| Question about downsizing iPhone XR Posted: 03 Jun 2020 08:50 PM PDT Thinking about downsizing...A few questions and advice needed! I want to downgrade my iphone 10R to a smaller model. This phone is in very good condition. I used to have the original iphone SE. Could get it for about 150. The new SE seems to be around 400. I'm essentially wondering how much value I could get out of my current phone if I were to trade it in. It's in very good condition like I said. Would they give me a straight swap for the new SE? Would I have to pay 100 bucks or so? More than that? Like I also mentioned, the SE original is about 150 online. Would it be a mistake (from a financial standpoint) to try and sell my current phone and buy the original SE? I'm trying to get as much value out of this as I can. This post might be a bit jumbled but if someone could decipher and potentially give me some advice that would be much appreciated. *Yes the most obvious thing would be to go to the apple or t-mobile store but they're closed and I can't get ahold of them via the phone [link] [comments]  |

| Iphone SE losing WIFI connection whenever i play online games Posted: 03 Jun 2020 02:17 PM PDT whenever i open an online game (tested it with several games and apps)my WIFI will disconnect for moment(from several seconds to an entire 1 minute) and reconnect automatically, it keeps happening until i close the game , i tried everything from reseting my router completely to resetting my Iphone network settings and tried renewing the lease to my Wifi and got nothing, is this problem caused by the hardware? It froze when I was looking for someone in contacts and would freeze when I tried to delete contacts. I just bought my new IPhone SE about 2 weeks ago and had the same issue. So I turned off iCloud contacts to try and save the numbers I really need, and it's doing similar. When I try to add a contact, it simply freezes. It's absolutely frustrating and I don't know what to do. I also turned off outlook and gmail contacts because I have so many duplicated numbers. Clicked through and it's just stuck on this screen. 1) Anyone know what this is? In the past, my Apple Care just automatically switched over to the new device, so I can't imagine that that's what this is. 2) Anyone know how to get it to "finish" (doing whatever it is it's doing)? But when I click continue after the terms and services agreement, my iPhone 11 Pro no longer says its connected to the computer and the device disappears from the MacBook location menu.. what can I do? | Posted: 03 Jun 2020 03:08 PM PDT I replaced my iPhone 7's battery a few weeks ago and when it came back on the vibrations were a lot more intense than they were before. Then the next day the vibrations were gone completely. So I ordered a replacement Taptic Engine part and replaced that, and it still isn't working. Anyone have any ideas? Additional info: When I first finished the battery replacement I realized the ribbon cable that connects the charger port and microphone were unplugged. I plugged them back in and the phone was boot looping. I then realized that when that ribbon cable was unplugged I could boot the phone all the way up, but obviously the phone wouldn't charge and I'd have no microphone. I then found a happy medium where I'd plug the ribbon cable in, but only gently and then I'd have a working phone, until the Taptic Engine went out the next day. Is the microphone/charger port that connects to the main board in any way related to the Taptic Engine? I'm wondering if there's some damage to the ribbon cable connection that is causing all the problems...? I'm tempted to open my phone back up to mess with that one ribbon cable that was causing the boot loop issues to see if I get anything at all out of the Taptic Engine. Thanks for the help. | My iPhone XS started having WiFi problems last month Posted: 03 Jun 2020 01:35 PM PDT So I know the XS had WiFi and LTE problems at launch but I never had any problems until now. Starting last month the WiFi just goes dead on my phone and I have to turn it off and turn it back on via control center. It happens on every app every couple minutes. Is there a way to fix this? | Iphone SE screen is black but working Posted: 03 Jun 2020 11:57 AM PDT For the past 2 weeks or so, my SE screen was having some problems: sometimes, when i pressed the power button, the screen would turn on, but it didnt show anything; i could see that the screen was on, but it was all black. I would just press the button many times until the screen was normal (it eventually would not be black anymore). Then i noticed that this "solution" wasnt quite working anymore and also noticed that if i kind of put some pressure onto the screen it would eventually work. Now it reached a point that its always black even if i apply that pressure onto the screen. The phone IS on, and everytime i receive a notification/call/message i can hear it and i can see that the screen turns on, but is black. Restarting the phone does not work. Im sure its a hardware issue. So my question is, could it be just the connectors of the LCD that just came out of place? is it worth it to open the phone and try to disconnect and reconnect the LCD? | Posted: 03 Jun 2020 09:56 AM PDT Recently my iPhone 8 has been experiencing some pretty odd issues. It started around 2 weeks ago when I shut my phone off because it was crashing and it got stuck in a bootloop. I fixed it a few days after and all was well until just now. Just around an hour and a half ago I open my phone and then try to scroll on Instagram but it was really slow and clunky almost unusable. Semi unresponsive. Like I could type on a keyboard but i could hardly scroll down on Instagram and when I went to power off I could press cancel but not slide to power off. So I forced the power off and this is where the weirdest thing happened. My phone texted by itself to a spam message. I'm 100% sure about this because I noticed like 20 minutes after and I'd obviously be able to clearly remember sending a text to a robot. The text said "Talk later?" To a spam number. Does any one know how to move the assistive touch button without actually clicking it? I was able to fix this before by tapping wildly on other parts of the screen but that hasn't worked this time.
