Now that widgets are finally seeing some love, are notifications next? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 12:15 AM PDT Just wondered what everyone's thoughts are on notifications. I still think they are a way off being where they should be. Hoping they are the next thing Apple spend some overdue time on. [link] [comments]

Apple should do something about the abominably large app sizes Posted: 28 Aug 2020 09:43 PM PDT Don't get me wrong, I am not hating on Apple. In fact, after my last 4 phones as iPhones, I can't even think of migrating to the other side. But iOS app sizes are just too large compared to android and the thing gets worse as Apple won't allow expansion and charges $100 for the next storage tier. For instance, Spotify on Android is 25 MB but 140 MB on iOS (~6x). Gmail on Android is 20 MB and on iOS is 280 MB (~14x). LinkedIn on Android is 30 MB but on iOS is 200 MB (~6x). I have no programming background either for Android or iOS but can hypothesise that Apple should at least acknowledge the issue and provide more storage space. The way I see it is that a 256 GB iphone is probably similar to a 64 GB android in terms of storage situation considering just how large iOS apps are in comparison to their Android counterparts. Would like to know others' thoughts and understand why isn't there much outcry on this. I know storage has got cheaper but unfortunately, not on the iOS side of things. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Aug 2020 06:34 AM PDT For instance at my location, according to Weather there's a 40% chance of rain at 1PM and it rises all afternoon. The website says there's a 15% chance of rain all day. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Aug 2020 05:20 AM PDT Hello. I just started iOS programming and this is kinda like my first app without any help. The ones done before were following tutorials. I am trying to make a screen recording app and want to integrate a feature to display gestures in the recording(preferably recording only but even while usage should be acceptable). In my research I found that I will need ReplayKit for the recording but could not find a kit dealing with gestures. Any suggestions on what will I need to use? Does ReplayKit itself have a function I missed that would help me record gestures or it will need some other kit? Please help this noob. [link] [comments]

Would it be possible to have a function to add notes / manual info to photos on the camera roll? Posted: 28 Aug 2020 11:53 AM PDT I like to organize my camera roll and sometimes that includes wanting to add some notes onto photos. Eg, if it's a photo of a flower to jot down what kind it is, or a photo of a screenshot, to include the link somewhere. I'm not a developer so I have no idea how feasible it is, but I wish there was a digital way of scribbling notes on the back of a photograph. [link] [comments]
What search engine do you use? And why? Posted: 28 Aug 2020 03:32 PM PDT I'd really like to know what people use, i feel like apple could have done a lot more with safari, like google. The app "Google", not chrome, has a weather display and news section with the search bar, also it has a lot more to it. Don't get me wrong, i do use safari, i feel like it's more cleaner, and i can't explain it but i like to use the standard app, which is dumb because there is a reason there is an app store.
