Posted: 08 Jul 2020 07:48 AM PDT My last iPhone was 8 and I am 100% sure any app I installed I could turn off the data/cellular being used(Don't have an unlimited data plan where I live). I got the 11 Pro and besides Spotify, any other app that I have installed does not appear in the mobile data settings. Is that normal? [link] [comments]

Is worth it changing from Android to iOS? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 06:30 AM PDT I've been using Android basically since I first had a phone. Before I liked to root my phones to install different ROMS like Lineage, and to experiment in general. But now I don't like to do that anymore. From people that changed operative systems, what things should I consider? It was worth it for you? [link] [comments]
Something I’ve noticed with the way Apple is handing the Music app in the new beta of iOS 14... Posted: 08 Jul 2020 06:18 AM PDT Apple seems to obviously be focusing on their streaming service Apple Music more and more, so they should. But it seems like they care less and less about those of us who still prefer to just import our music from locally sourced locations. In the new beta, the ability to "show Apple Music" is now gone. So Apple Music is always on and there by default. [link] [comments]
Does Apple send you a message if you downloaded a malicious app Posted: 08 Jul 2020 01:43 AM PDT There have been hacks where people got viruses on their iPhones in the past from the App Store, can Apple remotely remove these apps? I know they don't remove apps if they're removed from the App Store generally but if it's a virus or if the developer wants it gone can it be deleted in one of those cases or both? And does Apple send you an email or a notification telling you about the incident? I'm not asking like "I saw a message what do I do" when it's obviously fake I'm just saying what's apples protocol for dealing with these incidents despite their rarity [link] [comments]

Best browser for privacy and as blocking? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 05:20 AM PDT So I want to gain a little bit more privacy and I want to get rid of annoying ads which pop up sometimes and annoy me. There are so many Browser in the AppStore that I don't know which one to chose. Several apps I find interesting are Firefox, DuckDuckGo Browser and SnowHaze. Should I install any of those or shall I stay with Safari because it's more secure? I'm not sure what to do and I appreciate your help. 🙂 [link] [comments]
Why are app updates so massive? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 03:10 PM PDT I keep the apps on my iphone and ipad updated, and have noticed over the years how the updates have gotten larger and larger (specifically talking about file size). I recently got an Android device to play with for some maker/hacking stuff, and I noticed that the same updates for the same apps were more than 10x smaller. An app update on iOS might be >250MB, with the same update on Android being only 25MB. I'm assuming only the changed parts of the app package are being downloaded/updated on Android, whereas on iOS there's obviously something else going on - I'm just curious as to the technical explanation, and even the pros/cons of each approach (off the top of my head I would assume if Apple are making the delivery of an update require a larger part of the package to be downloaded/recompiled/reinstalled that this is for security reasons? Whereas on Android it may be more feasible to try an exploit based on being able to make smaller, more targeted changes to an apps code or something?). I tried some googling but couldn't find anything that adequately explained it, so any info is appreciated. [link] [comments]

Shortcuts should be more powerful Posted: 07 Jul 2020 02:29 PM PDT I recently noticed how convenient Shortcuts really is but with some stuff, which I think is pretty basic and I seriously wonder why it's not implemented, I have my issues but let me first give some details. I recently bought NFC tags which I now use for example on my AirPods to connect to my iPhone after using them on my MacBook. I came to the result that I could obviously connect them, but some parts I wanted to achieve didn't work out as planned.
Do you use Shortcuts and have you had any of my problems and maybe even solved them with some kind of third-party app? Cheers! [link] [comments]
Which words do you find impossible to enter with Apple’s swiping keyboard? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 09:37 PM PDT I deleted Swype when Apple added their own swiping keyboard, but Apple's version seems less receptive. I tried five or six times to swipe-type the word door before giving up and keying the word letter-by-letter. It suggested for, Dior, foot, dot, shot, foot, foot and even doorman in various attempts. What are some words you have to enter one letter at a time? [link] [comments]
