| About a month into moving from Android and I hate it. Is there hope? Posted: 26 May 2020 12:55 AM PDT I've been using Android since day one. I finally decided to make the switch after breaking my Galaxy S10 and receiving an iPhone 7 for free from a friend. I'm aware that I took a massive step back as far as hardware goes, but I still feel like the baseline experience is lackluster and I'm really frustrated. I have a suspicion that hardware isn't the source of my issues and it's more of an iOS problem. Hopefully you can fill me in. My first complaint is the notifications. I miss shit all the time. It seems like if I don't see a text as it comes in I lose it to the ether. Android has persistent icons in the top bar to indicate notifications. As far as I can tell the only equivalent in iOS is the badges on icons. Am I missing something important? The second and definitely most annoying is the keyboard. I can't type worth a damn on this thing. It autocorrects words for seemingly no reason. I've tried using gboard to help the transition but it seems to be suffering from the same issue. Is there an OS level problem here? Am I just used to nicer screens? Almost everyone else in my life is on iPhone so I would like to try to make it work. I'm not opposed to shelling out for a new phone if it will solve my issues. I just saw the free phone as a great chance to try it out. Did I miss the boat? Should I just go back to where I belong? | Posted: 25 May 2020 06:26 PM PDT So I've had my iPhone for a couple of years now but I'm not sure how long I've had this issue. Basically about 40GB out of 64GB are being taken up by this 'other' section and whatever I do just doesn't seem to get rid of it. I read somewhere that it's a bug and I might have to reset the phone but I don't have anywhere to store photos so they'll be deleted if I do that. Does anyone know why this much storage is being taken up by 'other' and what I can do to get rid of it? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| iPad Air 2 - Error 2015 when attempting restore Posted: 25 May 2020 03:47 PM PDT My dad gave me a WiFi/LTE iPad Air 2 that won't turn on at all, I left it charging for hours and the white battery outline that the usually indicates charging on powered-off iOS devices never appeared. I connected it to my MacBook Pro and every time I tried to update or restore it it gave me "unknown error 2015". The screen is in perfect condition and their is no indication of any damage. He got it bundled when he got an iPhone 8+ a few years ago but has hardly used it and the last couple of years it has sat in a drawer. | Posted: 25 May 2020 03:30 PM PDT Hi Reddit, so I was recently cleaning my room and I found my old iPhone 5 that is on a different apple id from my current 11 Pro, and I was wondering if I could find a way to get those photos and get past the iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes, I have already tried plugging it into my mac and updating it but it didn't work. I called apple support but the only option the guy could give me was to reset the entire phone to factory settings which I don't want. Does anyone have any suggestions? | Iphone 11 stuck in bootloop/black screen/charger issue Posted: 25 May 2020 11:01 AM PDT Need help to fix this shitty phone. Unplugged it is a solid black screen. Right now I think it is holding 0 charge. When plugged in it enters a bootloop. I can hard reset which leads to the restore screen. Only issue is if I unplug it, it just dies. So I can't plug into my pc to restore it. Any ideas? ITunes also doesn't recognize it as it isn't powered on when plugged in. | iPhone 8+ Touchscreen Unresponsive Posted: 25 May 2020 02:27 PM PDT Either touch doesn't work, or a different part of the screen will react to the touch. The problem is worse when not plugged in or if the charge is below 90%. Not sure why that makes a difference...the problem has gotten progressively worse since January. Sometimes quickly shutting off the screen and opening it back up will let me finish a text or scroll around but even that isn't working anymore. Is there any fix for this? Or is it junk? Thanks! Often I will have to close the app and reopen it to fix the issue. Should I try resetting the phone before attempting out of warranty hardware fix, or screen replacement? | Free space on iPhone SE (2016) Posted: 25 May 2020 01:13 PM PDT I have the 64GB iPhone SE and I'm constantly dealing for low space messages as I'm hovering around the 300-500mb mark. About 18-20GB is in pictures and video. I finally removed audible saved books and that cleared up 2.5GB. It was great because now I don't have to worry about apps freezing or not updated etc. I have an iPad that I started to use during the last few weeks. I had the settings where each app I downloaded went to my iPhone. I downloaded a ton of apps and then realized and turned that off. I then went to my iPhone and deleted all those apps. My space on my iPhone is back to 400-500mb free. Where did the extra 2.5GB go? It's like something soaked it up? Any insight? I've considered off loading the pics and videos but not finding the iCloud interface to be easy to browse through on the phone. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 25 May 2020 09:50 AM PDT So I've had many iPhones now, and my current (iPhone XR) and my last (iPhone 6s) both dont connect to my WiFi at home. However, they connect everywhere else without a problem. Including hotel WiFi, McDonalds etc.. I've tried a network reset and resetting the iPhone. The only thing i haven't tried yet is a factory reset of which I'm not really keen on doing. Any advice would be brilliant as I'm smashing through 70gb of data a month. Edit: The WiFi connects, then times out after say 5/10 minutes. The WiFi symbol is still there however it just doesn't connect. [link] [comments]  |

I have an mp3 collection, meticulously sorted into a folder tree on my PC. I want to import this into iPhone XR, and use some sort of app to play folders. I do not use or care about playlists. I do not want to use or care about playlists but if there is some way I can batch-create playlists to mirror the folder structure I guess I will but I will be very unhappy to have to do that. My metadata is incomplete and uneven. Some of my collection consists of a bunch of things I have that aren't even identifiable and date back to the IUMA days. Many were one-offs which were never part of an album. Ideally, what I just want my folder tree in my iPhone, and then I say, "Play this folder," or an equivalent to this experience. I downloaded an app called WALTR 2 which does not understand folders. It wants me to navigate down into every individual folder and drag mp3s in, which is a non-starter. [link] [comments]  |
