| Posted: 27 Jul 2020 10:46 PM PDT Just got the a new unit for a new TV. The remote (fully charged) is really laggy. The Apple TV itself sits behind the TV. I've never had any issues with any other Apple TV units being stored behind the TV before. I'm able to control the Apple TV with my LG remote, but I'm just annoyed. Any suggestions? | Posted: 27 Jul 2020 07:09 PM PDT Does anyone know what the purpose of the function "move to TV" is after long-pressing an app on the home screen and hitting play/pause to bring up the options? I accidentally did this to the "TV" app on the home screen months ago, and literally cannot figure any way to get the TV app back on the home screen. I can only use the "TV" button on the remote to toggle between home screen and TV mode. And seemingly any app has this same option available, with the possibility of sending it into the abyss forever. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 28 Jul 2020 03:09 AM PDT The videos stop out of the blue, the app is jittery, not smooth as you'd expect. When you leave a movie or a show in the middle, it often does not resume at where you left. It really feels a lot like a glitchy third party app. Now, I only watch shows on my MacBook, so I can't speak for iPads and iPhones. [link] [comments]  |

For example I'm looking at buying a new still in seal apple tv from ebay or facebook, and the serial numbers when entered say to validate purchase - does this mean I'd need to get the proof of purchase to have the warranty? | Posted: 27 Jul 2020 01:22 PM PDT Almost a year ago I bought a 4th-gen Apple TV (not the 4K model) when suddenly, a couple of days ago I woke up in the morning to play sneaky sasquatch with my daughter and even though I tried a lot of possible solutions, I wasn't able to turn it on. Out of curiosity I touched the apple tv and it was hot, my theory is that the night before there was an electrical storm and maybe that ruined the internal power source. In the end I had to buy a second-hand 4k apple tv which has worked very well so far, however now once in a while I touch the apple tv because I'm afraid it can be fried again. Has something similar happened to someone else with your apple tv? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 27 Jul 2020 11:00 AM PDT First off, I only have a 3.1 soundbar setup, so I'm not sure if audio makes a difference for me. My Plex server runs on a RPI and hosts SMB so I can connect with Infuse as well. I have played 40GB movies, I believe anything over that is actually limited by my network speed on my rpi. Is there any reason for me to move from the Plex player to Infuse? Seems Apple TV is able to play pretty much everything I throw at it in Plex, so I'm not sure if there is any reason to switch - maybe audio conversion from 7.1 would be better for my setup or something?
