Why do a lot of people like space gray? Posted: 11 Jun 2020 12:40 PM PDT I first have a silver MacBook Pro, then I just went with silver for every other Apple products. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jun 2020 01:00 PM PDT Hello everyone, I was using macbook air for the past 7 years and it suited for my needs perfectly (which are mainly pretty extensive word processing, reading textbooks/scientific articles, watching YouTube/films, web surfing). Recently I bought a new macbook pro, but it strongly feels like an overkill for me because I will not be using its full potential and I'm also kinda worried that macs will switch to arm in the next 2-3 years meaning my new mac will likely loose its full support earlier than I would like it to (and earlier than my current one) That brings me to the question if I should return my macbook pro while I still can and buy an ipad pro instead as it likely can cover 90% of my workflow while also keeping my old air for writing study papers and work-related documents (still need a desktop-class experience for this one). I would really appreciate any kind of advice on this matter, especially from people who are using their iPads as a primary device (as a life-long user of "conventional" computers I'm a bit worried if ipad can conveniently replace it for my tasks). Sorry for the longread!) [link] [comments]

Does anyone know a good diary keeping app for the iPad? Posted: 11 Jun 2020 07:18 AM PDT I've been looking for a simple app for keeping a diary that works with the Apple pencil and has a password protection feature but it seems that I am asking for too much. I really only need it to write stuff down and be secure since I am not the only one using the iPad. I found some apps that do that but they don't support note taking with the pencil, which is important because I tend to write while on the couch or in bed (so no room for a keyboard setup). Plus handwriting is more therapeutic. If anyone knows an app like that please let me know. I wouldn't mind if it's the one-time-purchasr type. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jun 2020 01:53 PM PDT I want a good protection even if I use the iPad without the keyboard in my hands. Is there any good solution on the market? [link] [comments]
How is desktop browsing on the iPad? Posted: 11 Jun 2020 01:48 PM PDT I was thinking about getting a 10.2 iPad and was just wondering how good the desktop browsing is. Is it the same or close to something like safari on the mac? [link] [comments]
iPad magic keyboard capitalization issues Posted: 11 Jun 2020 12:34 PM PDT So every time i type a post out, it never auto corrects and capitalizes my "i" for me? Is that a normal thing? I understand just hitting shift solves this, just was curious. [link] [comments]
Wallmount for iPad Pro 11 inch Posted: 11 Jun 2020 01:35 AM PDT Hello there, I just purchased an iPad Pro and since I do a lot of baking/ coking I was wondering if there is a solid option on the market. The most important feature for me would be that its magnetic. I did a quick internet search and couldn't find good options yet. Thought I'd ask in a dedicated sub if someone has an idea. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jun 2020 07:26 AM PDT Hi! I've got 53 Pencil. I know that 53 discontinued the pen but are there any app that works with it in 2020? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Logitech Combo touch UK Lay-out pictures? Posted: 11 Jun 2020 10:27 AM PDT I'm trying to decide if I'll pick up a combo touch for the iPad 10.5 pro. However I can only find pictures of the US layout online. I'd like to have the US layout ideally , but since I'm in the EU, I can only order the UK layout from Logitech's website. I was wondering if anyone has the UK layout of the combo touch, and if they could post some pictures of it so that I can decide if the layout still fits to my needs. Thanks! [link] [comments]
iPad Magic Keyboard/Sidecar question Posted: 11 Jun 2020 08:18 AM PDT I use the sidecar function with my magic keyboard to edit text in Microsoft Word documents which are on my macbook. I run into problems, however, when I use certain shortcuts on the magic keyboard, which appear to be dually mapped when in sidecar. For example, pressing command + B on a normal keyboard toggles the bolding of text in Microsoft Word. But when doing it on my ipad magic keyboard while in sidecar, it causes the sidecar connection to fail. Is there any way to remap so this does not occur? [link] [comments]
Refurbished ipad pro - new screen? Posted: 11 Jun 2020 02:10 AM PDT Hello everyone! The Apple site for my country has a good deal for a refurbished 2018 12.9 ipad pro (wifi +lte, 256gb). I know that apple replaces the battery and outer shell of refurbished products. But does this include the screen as well? It's obvious the screen is the most important part of an ipad, that's why I would like to avoid buying an ipad with a scratched screen. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Fully Offline Cloud Storage Services Posted: 10 Jun 2020 11:19 PM PDT Are there any cloud storage services where you can have all of your files automatically get saved for offline use on the iPad? Essentially, I want it to function like how cloud storage would on any computer where the files are stored locally and online so that they can easily be synced to another computer. Is it safe to keep the new magic keyboard for the iPad Pro plugged in? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 08:12 PM PDT I've found myself when not using the keyboard keeping it plugged in and using it like a wireless charging pad. I'll be around the house using the iPad for casual internet browsing/reading. When it needs a charge I go to the office and place it in the keyboard to charge. I always get paranoid leaving things plugged in think it'll kill battery health or damage the product. If anyone out there could calm my paranoia and tell me it's fine it would be much appreciated. Or if what I'm doing isn't the best please let me know do I can stop. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
For those using iPad Pro 2018/2020, how often does your tabs in Safari/Apps get refreshed? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 11:05 PM PDT For those who are using the iPad Pro 2018/2020 model, how often does the tabs in Safari or Apps get refreshed? I'm still considering between getting the 2018 256GB model or the 2020 128GB model and I don't know if the extra 2 GB RAM is worth the extra cost. I am currently using an iPhone XS Max which I believe have 4 GB of RAM and I have my tabs/app refreshed often enough for me to realise it. [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 11" 1st gen battery question Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:48 PM PDT Just bought a 1st gen ipad pro 11" from the apple refurbished store. Only had it for 6 days or so, but it seems like the battery life is really poor compared to my 2018 ipad (base model). Today, i noticed that it was down to 37% battery and it was only reporting 1 hr 32 minutes of screen on time. My kid was playing the Prodigy game app during that time and then played some apple music songs for a bit when she was done. I'm used to being able to sit on a plane and watch multiple movies/shows over the course of a day's worth of travel without putting a major dent in my battery life on the base model ipad. Does this seem normal? I'm charging both to full tonight and then I'm going to see how they do for battery life running the same amount of time tomorrow. 60%+ battery drain in less than 2 hours seems pretty nuts to me. I don't have an apple pencil for it, yet, so its not draining because of that issue. Only accessory on it at this point is an apple smart folio cover. [link] [comments]
