[Help] Can't re-enable cellular data for specific apps in settings Posted: 05 Jul 2020 10:02 PM PDT I've tried to restart, turn on airplane mode, turn off all cellular options, resetting network settings, nothing I'm able to switch on the data for the app but it somehow turns back off when I restart the settings app. I have TMobile, iPhone Xs 12.1 [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to still show text message alerts but without showing who it’s from? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 08:07 PM PDT Like where it just says text message instead of the persons name? [link] [comments] |
Should I “upgrade”? Please help Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:19 PM PDT So I have an iPhone XS that I got right when it launched and only operating at 83% battery performance. I saw that I could trade in my XS and get an iPhone SE 2020 for free and actually get a little money back. So I'm really considering getting the SE, should I do it? [link] [comments] |
Can those "virus was found!" pop ups do damage? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 08:05 PM PDT I clicked on a link on Google to a website and the pop up came up saying "39 viruses found from visiting adult websites!" I just clicked out of the window and cleared my history for the past hour, figuring I'm ok. But my anxiety's been spiking lately over everything and now I'm worried. Can those pop ups do any real damage? I was on Safari on an iPhone XR if that matters. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 07:01 PM PDT I get about 4.5 -5 mins per 1% on 4G browsing safari or watching YouTube. My battery is usually at 10% at the end of the day 11pm, after moderate to high use on and off from 9am. Can anyone advise if this is normal on a new iPhone 11 Pro, not max [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:31 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm from germany and I need a new battery for my iPhone XS. What would you recommand as a good brand? I heard from ifixit. Has anybody experience with them? What about programming the serial number to the new battery? What are good and cheap opportunities? Thanks a lot! -Ken [link] [comments] |

“Photos” section missing from messages Info page, can’t find old pics. Posted: 05 Jul 2020 12:33 PM PDT I'm having trouble recovering photos in my messages. I was having trouble with storage on my iPhone the "other" category kept expanding, I made a back up of my phone and then did a factory reset and restore. Everything looks normal at first but now I'm trying to find old pics in my messages. When I click on "info" for the message none of the information for Photos, Links, etc is there. Only the toggles for receipts and alerts and the contact/location sharing stuff. If I scroll up in the message I can see some of the photos are there. If I check the messages area in storage under pics I can also see some really old photos are still on the phone. What's the solution to access the photos and get the photos tab back in info? The photos I want to recover are 2 years old so scrolling back manually would be a pain. I couldn't recover them before my reset because whatever was ballooning my storage basically prevented me from saving them. I also just tried manually scrolling back through texts and I could only get back to December 2019 before it stopped loading texts. Thanks for any assistance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 12:29 PM PDT Hi, My wife have a problem with her iPhone 8, latest iOS (13.5.1). The phone started to drain battery very fast, and become very warm. The phone could easly drain a full battery in a few hours. She had me look at it, and I've been troubleshooting this for a while now, and need help. First of, the iPhone have started making notes "iPhone havn't been backed up to iCloud since 25th of april". When going into settings of iCloud backup, and tries to manually start backup it's just getting stuck at "calculating remaning time" or something similar. Tried to shut the iCloud backup of, and it just hung there. Had to force reboot with the buttons on the side. Today I tried to backup the phone on iTunes (Windows 10). Promted if I wanted to encypt the backup, I ticked "yes" and started backup. Nothing happens from here. Cannot see any progres bar either in iTunes (really loves iTunes (sarcasm)). The folder on computer is created, but empty. If you have any questions or have any tips/hits on how to solve this, please let me know. We don't mind to factory restore the phone, but would like to make a backup to iCloud or iTunes first. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 12:19 PM PDT I'm looking to upgrade my phone. I was thinking an XS, but after seeing the resale price (around $420) it doesn't make sense to me to get an XS over an XR ($380) or X ($320) which both have similar specs with the exception of the XR having a slightly worse camera. What would you guys recommend. [link] [comments] |

Iphone 7 “Other” storage takes up 16gb Posted: 05 Jul 2020 10:53 AM PDT Title pretty much says all. I updated to the newest IoS a week ago, and had been getting full storage notifications, I thought it was some new apps I downloaded so I deleted them, but it filled back up on its own. The "other" section of system storage is 16gb! And the "system" storage is 5.56gb! How the heck do I clear this storage? [link] [comments] |
My iPhone gets my location wrong Posted: 05 Jul 2020 10:48 AM PDT My iPhone thinks I am in Georgia but I live 5 hours away from Georgia I have tried for an hour to fix this craigslist is unusable as all the items are 5 hours away and it is frustrating when I look up directions and they end up being wrong. Battery/Phone Bug? (IPHONE 11) Posted: 05 Jul 2020 09:49 AM PDT Just the other night my phone would get super hot while charging and the morning after the battery would drain fast. I've tried resetting the settings/network settings/ and the phone. Currently, the phone doesn't drain as fast, but now the battery only goes to 80%? I turned off optimized charging and have turned off/on any battery saving feature I could find via google/etc. I just got the phone in November of 2019. When charging the charger and phone get warm now, even when off. Is my phone about to die already? (I am on the latest iOS). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:17 AM PDT I'm completely miffed. I had 36,000 pictures that used 6.45gb of data. I am now down to 29,000 and after deleting them a second time from the "Recently Deleted", my photos app went from 6.45gb all the way to.....it didn't change. It was still 6.45. However, when I deleted just a few photos from my conversations in iMessages, it went to 6.39gb. (So my usage went down in photos, not conversations/texts, even though that's where I deleted them.) I have got to be doing something wrong here. Deleting 7000 pictures should free up room in my phone. I have the iCloud and 90gb of that is photos. [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to permanently delete an app from your purchase history. Posted: 05 Jul 2020 12:12 AM PDT I know there is the hide option but if you search for the app again or it comes trending there is always that icon with the cloud and an arrow pointing downwards. I have deleted all of the apps data on iCloud and an the device and I have hidden it in purchase history. I even made iCloud not do backups of apps and tried with a new app and after delegating everything it still had the symbol. Is there a way to permanently remove an app from your history because I find it creepy to always have that kind of information kept somewhere. [link] [comments] |
