I had this issue for 2 months now. First it started by my messages not going through "not delivered" I would have to press try again to send it and it went through after a few failed attempts. Next was that my calls couldn't connect and the person I was calling simply never got a call from me. (I can still receive most messages its just a 2/10 chances id say where I wouldn't get it and I would only receive it after I restarted my phone.)

Then theres a small chance the call connects but after a few seconds the call quality goes so bad and it sounds underwater, muffled or glitchy and basically can't make anything out of the other person is saying.

I already tried 1) Trying different sim, the phone is unlocked, 2) Factory resetting / network reset 3) iTunes repair 4) new ios update didn't help. 5) checking for water damage. 6) Wifi still works and so does 4G 7) never dropped the phone or damaged it. 8) literally everything on the phone works but the calls and sending messages.

After all this I decided to go to a 3rd party repair shop as the warranty is expired and all the apple stores are closed anyway due to COVID and they said they couldn't fix it as they never seen anything like that. They tested the speakers, microphone and everything else worked just fine. They said it could be something with the board which they don't feel confident touching. They recommended just buying a new phone...

Was wondering if anyone else had these issues with their signal, calls and messages.

Which one to select, at the these prices: used iPhone X (600$), used iPhone XR (630$) or new iPhone SE (800$)?

I have a dear friend whose been nursing a borrowed iphone 5c since her own iphone 6s kicked the bucket a few months ago. I can see she is having a hard time making content for her social channels (she is a fire breather and wants to become an influencer in her spare time) and to get stuff done. As she is still in college, it is not possible for her to outright replace the iphone 5c, at least for another six months or more.
She recently approached me to see if I could lend her some money to get her a used iPhone 8 plus, which would cost us around 450$ in my country.

What she doesn't know is that I have been saving up money for her to be able to get a newer model than that, because she is a good kid and very charitable towards those less fortunate (i've seen her give away her food even if she's hungry to someone on a street corner).

Having said that, i am perplexed between the iphone x and xr? Which would be a better value purchase, if they cost within 30-40$ of each other? Is there a visible difference in camera quality? In South East Asia, the newest iphones carry a premium way above their actual prices due to restricted imports, which is why the SE 2020 is around 800$ at least. The XS and 11 are available at global prices, but its beyond what I want to spend (900$+)

I am hoping with your input I can make a choice she'll be happy with.

TL;DR: Which would be a better value purchase, iPhone X or XR if they cost within 30-40$ of each other?
