I've tried the windows key as cmd and alt as option but it not entering recovery mode. Any advice? Edit: It worked. I had to press alt(option)S and enter this comands: mount -uw / launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist ls /Users (to get the username) passwd username (username being the username I got) It was snow leopard. | Need help deciding what iPad to buy Posted: 28 Aug 2020 06:45 PM PDT Hello everyone - I've been waiting to buy an iPad for a while now and I'm finally ready to bite the bullet and get one. I want to get an iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd gen). If I have my dates and facts correct this one was just released in March. The only thing holding me back from getting it right now is the fear I buy it and the price drops after the next iPad Pro gets released in a couple weeks. The one released is out of my price range and frankly I don't think I'll need it for how powerful it will be. I realized that at full volume, the sound coming out of the speaker is breaking and is not crystal clear, I checked my friend's phone at full volume, and it was clear, the sound was not breaking. Posted: 28 Aug 2020 09:43 PM PDT I have iOS beta 6 on my iPhone 7 and it's VERY good but thea battery life is trash as expected because my battery health is at 66% but my iPad Pro 9.7" has 87% battery health and lasts from 9AM to about 7PM From 100% with constantly streaming youtube and hulu. | 1.03 GB of space needed to install macOS Catalina Posted: 28 Aug 2020 05:38 PM PDT Last night I started an update to install Catalina on my MacBook Pro. After I restarted it to install the software I went to bed. When I woke up I noticed that the installation failed because there wasn't enough space on the hard drive. After searching on google I noticed that is a common problem and that my options are to either erase my disk drives, re-install Catalina, then restore my MacBook from a time machine backup or an external drive. Or I could visit an Apple store so that they can hook up another laptop to access my data/files and store them to make space on my hard drive so that the OS could be installed. My problem is that I failed to back up my data and files before I started the download/installation. I double checked the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" in recovery but I don't have any backups showing up. It would really suck to lose a lot of different files I have saved, so my only option is to go to the Apple store. Except all the apple stores around me are closed due to COVID-19. Do I have any other options to free up space on my MacBook without losing any data/files I have saved? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 28 Aug 2020 05:37 PM PDT Recently, the touchscreen of an iPhone 6s stopped working, it charged and can be turned on and off using the home and the sleep button, but other than that, the screen doesn't work. I was going to try and save my photos by connecting it to the windows pc but I realized I would need to unlock the phone and click "trust my computer". Is there a way around this? Apart from saving my photos and videos I would also like to save my contacts as well. Is there a way to also save my contacts? I didn't use iCloud by the way because I have too many pictures and videos, the standard iCloud storage wouldn't be enough. [link] [comments]  |

I opened up Snapchat and it said i needed to "Allow access to the camera" so i pressed on the popup that took my too my settings and did nothing at all. I went to the privacy page and no apps have access to use my phones nor are there any apps to choose to give access to. The page is completely blank. I was going to post a screen recording i took of my settings but since no app has access to the camera or photos, I'm shit out of luck. [link] [comments]  |

Both the above mentioned configurations cost the exact same and I am confused. Some things to keep in mind:

I am hoping to export my entire iMessage history with my mother, ideally as a word document, or a pdf secondly. I have done a lot of googling, and can only find paid applications, occasionally with free trials for ~50 messages or so. Does anybody know of a way to do this for 1,000+ messages for free? Posted: 28 Aug 2020 12:34 PM PDT I'm unable to use Premiere as it says it requires permissions to access the desktop (no shit) the problem is detailed on this post but if you look at the screenshot in step 1, there are plenty of apps there. My system lists nothing, and there's no prompts to add! Screenshot I'm on a work computer with admin privileges so I can unlock the settings but when i put in my password - nothing happens or appears, and the +/- buttons stay inactive.
