When will we get ECG in Australia? Posted: 18 Jul 2020 12:33 AM PDT Because Apple did not get approval for the ECG functions in Australia, we can't use it. Does anyone know if this is likely to be fixed in the near (or even not near) future? [link] [comments]

Apple Watch Bluetooth audio > iPhone audio. Why? Posted: 18 Jul 2020 05:19 AM PDT I've noticed that audio sent to Bluetooth headphones from my Apple Watch S4 sounds much better than the same files played through my iPhone XS or MacBook Pro. The difference is in the soundstage. The soundstage is much wider on the Apple Watch, when listening on both my Airpods Pro and a set of over-ear headphones. Audio from the iPhone or Mac sounds narrow and front-facing by comparison, without any room to breathe. I'm wondering if others have also noticed this, if anyone knows why it happens, and whether the iPhone and Mac can be configured to export audio in the same way as the Apple Watch. If you haven't noticed, try adding an audio file to your iPhone and Apple Watch, normalise the volume between the two devices, and switch the same pair of headphones between the two sources (this is easiest with Airpods as the switching process is automatic). The difference is large and noticeable, at least on my hardware! [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Jul 2020 07:02 AM PDT Have a series 4 connected to the old iphone se. I must say the internet connection on the watch is not ideal, quite slow at times at loading stuff actually. When I turn buetooth off and wifi on, things definitely stream faster but of course, I lose connection with the phone. Any workaround to this? [link] [comments]

Is the AW S5 living up to it's hype ? Posted: 18 Jul 2020 05:35 AM PDT I currently own an AW S2 and been eyeing the S5 since last year. At first, the always on display seemed to hit the battery pretty hard but updates seemed to make it more efficient with time. I stopped following the progress around last December so I don't know how it's doing now. My use case is I wear my S2 watch 23out of 24 hours. I usually recharge it in the evening while I take a shower and then put it back on for sleep tracking and all through the next day until I recharge it again. Would this type of usage be possible with an S5 ? Always on during the day and display off during the night. I know S6 is coming up but I might rather go for a slightly discounted S5 than a full price S6 (I'm that kind of cheap SOB) unless the S6 is out of this world more efficient and can do things we're only dreaming about at this time... Turn off gps for some activities Posted: 18 Jul 2020 04:34 AM PDT Hi Is it possible to turn off gps for some activities? Like i dont really need gps tracking if I start the outdoor bicycle activity but I want it if I start a walk. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Jul 2020 12:24 AM PDT I'm a Harley tech and I work on cars on the side and just got a series 5, I'm looking for the perfect case/screen protector for me. I'm constantly putting my hands and arms down engine bays and the watch will constantly be close to metal parts. So I have a pretty big concern about it getting scratched or shattering [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Jul 2020 03:25 AM PDT I track my workouts every day, and have been for the past 6 months, sometimes with Strava and other times with Apple's Workout app. I walk every day and I track my walking exercises. For majority of the time I used to use Strava because I often cycle and for cycling workouts I use Strava exclusively, because of segments, sharing and so on. I recently noticed that Strava and Workouts display very different calories burned and for my testing I used an outdoor walk workout. I would walk 5km(3 miles). Both workouts were done walking on a flat surface, not going to the hills or anything of that sort. Strava showed that I burned 400cal, with an average pace of 12'45"/km. Apple's workouts app showed that I burned 272cal with an average pace of 10'40"/km, MEANING I walked faster but still burned less calories. I want to know if anyone here has any knowledge in terms if Strava is inaccurate with calories burned or is it the Workouts app. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Jul 2020 03:02 AM PDT Anyone having issues with offline listening on the Apple Watch? When I'm on a run, I sometimes leave my phone home. The main issue I have, is pandora just stopping. A song will finish, and the new song won't play. I'll have to go into the app, pick the station, and hit play a few times. Then it'll play. But it typically stops again at some point. Another issue is when my phone is nearby. I'll click to play from watch, but it keeps trying to connect to my phone. I'll do this when I'm cutting grass or something, and I know that I will eventually lose connection with my phone. The first issue is the most annoying and what I'm post looking for a solution for. I tried out Apple Music for a little because it was getting so bad, but I love the radio aspect of pandora. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
