| Something's off about my touchpad Posted: 12 May 2020 05:13 PM PDT My computer kind of broke and I had to reset everything so I wiped it clean and ever since my touchpad has been off. My cursor will randomly unselect whatever application I'm on at random times. I'll be playing a game and the cursor will act like I just clicked on my background, so I have to click again to get my cursor back in the game. I thought this was app nap, but I disabled app nap and it still occurs. Can anyone help me or am I too bad at explaining things? EDIT: Also I can no longer zoom in with my touchpad. | Cursor & Video playback lag on MacBook Pro 13" (2019) Posted: 12 May 2020 06:04 PM PDT Not sure if it is noticeable in the recording, but I have a brief second of lag/freezing when I move my cursor around and also during video playback on Netflix, etc. This just started today and although it isn't a very long pause, it has become quite frustrating. Software is up to date, my cursor settings are default (other than shake to find cursor being disabled), there doesn't seem to be anything taking up much CPU or memory, and I have tried resetting NVRAM and SMC already. (for SoX, FFmpeg, Ecasound, pyaudio etc.) Posted: 12 May 2020 02:20 PM PDT When I try to record audio from the command line with programs such as SoX or FFmpeg it doesn't record anything and ends up with a flat-line recording. I am guessing this is due to privacy restrictions from macOS Mojave/Catalina. This is similar to the issue Audacity is having, in which the fix is opening it from the terminal to trigger a request for microphone permissions (which doesn't actually work for me for some reason). I would imagine that allowing microphone access to the Terminal through System Preferences would solve this. But I don't know how to do this since it doesn't request permissions or show up on the list. Is there a way to grant unrequested permissions to an app or trigger it to request permissions? Thanks. The dynamic backgrounds change their brightness based on dark/light mode, but if you choose your own image then you're stuck with the brightness of your image choice. Even tools explicitly designed to do it (e.g., Grab app or shift-command-5 with "Show Mouse Pointer" selected) don't seem to be capturing the cursor on my MacBook Pro (late 2016).
