Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:57 PM PDT Pretty cool fact that no one really know about surprisingly. Thought Apple, being such a large company, would have considered these kind of things when unlocking your phone so I did this 5 years back on my old iPhone 4S and locked myself out and had to restore my phone wiping all my data... [Question/Help] APP LIKE PHOTOSHOP TO CREATE LAYERS OF VARYING OPACITY ON A WALLPAPER IMAGE Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:10 AM PDT I would like to build a quick composite of a couple of layers for my wallpaper image. Any suggestions for an app I can use to reduce the opacity of the top layer? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:33 AM PDT I wanted to know if significant locations drain a lot of battery or if it's negligible. I had to turn it on for optimizes battery charging since it's required for it to work. So, does it really drain a ton of battery? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:46 AM PDT Is the voicemail full notification controlled by iOS or the cellular provider. I had a couple of people tell me that they called me but couldn't leave a voicemail on my phone because it said it was full. I know that years ago, I would get a pop that said something like "Your voicemail box is 90% full." Is this carrier dependent? I only use iPhones. I had about 20 voicemail messages of varying lengths but never received any visual notification that it was full. [link] [comments]

Is there any free and reliable alternative app for AllCast? Posted: 08 Jun 2020 10:05 AM PDT Since iOS 13 the AllCast app doesn't work anymore. When you choose the target device to cast to, it crashes to the Home Screen. I sent a couple emails and tweets to the dev, but got no response. Does anyone know of any other that lets you cast your photos and videos to the TV? What was amazing of AllCast is that it worked in so many TV brands and even on Google Chrome. [link] [comments]

Poll: Siri vs Google Assistant Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:49 PM PDT Would you rather have Google Assistant while keeping Apple's privacy and data protection, or are you loyal to Siri? I feel Google Assistant understands words better, is more helpful and doesn't feel like I'm talking to a robot but more of a person instead. I actually have been using GA thru Siri. Just updated to iOS 13.5.1 from iOS 10.3.1 Posted: 08 Jun 2020 09:19 AM PDT I almost never allow my phone to update the OS. I've been using iPhones since my first 3G in 2009. I'm not a model upgrader, I prefer to use the phone to death when possible. I kept my 3G until the 4S, kept the 4S until my SE, which I'm still using. Historically, every time I've updated the OS, I've had a worse experience than before. However, due to apps no longer supporting old OSes, I'm often pushed to need to update towards the end of the life of my phone. My SE is giving out on me, and with the new SE released, I'm thinking about updating. Some of my apps have long since stopped updating and so I figured it was time to update the OS so that I'd be used to it when I upgrade devices, and in the short term hopefully solve some of my app problems. Today was my first "full" day with 13.5.1, as I updated yesterday evening. The OS itself is fine, and isn't actually a huge change considering how long it's been since I updated. The OS update did not fix any of my problems with apps (though they did update to the newest versions, those updates themselves didn't fix any of the bugs I was previously encountering) and actually introduced new bugs with some apps that were stable for me before, rendering at least one no longer functional at all. So that's fun. The best part? Well it's noon, and my battery just died. My use was as normal, maybe even lighter than normal. Prior to upgrading I would get to the evening before needing to do a little top-up for the rest of the day, and then fully charge overnight, so I'd get between 8 and 10 hours of use on that charge. Today I got about 4 hours of use on a full charge. Looking forward to getting my new SE and the new battery to replace the planned obsolescence/software-enabled obsolescence, but I'll probably be using whatever OS is out when I upgrade to that device for many many years for my fourth iPhone lifecycle.
