitles) as the primary and then a host of additional languages. TLDR: Am I right to assume that the audio is in English but that there is only an option for Spanish subtitles? If so, perfect! Cheers in advance! [link] [comments]
Only one Apple TV’s TV App unable to recognize my Showtime subscription content within Hulu Posted: 29 Aug 2020 10:29 PM PDT The TV app on all my devices allows me to view, play and syncs progress for the Showtime content that I'm subscribed to via Hulu, except for one of my Apple TVs. On this one Apple TV, it behaves as though I do not have Showtime content playable with Hulu and defaults to asking me to subscribe to the Apple TV channel for Showtime for that particular content. The TV app on this one ATV does work as it should with all the general Hulu content, it just can't see that I have Showtime. The TV app on all the other devices I use have no problems recognizing my Showtime content in Hulu and it syncs perfectly. I have done all the restarts, resets, disconnect/reconnect from the TV app, uninstall/reinstalls with no success. I only have one Hulu account and I'm logged in the same on all devices. Anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions to fix? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Aug 2020 04:44 PM PDT Does the Apple TV (I have a 4K) support anything other than the SBC codec for Bluetooth audio? I'm connecting a BTR3K and it's only using SBC when connected to the ATV, but uses AAC on my other Apple devices. SBC sounds awful in comparison. Running non-beta firmware on the ATV. Posted: 29 Aug 2020 02:44 PM PDT Does Apple TV require other streaming apps to use their CDN service or can something like Disney+ use their own CDN and stream directly to the box vs having Apple in the middle as a single point of failure for every single app? I have noticed when one streaming app has issues, they all do. [link] [comments]
Samsung Tv won’t detect Apple TV Posted: 29 Aug 2020 10:30 AM PDT Turned off and on Anynet+ (CEC). Nothing Swapped HDMI cables. Nothing Countless power cycles, reset Samsung Tv, Reset apple. The problem only began when the HDMI cable got disconnected accidentally. I have this problem before but it would automatically detect after a simple restart of Apple TV. I know it's not the TV because it can detect my other devices just fine. Anyone know if Apple is working on this or know how to resolve this issue? [link] [comments]
Apple TV to disrupt the TV market but is it now part of the problem? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 12:35 PM PDT First let me say I love my AppleTV and all the things it can do. Having said that I feel as though Apple missed a lot of good chances to become a great leader in this industry by allowing AppleTV to be a "hobby" for way to long. I am fine with Apple creating original content (I know that is a big debate.) But I must say I am disappointed to see they are missing the traditional television market to other companies and then allowing us to watch the programs via apps. So Apple never intended or figured out a way to kill the cable company? Or sometimes even worse Apple has adopted this terrible new business model (in my opinion) to sell subscriptions to every streamer out there. HBO Max, Showtime, Epix, Starz, Lifetime +, CBS, History Channel, BBC/iTV, BET, the list goes on and on (and some of these are basic channels, not premiums.) Now I am a person that is completely supportive off having choices but as you start to add your favorites up the streaming channels begin to cost a good deal and can even rival traditional cable. (I have no intention of going back to cable but I do hope to improve the streaming experience.) There isn't an easy fix I am sure but I wish Apple would buy the now defunct Playstation Vue streaming service. It was rated as one of the best. Then apple could add these bundles on top of that basic service at a discount. A bundle should be cheaper as we all know so please Apple give us the discounts we deserve for subscribing through you and not another crap streaming service. [link] [comments]
Dolby Vision doesn’t look as clear on ATV Posted: 29 Aug 2020 05:57 AM PDT I just got a new TCL 5 Series QLED and been testing out the built in Roku apps vs. using my Apple TV. The TV supports 120hz refresh while ATV only goes up to 60hz but it's more than that... that actual quality just seems "washed out".... I have the highest format selected from my ATV (4K Dolby Vision 60hz). Any ideas on how to make it as clear or am I better off using the built in apps? [link] [comments]

Screen turning off and on every few minutes during some movies? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 07:17 AM PDT I've been noticing this problem, mostly with rented content from the iTunes store but also sometimes with stuff from a channel, where every 5 to 10 minutes my screen will turn off for 2 to 3 seconds. I've reset all my monitor's settings and all of the Apple TV's video settings. I've restarted my Apple TV. I ran software update. Keeps happening. I ran the HDMI signal test and it reported no problems. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Aug 2020 07:46 AM PDT Or only 4K@60 HZ? Of course I mean the Apple TV 4K model. [link] [comments]
