- Using multiple instances of the six app “Siri suggestions” widget, you can have a home screen that is completely machine learning powered. The widget is smart enough to not duplicate apps across other widgets or the apps on home screen itself. Very cool.

- I don’t understand how the iTunes download tab still looks like this in dark mode? I am on iOS14 beta but its been like this for a long time. Such a bad design and I haven’t seen anyone discuss it before. Anyone know why it might look like this besides Apple not taking the time to update it?

I'm trying to separate my work life from my personal life and want to block certain contacts from calling on my personal number (eSIM). I still want them to be able to reach me on my work phone (physical SIM). However, it seems like the "Block Contact" option in Phone > Contacts indiscriminately blocks the contact from both SIMs. Is there a way that I can block them only from one SIM? Do you have any suggestions about how to effectively segregate personal and work phone calls on the same iPhone? I try to be mindful of which number I'm giving out, but need to block certain contacts to enforce this compartmentalisation. Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||

I have an Iphone 7 which i've had since 2017 and I have this issue where I cannot hear ANY sound when on phone calls and the other person cannot hear me AT ALL, It is completely muted and continuously too. It's the same for all calling platforms: Zoom/Whatsapp audio/facebook messenger audio etc. Also, when on a phone call it blanks out the loud speaker option/add call and face time option as shown here: https://imgur.com/a/7KExVWF The sound does work if i play music from spotify/you tube/fb/twitter or anything like that. So that rules out a direct problem with the speaker itself and more towards software? I've updated to the newest software/reset the phone (But not completed a full hard restore as i'm scared i'll lose data from a certain app which i know cannot be retrieved when losing it and someone told me they had the same issue and nothing work so i have not wanted to risk completely restoring it since hearing that, but am willing to do it if you are 100% confident it will work?) Or do i need a new phone? (If it means anything, I also have an issue where if i plug earphones into iphone 7 (tried five different pairs, some of them directly from apple) the music from spotify for example comes through the speaker and not through the earphones themselves). I've had this bug for months now, where every-time I'm on a Facetime Audio call, it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from wifi. My service at my house is shit, so it basically fucks up the entire call for me. The only partial solution I have found is turning on airplane mode which keeps it connected for a little bit, but then tells me the call failed. I've fucking had it with this bug and it is the number one bug that pisses me off the most. Has anyone else gotten this? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Ios14 public beta, sleep schedule/alarm question. Posted: 18 Jul 2020 03:54 AM PDT I have the most recent public beta of iOS 14 on my iPhone 11, and I'm trying to better understand the sleep schedule/new "wake up" alarm. I understand how to set a schedule and even how to get it (for the most part) to go Into downtime and run the specified shortcuts that I set up in the shortcuts app. What I don't understand is when, for example today, I am getting up early for work since I have an irregular work schedule (I only work every 3rd day) if I go to skip the wake up alarm (scheduled wake up time) when I am awake before it goes off, it still stays in downtime mode as far as I can tell and I have to tap "dismiss" on the Lock Screen before I can unlock and start using my phone. Am I missing a step or is that how it is supposed to function, where it stays in downtime mode despite what time you have the alarm set to for the current day, even if you've skipped the alarm that day? | Got a job as Mobile helpdesk and have never used an iPhone... help? Posted: 17 Jul 2020 07:27 PM PDT Ok so this is not QUITE as dire as it sounds... I have been applying for IT/Networking jobs which expanded into anything remotely connected. I just accepted a job with a Help Desk place that also sells phone protection plans. I have a ton of sales experience and recently finished my A+ cert so I am at least moderately tech savvy, but I am woefully unfamiliar with iOS (honestly im only average with android). I need a good online FREE crash course in mobile technical support, specifically iOS. To be clear... I was totally honest with the hiring manager about my shortcomings on the tech side, but was hired based on everything else in my experience and the fact that I can transfer into an IT internship after 6 months of help desk. Now I just have to get through 6 (let's be real, 12-18 months) of help desk before I am actually out of there. Thanks in advance for any help.
