| Posted: 09 Jul 2020 12:23 AM PDT I bought my husband an iPhone X (I think that's the model!) 3 years ago. He half set it up on his iTunes, when he tried to unlock it, he forgot his pass code, incorrectly entered too many times and got locked out. It is now showing as disabled, and to plug into iTunes, however nothing happens when we plug it into his computer with iTunes. It is not showing as a device on his iTunes. I have lost my phone and now I need to use it so we just want to restore it to factory settings but we cant even get into it! Can someone please help? Thanks [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 08 Jul 2020 05:11 PM PDT So a few days ago I was camping with my family and I forgot my phone was in my pocket. Long story short it got a bit wet after submerging in a river. A couple days later i've had it sitting in various food items (Rice and bread XD) and it is dry. I plug it in, and promisingly enough it shows the dead battery without the little plug symbol, meaning it is charging. A few minutes later it turned on, but the screen was very weakly responsive... Anyways I had to go do a few things that day, so I powered off the phone and plugged it back in. Later that day I came home and tried powering it on. The apple logo showed up, but then it disappeared and showed the "On" blacks screen then powered off, then again it showed the logo, and repeated over and over. It did this until I got fed up and unplugged it to continue until it was dead. I would assume the weakly responsive screen would just mean a screen replacement, but does anyone have a clue why its doing the loop? This is an Iphone 6 (basic edition). Just happened to my iPhone 11 and while the screen was black my phone was still technically working because I could feel the haptic vibrations if I held my finger down on the screen on an app. It went back to normal after I restarted the phone but I'm just curious to know why this could happen. I hate having to swipe up after it unlocks to use my phone, I would prefer if once it unlocks from seeing my face I am just using my phone. Thanks! | Posted: 08 Jul 2020 08:44 AM PDT After the latest update 13.5.1, my iPhone XS started having some malfunctions, I updated on 6/23. It started with the Face ID not working, then I noticed that the phone was no longer charging. My phone eventually died. When it died it wouldn't charge but when it was plugged in it would get very hot. After, a few hours it turned on for about 15 minutes. I did a force restart because that's what the folks at apple I was chatting with said to do. It didn't help the phone turned back off. I took the phone to best buy, A guy told me that it seems to be some connection issues but and said I might have to get a new phone. Over the next three days I extracted as much information as I could because it backing it up would take to long I had a lot of information on there. On the third day, 4/27, the phone turned on and was charging. It was working with no issues until today 7/8. My phone was charging and overheating. I let it cool down and the process started over again. The facial ID not working and not charging. It won't even charge with a wireless charger. I hope it's not a ploy to get me to buy a new phone. I just paid the phone off 5/21 and turned off the insurance. I've had the phone for more than a year so it is also out of warranty. I don't want to purchase a new phone. I have the tools to take the phone apart, but I don't know what the next step would be. I just know how to change the battery. Does anyone know of this problem and how to fix it? [link] [comments]  |

Same problems using both google maps and Apple Maps app. Model: iPhone X iOS: 13.5.1 Carrier: AT&T The gps lags and won't update while driving, updates every mile or 2 which makes it difficult when making turns. Location accuracy is off (for example, will often show me in a Neighborhood to the side of a highway while driving on the highway). Does not seem to be linked to reception as it happens with one bar Or multiple bars Things I've tried: Location services: toggled off and on and set to always for gps apps Date/time: set automatically I did a full factory default reset which did not help alleviate the problem Apple support was not very helpful and I'm stuck on next steps. I have an iPhone 6s, 12GB total storage and 4.3GB of which is "other" I'd really appreciate any help you may have as I've tried everything I can find. Things I have tried: - Cleared safari data - removed large message attachments - removed all messages - deleted offline maps - removed all music, tv shows, and movies - purchased the 50GB icloud storage to store photos - Turned off the iCloud backup of photos because people suggested to other that photos get "lost" in the transfer. - Wipe the phone and restore from a backup. - Did a complete factory reset, didn't even restore from a backup just started new. After the factory reset I could use my phone like normal for 2 weeks, and it was lovely. These past few months have been pretty stressful for all of us, and this small problem being eliminated was a surprising heavy burden lifted. Then today I got the dreaded message saying my phone was full already. I know the easy answer is to just get a new phone with a lot more storage, but I'm pretty fucking poor at the moment. | Itunes restore and USB cable issue Posted: 08 Jul 2020 02:57 PM PDT Hey Folks, I forgot my password to access the ipad air, and the ipad is not recognizing the USB cable until the ipad is unlocked because the ipad died on me and restarted, which requires me to add the password. The USB cable does however charge the ipad until it is back on to the password screen area, but then it stops charging altogether. "ipad requires password after restarting" "unlock to use accessory". I tried to restore it through itunes because I have already created a backup of the ipaid last week, but the following error pops up on windows 7: "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows doe snot recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message" So, i cannot access the ipad because I forgot my password, and the ipad does not recognize the USB cable when it is on, which is why i cannot access itunes because the ipad does not recognize any USB cable, so i cannot restore it to my last backup. Is this really all going down just because I forgot my password? It's not like the ipad is permanently locked due to many failed password attempts, it is only locked because the ipad died on me and restarted. Anybody know what to do here? It worked but the problem now is that I synced to my dads work phone instead of my phone. Every time I go to settings to log out of his Icloud account, I keep getting the notification to put in his password, so i'm basically unable to click sign out. However, the three most previous boarding passes are not mine and have somebody else's name on them. I am confused about what this means or why this might have happened. Posted: 08 Jul 2020 03:19 AM PDT Yesterday I accidentally dropped my not-waterproof iPhone SE into some water. I quickly fished it out and dried it off on a towel, then put in a box with some rice. It's says "this person shares location with you. Would you like to share yours?" Share or Cancel I don't speak to them much anymore so curious if happens automatically and if they are notified if I accept or cancel the request. It doesn't come off, but it also didn't affect anything so far - colours and touch screen are working fine, and the line itself is impossible to notice most of the time.
