- Need help cleaning Macbook Pro 2015 screen!
- I am trying to turn on Game Center, but it does not allow me to turn it on. The slider is shaded, making it impossible to switch it. I tried searching up how to fix this, but everything that showed up pertained to how to activate Game Center for certain apps. I am on an IPhone 6s fully updated.

However if I plug in my external i see the background and mouse just fine. The issue is it's not in mirror mode, so I can't use the computer. At least 16GB Memory. I'd go to 32GB no prob. I'll be editing music and running a lot of virtual instruments. But that's all I'm using it for really Just music-related stuff. | Catalina login screen background issues...Not updating/changing with desktop background Posted: 07 Jun 2020 10:42 PM PDT When I change my desktop background, it doesn't change the background of the login screen (the one you see after a restart or a logout, not the lock screen.) This only happens on one of my 3 macs and it is driving me nuts. I have a mac mini, and old air, and a new macbook pro 16 inch. This only happens on the mini. All three are running a clean install of Catalina. I've a seen a few "guides" on how to "fix" this, which I am hesitant to try as they seem a little invasive. Generally, though, it doesn't make sense to me why this only impacts one of my macs. On the two laptops, if I change the desktop background like normal and restart, said background show on the login screen. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

I use various alarms for various things, everyday, and I want to hear a variety of the ringtones I have without having to manually change them all one at a time. I have already done my fair share of internet research, but as a last ditch effort, does anyone know if it is at all possible to randomize my ringtones (or created a list that will shuffle and play a random tone for a certain alarm or phone call) ? Posted: 07 Jun 2020 10:33 PM PDT Alright so before I begin, I'm completely new to Mac and I've used a PC for as long as I can remember so I apologize if I seem really dumb. Alright so basically I can't tell if things are saving locally or to iCloud (btw my iCloud storage is full I only have 5 gb). When I go into the finder, there's Desktop and Documents, I see they're both under iCloud, along with iCloud Drive. Why does it say this? I know I might sound dumb right now but I just wanna make sure everything's okay because I already have some After Effects and Photoshop files I started working on and I want them stored locally. Where should I store and organize all my files? Should I just start placing them in Documents and Desktop even though they're under iCloud? [link] [comments]  |

I checked in my phone settings that my account was actually being operated in 3 devices (my iPhone and two Macbooks). I don't own a MacBook, so there is no way that it's my account niether have I given out my account to anyone . I am just worried, and would be really helpful if you guys could guide me! | Accidentally deleted partition, need help getting all those lost files back. Posted: 07 Jun 2020 10:21 PM PDT I have a 1 TB external hard drive formatted to OS X, originally partitioned into 700/300. I then wanted to resize those partitions to be 500/500. So I went into disk utility and resized the 700 partition to be 500, and applied. This actually made a third partition. With the 700 correctly being now 500, but the 300 staying the same and a third partition being created that was 200. So now I wanted to merge the 300 and the new 200 partition into one. I attempted this by selecting the 300 partition and deleting it, thinking it would merge into the 200. This deleted the 300 partition and all the files on it. I need advice on how to undo this / get all those files back from that lost 300 partition. EDIT: Also see today is my cakeday. Such a bad day to have a cakeday. [link] [comments]  |

| Problem with Boot camp installing Windows Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:46 PM PDT I installed the windows system and went through the steps on the boot camp assistant and everything seemed fine. When I restarted my computer and held down option to see the disk images, only the macOS would appear and it doesn't appear in the startup disk menu and in disk utility. The 50 gb I had allocated to the windows partition isn't in the Mac disk, which has 200 go total instead of 256. I'm using a 2017 MacBook Air [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone X Display Module Replacement Question Posted: 07 Jun 2020 09:27 PM PDT My iPhone X at times does not respond to touch when I wake it up. Almost all the time the fix is to simply put the phone to sleep and wake it back up. However, it gets annoying because sometimes I'd get calls but I'm unable to answer because the screen's unresponsive. I was reading on Apple's Display Module replacement program. The issue is that my screen was replaced once already via a third party, so I don't qualify. If I replace the screen, does it replace this "module" as well? TIA! [link] [comments]  |

It did not work, it wouldn't let me reconnect to the game (probably cause I was in 2025). I tried to delete it and even sign in with a new account but the timer still said I had to wait 3,000+ hours. Can I delete the apps data to hopefully reset it back to normal as if I were a new player? I've learned my lesson have mercy [link] [comments]  |

| Can't export any iMovie projects Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:54 PM PDT So what will happen is I finish the movie, then go to save it as a file. I rename it, and save it in a random location (usually desktop). I put it there, and I immediately get the "Exported successfully" notification. However, I go to look and there's no trace of it. My school IT says it could be my storage space (I've got 965.64 MB of 5 GB free). Could that be the case? If so, how much space do I need to export successfully? | Issue with Macbook Pro 2019 16" and Thunderbolt Docking Station Posted: 07 Jun 2020 08:33 PM PDT Started having an issue today where my home docking setup began failing to work. This setup has been the same since I bought my MBP 16" in January of this year outside of repairs by AppleCare. Setup:
Up to this point, I have been able to successfully dock my macbook pro to the docking station, connect to my second monitor via the usb type c and go about my day. The keyboard, mouse, and external hard drive work perfectly and I've occasionally connected additional USB devices such as headphones and 3.5mm speakers for temporary use without any noticeable changes in experience. A few days ago, I decided to upgrade to 15.5 because of the relentless noise macOS was making for me to do so and now I have an issue that doesn't make any sense. Now this could entirely be coincidental as the night before I was also playing some mid-range / light gaming (Game Tycoon and Total Was Shogun 2) for a few hours. Now, if I use the docking station, the monitor turns on for a few seconds (4-5) before blacking out. My MBP still acts as if the screen is usable as all my windows are left on the blacked out screen (unreachable) and the screen power light stays blue as if it's on and working but the screen is fully black with the exception of the backlight. Just in case the docking station had a short or was experiencing some hiccup, I unplugged it's power, rebooted and tested again...still the same result..in fact I did this multiple times without any change. Eventually the macbook's fans spun up and resulted in a crash with a cpu panic... My next step was to test this with a windows 10 laptop to make sure it wasn't a hardware failure. Worked perfect.... At this point I called Apple Care only for them to attempt to push the blame on the docking station because it's not a Belkin or because the tech spec sheet has an asterisks next to macOS compatibility. I explained to them that this shouldn't matter as it has been working for 6 months just fine and the limitations (explained by dell here) only pertains to NON thunderbolt Apple devices...the use case for me is well within the compatible limits of the device. They accepted bringing it in for hardware inspection but I fear that they are going to try to blame the docking station...I will also note that two months into owning my Macbook it had to get a replacement logic board because of constant cpu panic crashes. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I've also saved the crash report if that helps Steps I've taken to make sure it wasn't me in addition to previously stated tests:

I put them in this morning and I got almost no sound whatsoever from my right one. But when I took the left one out and played audio, I had to crank it up to almost max just to hear the right one. Then I fiddled with it and it seems that only the VERY REAR speaker is working on it (the tiny speaker on the outside of it). I checked all my settings and nothing is unbalanced. I even called Apple Support and they couldn't do anything but ask me to mail them in. And yes, my AirPods are clean. I cleaned them last week and then this morning again after I first discovered the problem. With all of the stores closed now, I don't know what to do! This couldn't have come at a worse time. | Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:59 PM PDT Hey guys. Just as it says in the title, my laptop keeps dying as I turn it on and is trying to boot up. It's gets about halfway through before it shuts off. Some online troubleshooting help said running First Aid on the Macintosh HD disk should help resolve the issue. Every time I attempt this, I get a failure notice. "First Aid process has failed. If possible, back up the data on this volume." Not sure what the next step is. I'm not even sure what any of this even means. If I hit Erase in Disk Utility, does that literally mean I am wiping everything off my computer? What will hitting Restore do? Should I Restore from Time Machine Backup? Can someone confirm this or say something about this laptop? I would be really grateful. I will only give it a student usage, so if we consider this, it's a good laptop for that? Also, I want to buy it with the discount that Apple gives to students. The Apple Official Website hasn't asked me for an email or something to prove I'm a student. I read in a YouTube comment that, later they send you like a verification email, so if you don't prove that you're an student, they discount you the amount. Is this true?
